I love how you notice and take joy in everything. From flowers in a meadow to animal tracks. Your enthusiasm for sunsets and nature and animals and food, etc is so uplifting. If only the world were like you we would be in peace. I will try to be more like you. 😊
I love watching your cooking and camping videos over n over to make sure im camping the right way! Who says reruns are boring?your topics are never boring
Thiers not many things better then camping and a storm "small storm" rolling in and then crawling in your dry and warm tent man listening to the rain drops hitting the roof soooo comfy lol
I vicariously enjoy these outdoor adventures. Watching from the UK. It's amazing seeing the equipment designed for easy assembly and usage. I used to go on some camping holidays with my family back in the 1970s - so things have changed a lot since then!!!!
What a great video! Your joy and passion for hiking comes out in every video and I always learn at least one thing from each one. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
I gotta say Chris.... That's very Squatchy lookin country around there. I'm surprised that you haven't had a bigfoot encounter of your own given the amount of time you spend out in the wild in locations like this! Makes for awesome adventures tho, ENjoyed the video. Stay safe, Keep Hikin'! fr CANADA... cheers 🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁
Thanks for taking us along! I'm a 4th. generation Montanan so am quite familiar with the back country where you were. Great area! Glad you had the opportunity to visit our great state!
Wow. Thank you for this one. I lived in Gardiner, MT from 1986 to 1992 and then in Bozeman until 1996. I miss it soooooo much. When we lived in Gardiner at the North Gate to Yellowstone, we spent a lot of time up in the Park. Beautiful. Heard of only one incidence of fatality in the wilds: 2 young men who went camping together with only their sleeping bags up in the high country in the spring and both got mauled/killed by bears.
You should go to McCall Idaho sometime and camp there. Also visit the McCall fish hatchery. I lived there for several years as a child and it is absolutely gorgeous! Two bald eagles live in a huge pine tree at the very back of the hatchery by the river. That is where I saw the bald eagle mating ritual! I will never forget it!
I enjoy that u keep the food simple!! I think its much more enjoyable when u r camping to do it that way! Love your channel! Your like a breath of fresh air to listen to and just unwind! I dont have to do all the hiking personally, just turn on your channel and enjoy it all from my living room chair!! Thanks for providing such a nice outreach to us who enjoy camping !!!
Excellent video! I love not only the scenic shots but also how you describe how to make camp and cook. Other channels omit a lot of that info and it's great to find it here!
Hello Chris from Apple Valley California, 🍎 I really enjoy watching your channel, I'm relatively new to your channel so I have to say it's very refreshing to veiw your take on the whole wilderness experience I love your passion for hiking, cooking, and discovering new places, not to mention to stories you share with us wiewers! I get to vicariously go and experience all those beautiful places with ya, which is super cool! But i have to ask you a question ... And the reason why I'm going to ask you this question is because I had a Bigfoot -Sasquatch encounter back in 1985 when I was 17 years of age on my aunt's 10 acres of raw woodsy property while I was hiking with my four cousins in Boring Oregon. I've always loved the woods and outdoors, but after my horrific encountered with the king of the forest Bigfoot - Sasquatch ...I have to say it tainted the whole thing for me now that I know what truly exists in those woods! In fact, I can't even go into the woods anymore! So my question is.... how do you do it knowing that Bigfoot -Sasquatch roams the deserts, forest, and woods?? Do you ever think that you might run into him/her or them?? And if so, what are your thoughts on that?? Thanks so much for sharing with us your enthusiasm for the outdoors, and for all the advice, and also for the experience!! Stay safe! You're the best Chris!! Showing lots of support from Apple Valley California, 🍎
I'm from Montana. I grew up in Livingston, then moved to Wilsall which is down the other side of the bridgers. I love your videos cuz I can almost smell the rain and grass where you are. We went up in there a lot when we were kids.
Now I see the video where the red Dollar Store cutting board made its debut!!! Too funny! From MN as well, and I really enjoy seeing the areas you camp in!
Hello there, That is a beautiful camping spot you are at, Oh yummy the food looks amazing, oh wow Mother Nature is so loud, glad you got your tent up first, It looks all cozy in there, Its raining pretty good. What a beautiful morning, thank you for sharing take care my friend
So happy to be going around with you Chris! I'm trying to catch up 💙 I never thought I could watch someone else eat a steak while I didn't have one, but it's great lol... blessings to you Chris
I really like your tripod stand for the fuel canister and the $1 cutting board is a nice thing to have. I also have those plastic travel bottles that you can put olive oil in or whatever you want. I really like the instant dehydrated potatoes that run a dollar at Walmart. I recently retired and I plan on joining the Northern CO Mountain Club to meet some like minded like yourself. You have inspired me Chris so I will keep you posted.
Another cool video Chris!, Nice natural gardens you had There in the mountains. It always gets exiting when it rains, specially with lightning. Meal looked real good. Thanks for sharing budy. Keep hiking, Saludos!
beautiful country !! really enjoying your videos chris 👍🏼 you seem like a cool laid back dude that really enjoys and appreciates nature…. one day when i have time …i’ll share my sasquatch story from kentucky when i was a kid… true, frightening, but i believe he was just a big curious friendly one.
Loved the video Chris. When I visit family up there I see elk all the time between Bozeman and Clyde Park hanging out in the meadows. Beautiful country.
The camping looks fun, are those freeze dried breakfast really good, I would like to here more adventurous stories please if you will,, you do a great job telling the stories thank you, God bless
i Definitely did. awesome views. that rain storm looked like a good time lol. thanks i go back and visit when i can.lots of places to explore for sure. thats very cool. Hopefully that gives you plenty of reason to go back and do more adventures when you can.
Found your channel and love watching your videos. A good tip for those bear cans is to mark them with high visibility reflective tape. That way if a bear does knock it around the bright color (pink, orange) will make it easy to find. The reflective tape makes it easy to see with a headlamp or flashlight in the dark.
Wow just look at that scenery man oh man Montana is such a beautiful place i live in north GA in the Appalachian mtns "blueridge area" its beautiful here as well but a different kinda beauty than out there but both are so beautiful i cant wait to start traveling and coming out that way.....
Hello my Outdoors friend, thank you for sharing another fine outdoor adventure. You did a great job of filming. That was quite an experience seeing so many elk together. All the best to you my friend. Stay healthy. 🤗
Thanks for this video. Looks like you had a ton o' fun. Great gear demonstrations! Looks like good stuff. I have backpacked in Montana. It is a wonderful place. I need to get back there again. I do not cook, nor store food nor cooking gear, within 100 yards of my tent. Whether one is in bear country or not, there are many other creatures great and small who are attracted to food aromas. The result is holes chewed in gear. Also, food aromas can stay in the material of your tent and other gear indefinitely. Again, thanks for this video. Good job!
Personally, I bring a kitchen sponge from home (cut into about a third) and boil some water after I’m done cooking and allow it to cool just so it’s tolerable to put my hand in but still warm and just scrub it out the best I can w my sponge.. then dig a hole to dump my dirty cook water in away from camp.. I’ve tried a few methods and this seems to work for me :)
I like the sponges as well with the scouring pad on the opposite side ( cut in 1/2 ) , small leak proof pop up top container for all natural dish soap and get water from a stream or boil as you mentioned....digging a small hole sounds like a good idea to dispose of the dirty water.
I love how you notice and take joy in everything. From flowers in a meadow to animal tracks. Your enthusiasm for sunsets and nature and animals and food, etc is so uplifting. If only the world were like you we would be in peace. I will try to be more like you. 😊

In Montana and Idaho there's an epidemic Among elk for chronic wasting disease. It's a real issue and a real problem.

The blue flowers are blue bells in England they are a sign that once it was ancient woodland and the white were iris.
I finally bought the msr salt and pepper shaker super handy
great video i love montana ! you should go to the bitterroot mountain range, its beautiful
Never been up there...I'll actually consider that..."Keep Hiking!"
Hi Chris. The bear can could be used as a mini table for your bowl/plate.
Yeah I could eat on it....table for one....also a camp chair!

Great time for a ghost story...lol...another great campout Chris!
Conditions on the sides of mountains, weather and weight are why I use a tarp and hammock here in the Colorado. Life is much easier under a tarp.
Glad that works for you.

Hey Chris how do you clean your pots and pans and dispose of trash while in the back country? Can you do a video on that?

The elk is only North American mammal that has ivory as teeth in a specific place on the jaw.
If you keep hooting your gonna call in a sasquatch!
