Super fun for me, new to fighting games. I ended up beating Bosch at the end, it DOES effect the story... kinda. Same thing happens except you are on the top the podium, but Bosch still takes the belt, yadda yadda.
Fun to watch, but I still would not play it myself. But I really enjoy watching you play it, and I think that the idea of training new players up to this kind of game was done very well, from what I saw.

I've been playing Street Fighter since Ultra 4. While I played the story mode as a pro player, understanding that it was made for newer players? I still loved every moment of it. Not only is it a great tutorial and learning experience for new players, it also serves as a great update to the characters and their lore for players who have been in this series for a long while. It makes me so proud that new players like you and all over the world have whole heartedly enjoyed the story mode and have applied what you learned in World Tour towards things like the Battle Hub or Online Matches. Bless all of you. As an experienced player, and I can attest for other players like me, we are all here to help you learn and welcome you into our little corner of Street Fighter with open arms and clenched fists. ❤
hey bud i just noticed you hit 1mil and i've been waiting on that FOREVER at least since you had that outro about getting a million subs a couple years ago but now that your here i'm so proud that made it. i'm glad you've been making enjoyable content for so long:)
Catching the VOD for most of the run and seeing Jesse goof around with it, then watching this... made me realize that this really is all I'd ever wanted from a Story Mode in a fighting game. It's what the appeal of stuff like Xenoverse was, without the absurd difficulty spikes/jumps and jank objectives. It was silly, taught you a few things to get you *ready* for certain things, and had a lot of depth to keep you having fun even if you didn't want to engage with the high-end stuff of online play. A super solid iteration on the slot machine from Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and a lot better then the set-piece shuffle that Dragonball FighterZ's story mode was. Hope we get more of this in the future, if just so I can watch Jesse tackle more of these kinds of things. Or just hear about it on Gentlemen's Gaming Club.
I was sold on buying the game watching your playthrough of it because I wanted to make my own character and have fun playing around with the fighting styles. I don't plan to play online, but I enjoyed my time in the world tour mode for sure! By the way, seeing Virtual Jesse slink around as Dhalsim if horrifying 😂
I gotta admit this is probably the first Gentlemen's Gaming Club I've watched in its entirety even though I'm a looong time Jesse enjoyer, probably because SF is one of my favorite franchises, certainly my favorite fighting game. I'm just glad that a lot of people are enjoying the game, even though I personally haven't touched World Tour mode beyond the first ~2 hrs or so because I prefer to spend my time online or in the training mode - but I see what good the mode has done for the franchise. I hope extensive single player stuff like this will become more and more of a standard thing in bigger FGs. Edit: also, yeah, big props for the video - good editing and script
Being my first fighting game ever, the world tour mode was an absolute joy to play, and it's great to learn the fundamentals of fighting game "language". By the way I have a level 90 character now and I've beaten all the 💪 guys including the massive post-endgame Nayshall gauntlet... but I'm still scared to play online.
I've never been one to play fighting games... I used to with my brother when we were kids but never really got into it. After watching this... my dudes... I wanna play it. It looks like so much fun! Thanks for the heads up and just keep being the wonderful people you are 😁

Haven't played a fighting game in a while, but this video definitely made me want to take a look at SF6. I wasn't even aware this one had a story mode. Those minigames looked fun, especially the pizza eating one - I love that all of them have a very Mr. Miyagi-approach too. I hope more fighting games have that kind of simple but fun way of teaching people the basics that people can hopefully carry-over when they play other fighting games.

"You wouldn't run a race after working all day on your feet." is a great line. Sometimes practice and performance need to be on different days. They tried the Mortal Kombat style story when they finally added it to SFV and it was miserable. Trying to mold everything around a plot creates these situations where characters are forced to exposit and do things for the sake of the plot. Here they did good character writing and let it shine. The Street Fighter cast is more charming than they've ever been, World Tour is just a loose framework that lets you go from character interaction to character interaction. I vastly prefer this to the formula of Plot Cutscenes, Fight, More Plot Cutscenes.
It was super fun to watch you play it. The funniest cut scenes you didn't even show in this, which is probably good. That way they can be a surprise for those that play it. I remember laughing out loud so hard during your chun li cut scene.
@jessecox Hi Jesse, Just wondering where you got that version of the Masterpiece Theater Theme (Mouret's Rondeau)? I haven't been able to find one with a harpsichord in the arrangement, like the version you use for your intro music. Thanks
It should be noted, Luke was made for SF6 first before being kind of "retrofitted" into SF5. Like, as a matter or representation, he really is a guy from SF6 that was ported backwards.
I don't play street fighter but I'm glad the release of sf6 has brought more people into the fgc, crazy to get a gentleman's gaming club out of it too!

This mode is lovely. I'm a little mad that it basically brings everyone up to the level I was already at in most fighting games XD But is basically a fighting game master class and I love it.
after the disappointment i felt for SFV, i absolutely love SF6 already. bought it last night, spent hours just making an avatar, trying to get gud in training mode, and messing about with other players, the DJ decks & arcade machines in the Battle Hub. haven't even ventured into World Tour yet, and already having so much fun, it just feels so welcoming. the gameplay, accessibility, art design, music, sound & visuals come together beautifully, i'm impressed.
You can actually win the fight against the "Cardboard Combatant". Yes, that combo of his is absolute bullshit, but you can actually counter it entirely if you use all the stuff you learnt before. You need to jump over his first dash-move(s), then low-block the sweep, regular block the punches and drive impact to counter the final blow. I used a bunch of health items to try and apply this tactic and got it to work once... not because the technique is flawed, but rather because I'm getting older and becoming worse at video games.
For the first time in a long while I'm interested in Street Fighter again. I always loved the design of the characters but I don't have any interest in playing online. I might pick it up sometime in the future.
I can't come up with ideas on where they should go from here, at least nothing that screams they gotta do that next, so I have no idea how they're gonna top this. Maybe that will change once I actually get to play the game, then again maybe I'll come out the other side thinking "SF7 should be another SF6, don't worry about doing any big new thing until in SF8"
I don't know if I'll ever see any of world tour mode as long as the online matches continue being so good edit: I think the message at the end of the game is more along the lines of "you have the tools to learn and gain strength, now go do it"

Need to unlock the trait that allows you to dress however you want & wear the fully upgraded Blanka-chan costume for stats.
