Thank you for your patience! I meant to have this tone video/these settings out earlier. But it all worked out because I ended up recently getting in touch with Jim Vincent, the guitar tech who was at this taping and he shared some awesome information that I am very excited to present in this video!
The tone you got was very accurate to the show! Awesome job recreating it and explaining what made Kurt's guitar cut out, I always thought it was something to do with the guitar itself, not the cable that he was using.
🔥🎸💯👍🏻 hello man! I have a huge request for you: could you create a playlist with ALL the Nirvana concerts that are only on TH-cam in chronological order? it would be a huge gift for all the fans!
Hell yeah! This tone is incredible, It almost just sounds like a really high quality backing track man! Love what you've been doing on the channel, the custom Squier build sounds so surpisingly accurate to kurts own Oranj-Stang. I find it really suprising and interesting that we got one of Kurt Cobain's most legendary Drain you screams maybe even his most legendary scream in general because of a rental cable cutting off, I was expecting something much more technical like something wrong with the internal wirings of his guitar or amplification setup, like his pedal board system. I also liked the creativity and switching on your tuner pedal to replicate his guitar cutting off, that was actually really smart! I might not've thought to do that.
YEES NEW NIRVANAGUITARS VIDEO! last year i actually did make an oranj-stang build, if you read them for some reason i was asking about a neck for the mustang on the comment sectin, never found one so istill have the original neck on my build, which isnt the same wood as the original, but that doesnt really matter to me. thanks for all your videos covering these guitars, tones and lives! i watch all of them and i'm always exited whena new one comes out, white strat eating man out.
You never fail to deliver! Very informative and amazing tone, this is one of my all time favourite nirvana shows, and the guitar just sounded and looked excellent, The colour on yours is really nice. You preserve nirvana’s history the best way, Great Video!
Always loved that performance. Ive said it in some of your other videos but I think this oranj stang build is your best sounding Kurt guitar. It nails the tone
Awesome tone! Nulle part Ailleurs was a super popular show in France in the 90's, Canal+ was the first private encoded paying chanel in France (and there was one hard corn movie each month) but this show was available to watch for free for everyone from 18h30 to 20h30. There was a super popular comedian Antoine De Caunes doing comedy interviews at the end of the show...They had an awesome musical programmation with huge artists performing live.
It's the night before February 3rd, before this video has premiered on February 4th. Last night (or morning?) on February 2nd, I dreamed that I was talking to Dave Grohl about my Mosrite that is a lot like the Mosrite Gospel Mark V that Kurt had. Though, mine's a few years older, it has a "Ventures II" name instead of a "Ventures Mark V" name, and that's confusing because Johnny Ramone's White Mosrite was also a Ventures II, but it's not the same model. Mosrite just used Original Ventures II necks (Johnny's type) at first, then switched necks but didn't change the name for months, until they did. ... This seemed relevant enough to say right here.
Eric so excited Ur videos are my favorite I love them this is my favorite live version of my favorite nirvana song keep up the good work and excited for more history videos.
man, the jb jr is the Roseland stang sounds like shit on clean but is still so cool for some reason. I can understand why kurt got the pickup changed but I wonder what this show might have sounded like if the Roseland Mustang had not been changed to oranj stang
The bridge pickup in the Squier Mustang Bullets are really good. I was debating for a while weather or not to change it out on my Blue Squier Mustang Bullet Competition. But ultimately I went with the JB. Keep up the good work. 🤘
Amazing as always, and i have a question, how far are you planning on taking your nirvana guitar collection?? are you planning to get a skystang 2, epihone texan, bleach era hi flyer things etc
Hey there, Loved the tone recreation (as per usual)! Just out of curiosity do you know if Kurt ever used the neck pick up on either his in utero mustangs or Jagstang at all during the in utero tour?
@@NirvanaGuitarsHey, I’d love to have feedback from you for my Pennyroyal Tea guitar Cover : th-cam.com/video/T4IRiAEbeko/w-d-xo.htmlsi=FFf8s4SNdDlDJq6y Thank you if you read this message!
Do you know if your lomic built mustang has 250k or 500k pots? I know Kurt usually used 250k since he kept the stock ones for single coils on his mustangs, and the bullet squier mustang also have 250k pots.
Hey man. I also am wondering the same. I happen to have a Squier sonic mustang in Red Torino. I swapped the bridge stock pup for a Jb. I also changed the pots to 500k and have a treble bleed mod. But I was wondering whether should I go back to 250k pots….
hey man, fan request here , ialways loved your videos and i realized there wasnt any videos about the stuidos tones from in utero with full explication, and there wasnt any big mount of videos about the tones from some demos post nevermind, so im just requesting for the tone video about rape me demo in the studio with jack endino (the demo from sliver the best of the box) plz :P love your videos, greetings from brazil :)
compared to glorified aaron rash i like your videos way more. with aaron i just often have the feeling that its more about cinematics and him making some super unique discovery that ultimately leads to only him alone finding that perfect sound that can only be achieved with custom electronics or guitars made from scratch. he never shows the true setups when comparing sounds and i have a feeling that a lot is achieved artificially with a computer EQ. thats just my opinion though and i could be wrong with you theres no ambiguity. you transparently show the setup and dont seem to push a bias at all. very cool stuff very much appreciated brother! thats why you deserved to play the actual skystang ❤
Hi Eric I got one question what brand and/or model of bridge are you using in this mustang, I recently turned a classic vibe into a skystang but I still got the bridge mod left, since I didn't want to drill the post holes to make em bigger, any suggestions?
Hey Eric. Thanks a lot for your videos. They're always very informative and helpful. I really like watching them and trying to improve. So yeah thanks. I have a Squier Sonic Mustang 2023 in Red Torino. I have changed the white pickguard to a pearloid in HS config. Stock neck pup in place and in bridge I have the Jb. Also I swapped to 500k pots and added a treble bleed mod. In your Squier Mustang which values of pots do you have? th-cam.com/users/shortsSXIe9h9fYgI?si=5JRdcG3jk6yQktA4

praise the broken cable for allowing us to all experience Kurt's wonderful scream in that recording
I asked you about this on the Rape Me cover last year about the pedal settings, and you kept your promise all the way!

It was the cable
The copper in the cable broke he has a video on that.
Cannot wait to finally figure out what happened to the guitar’s signal

You should do a video on where if Kurt’s guitar never cut out to see what would have it sounded like
