    This video is just more evidence on how much you can do with a basic (in a good way) Kurt/Nirvana tone. I don't mean that in a bad way at all. I just mean that I've seen countless videos of people trying to nail Kurt's tone and you've done it with stock sounds from a Katana. I feel like any basic distorted sound will get you there and everything else is all feel and playing loose. Another great video bro!

    • @SoggyBacco
      @SoggyBacco 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      instead of going out of your way to find kurts exact gear just get whats cheap and works (like a certain someone). my rig is a modded mustang, an old peavy amp i got for free, a samsamp clone and chorus from behringer. both pedals are like $30 and my tone is closer than 90% of the people who have what kurt used

    • @Heisenbinks
      @Heisenbinks 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@SoggyBacco totally agree. I think its cringey when people try to get the exact gear anyway it's better to be inspired by a sound and make your own from that starting point then to just blatantly copy it

    One of the things that always gets me is how great the song writing and the guitar work on In Utero are. Kurt was great as far back as the demos for Bleach, but he was still getting better, and the band was really building into something beyond incredible. Those live performances with Pat in the band are just top notch.
    And "You Know You're Right" really leaves us with a big "what if?"

    Bleach was a slimey, passionate punk record. Nevermind was an angst-ridden rock album with pop sentiments. when you fuse those two concepts together the result is in Utero: one the defining albums of grunge music.

    You may not have been trying to nail the exact sounds but seems like you did! All Apologies tone in particular was perfect.

    Noice! And some of those tones are really capturing the vibe for a random setting, Steve Albini will be very cross

    I'm lucky enough to have found an Fernandes strat. It slays these tunes.
    Love my old Pacifica but it's in bits at the moment.

    It had not dawned on me until now that Serve The Servants is such a Foo Fighters’ riff! It sounds just like something that would be on Grohl’s FF debut. Very similar to Alone + Easy Target, Oh, George and/ This is a Call.

      I agree. And it’s interesting how, even though they’re musically similar, it feels different just by having a different voice and guitarist.

    No offense meant at all, but you make these plain, unremarkably adorned guitars sound fantastic!

    Bloxsy is flawless!!! Hats off man!!! . When are u going to play “ gallons” in full version? . Amazing son , imo. Btw , I’m still looking for a song you recorded in the old channel but I can’t find it. I think it was from “ velvet” but I’m not sure, the riff of that song is just amazing . Ring any bells? . Keep it up !
