Love your content! Positive, great humour, informative, quirky, original and flat out genuine feeling. Keep up the great work. I dont sub to many channels, but this is one channel I want to follow for sure! Looking at getting a Bombtrack Hook EXT to supplement the stable. Thats how I found you btw. Peace from Norway!
Great video! Thanks for featuring our bike camping gear in your video! It was fun running into you guys up there. We experienced no post-trip digestive issues after filtering and boiling water from the greenish-brown rock puddles to make our overnight possible :P
Love the Space Odyssey 2001 reference :-) Oh and yes, heartrate monitors rule! Never ride without one... Especially considering my chronic fatigue syndrome, it helps me a lot to not go overboard during rides!
anwser to question that took alot of riding to figure out for me: how to not get sore wrists/hands/arms/shoulders on gnarly singletrack rides? get in the drops and relax you arms so your becomes elbows straight, then they'll functions as suspension! now riding gnarly singletrack is magical on a stiff gravelbike
@@lechprotean haha yeah well i dont want to ride anything more gnarly than perfect pavment descent at that speed, if you find yourself going down singletrack that fast i suggest that you should get a downhill bike
Haven't seen a MTB handlebar set up like that triangle since Muddy Fox bikes were all the rage in the UK and Ireland in the late 80s. I'd definitely go with the 650b hardtail on that terrain, the others look tooooo sketchy!
That's one epic orifice you guys navigated. Appreciate how the step toward true MTB was offset by the introduction of heart rate nerdery. Subtly genius, or serendipitous, whatever
dustin, it'd be rad to have a video talking about your weekly riding schedule (typically) and approach to rest and recovery kind of like the topics you talked about with chad. i really got a lot out of that. iunno. hope your day is chill~
I was expecting Ron to answer "The Twilight Zone" when you asked him which zone he was in. :D - Nice ride and beautiful scenery out there in god's navel!
Great vid that ride was awesome would love to ride it . Really enjoying your content so different and refreshing compared to other cycling vids on here.
For your intro to gravel video, I would love your opinion on what is the gnarliest kind of ride a gravel bike could do. Would you have felt comfortable on your gravel bike on this ride today, or was the rigid MTB the best option? I’m hoping to buy a gravel bike soon, and kinda want to know the limits of that bike, because that ride looked sick!
@@EverythingsBeenDone That would be really cool mate. I do love when you showcase a landscape. You have made it one of 'your things'. It blends nicely with something I heard from comedy pioneer Billy Connolly: "If you can appreciate the simple things in life then you have already 'made it'."
for the intro to gravel video, would you rather have a mixed surface bike that can take both roads and gravel, or would you rather have two separate bikes? i'm getting my first bike soon and while gravel seems tempting, i don't know if i should bet on it really helping if most of what i ride is on the road. thanks!
A mixed surface bike is best because then you are not limiting yourself. Further, most gravel bikes will handle just fine on the road with the benefit of wider tires providing a bit more cushion.
New to gravel biking whats the ideal starter road kit to have on you for repairs? Also maybe share some homemade snack recipes some of the stuff you guys bring looks legit
What was your avg hr on that ride (maybe you mentioned?). You inspired me to dust off and recharge my polar hr monitor today. I hardly use it but it’s a nice check in now and then. Battery life on the polar oh1 is crap how is it on the one you use?
My HR monitor tells me I've spent the majority of all my rides in zone 5 "You are shortly going to die if you keep this up". I haven't figured out if I can calibrate it to reflect my actual max heart rate or not. In the meantime I like to interpret this as being super hard core.
I have a heart rate monitor but always forget to put it on before I leave the house. Biggest benifit I see is to have a accurate count of calories burned from the ride so I know how much cake I can eat after.
Lets hang out on the Gram: bit.ly/DkleinIG
holy shit, "shared burden!" great little lesson there.
Totaly made it up
I watch a lot of TH-cam biking vids -- too much really -- and you guys definitely have the most fun. Keep it up!
MASSIVE COMMENT! Thank you my dude!
@@EverythingsBeenDone I agree. You’re probably my favorite biking TH-cam because the way you do your videos. Please keep them up!!!
I love Ron's little bunny hops over rocks. From now on I will call them "Ronops."
He loves boppin over everything!
Cheese Talk by Ron is the perfect compliment to these videos. Thoroughly enjoying 👍
The perfect pairing per haps ;)
3:30 Oh look.. Ron's popping a wheelie! Whoah ahhah!
I'm pretty sure Ron's zones go to 11.
LMAO
At least one of them is a cheese zone.
That was some AWESOME mountain sheeeet !!! The scenery was off the hook

Out of all your awesome bikes the Ritchey rigid
hard tail is my favorite
You cats are always having a gas! love it.
Much respect!
Truly incredible ride and nobody flat-lined!! Yay heartrate!
Good to see y’all gravel boys out in the woods !
Ooh i like that Smeltzer bike. Also te P 29 Ritchey frame is so beatiful. Love the steel bikes.
Rind is good to put in soups to add salt and somewhat thicken the broth.
great call!
Wow that scenery. Looked like an awesome adventure!
That banana money shot, though.

Epic ness to the MAX
Digging Ron teaching us things. ....the more you know. 😊
Sweet ride but 8:22-9:04 "The Rind" is EPIC
HAHAHAHa

LOVE that you picked up on the 2001 reference! You have a very healthy perspective on the HRM. I can dig it!
More MTB! Bring it on!
Did anybody notice RON SHAVED his mustache? GREAT video as always. Thanks 🙏🏼 Dustin.
The weather is always nuts up there.
Again time well spent, it's always a pleasure to watch your contents! I'm just here enjoying the ride...
I went from chuckling at a slight mention of 4-20 to getting a culture lesson.
Keep up the good work.

Most of my rides are based on HR, I use wahoo ticker and Bolt and try to keep in the range as you do, that looked like a cool ride on the moon.
Heart rate zones 9 and 13, plus shared burden and cheese rinds. Your videos are always so informative😎
your olive-venture sure was purty...keep it going sir!
Loving those exposed ridge lines. Looks like that ride definitely wasn’t all rind all the time! At least from where I’m sitting.
Edge of my saddle for sure!

Awesome trivia Ron.
Dude, I finally have a gravel bike on the way! This video great but super looking forward to the next!
Ron and Dustin Video for breakfast for the good start into the Friday 👌
Dustin! a video of a long distance route or bikepacking ride would be cool 👌🏻
Stoked about that Manchego
Hey! That’s my gear at that site. Nice meeting you guys out there, those are some pretty sweet bikes!
Come Ride in Europe. If you loved your ride, check out the Julian Alps and Slovenia for that matter. Nice video as always. Cheers.
How did I miss this one?!
Ron knocking it out with the Cheese Rind info✌🏾
love the jersey
The P29 returns! Keep it up player!!!
Loving the convos in parking lot. Ron is a classic, is the other fella from kids in the Hall ?
Keep up the great work DMan🤘
So glad I went for a ride before seeing this... cause I would have gone on one to match the zone(s) just for kicks
That Mt. Saint Helens, she's an independent lady. Hehehe
TROOTH
Your crew is pretty cool!
I ran the Bigfoot 44 miler around mount saint helens last year...almost to the day yo. Heart Rate that day FUCKED.
You are a BEAST

Loved this so much man, thank you 🙏
Those shoes look dope and you need a RWB kit to match the Ritchey
Great vid that ride was awesome would love to ride it . Really enjoying your content so different and refreshing compared to other cycling vids on here.
Dammn, that red wool jersey is fucking sick!! That shit was rad as hell, thanks DK!
That place looks epic
Please make a tier list of gravel/mountain bike shoes!
Ape Canyon is a classic, next time you do it keep going and take Smith Creek trail back

also damn ron went off on the cheese that was really cool
Dustin you need to do a t-shirt/coffee cup/pencil case/ with the banana landscape.
I could make that happen!
@@EverythingsBeenDone That would be really cool mate. I do love when you showcase a landscape. You have made it one of 'your things'. It blends nicely with something I heard from comedy pioneer Billy Connolly: "If you can appreciate the simple things in life then you have already 'made it'."

Buy a mixed surface or gravel centred bike, and you'll find yourself searching for trails more often than you realise :)
The answer to how many bikes is always N+1...
Make sure whatever you get has room for wide tires. Then you can ride anywhere.
Epic ride, very nice video. You have to upgrade to 4K man :D
Show Dustin from Brazil 😎

great video as always! thank you!
awesome video vato. cool jersey. Is it available for purchase?
Good question! I check the wilier site!
Dustin another great video! How did the rigid mtb handle rocky single track? Were you ever wishing you had a front suspension at anytime?
Any reason you didnt take your Bombtrack with the suspension? You might dig the Willer Jaroon. Do you think you can get one to test please?
That was a fun video! Keep them coming. I have a question: What HR monitor did you pair with your Wahoo? Was it easy to pair them together?
Nice video. I’ve now subscribed!
Awesome, thank you!
I love you Dustin!
Did you have any trouble keeping up with the squishy bikes on the rigid 29er? Would you ever add a suspension fork? Loved the video!
........Shout out to you, Dustin Klein.....!! \m/

The Ritchey has been sad and lonely!
Looking for a decent wind/rain jacket, what's the Goretex jacket Duug's wearing?
Whoaaa. 😲 btw, how many bike's do you have??
I have ridden with a monitor for years. If I am not feeling right and it goes real high without much effort I know I’m sick.
How helpful is that! I find it super informative as well.
First time i’ve Seen a vid. Of yours. Liking your work, my ‘bru... Any single speed schtuff in your off road repertoire?
