I put a smear (one or two drops) of high quality, organic, hexane free, cold pressed, castor oil on my closed eye before bed. Gone is the pain. Gone is the inability to read at night. Gone are even the warm compresses. Just the castor oil. Barbara O'Neill even says this eye treatment will even go into the eye and help cataracts. Advertisements will say castor oil is for your skin and hair and they have a phobia to saying "put castor oil on your eye." You don't even need to "drop" it in your eye.... just smear it on your closed eye. I sleep on my back so it stays where I put it. You could put some sort of eye cover on if necessary.
Me bought the Renpho Eyeris 1 in 2021 and got the Eyeris 3 on Black Friday last year. Honestly, I prefer the 3 one because it adjusts for temple massage only. I dislike massaging eyeballs due to my falsies. They do help with my dry eyes, and I often use them to relax my eyes before sleep with bluetooth to ASMR😪. Nice warmth!(I don't have severe dry eyes, this is just a personal sharing of the products I use)
Have you reviewed the Wizard Research Dry Eye Mask? That seems to be the most recommended while looking into the best dry eye mask. Curious to what your opinion is.
Hi Doc!! Thanks for the great review! Sadly, I didn't find my way here until after I'd ordered mine. Having used it for a few weeks, I found, just as you did, that the temperature was insufficient and the battery life was horrible (even worse if one uses the massage and/or Bluetooth features). What I wanted to ask is, which devices, if any, have you found that actually manage to maintain the required temperature to make for effective therapy? Thanks again!! Rob
I'm literally watching this while suffering from dry eyes. Man I hate having it. And it's my luck to forget buying new artificial tears and suffer for 3 days without them🥲 I'm thinking about getting a warm compress soon because I think I really need it. So thanks for the review! And also speaking of artificial tears. Sometimes I ask for help with putting it in my eyes and my mom forgot to put the lid back on it. It sat on my desk for a few minutes without the lid on it. Is it a problem? And sometimes after using it small drops stay on the side of the bottle or around the tip of the bottle which I didn't clean off. Could that lead to contamination? I can be very paranoid sometimes so these things scare me. How can I test it out if the artificial tear is contaminated or not?
@@jgoldfarb3 Do you use anything else other than artificial tears? Because I feel like they don't help me as much as they did before and I need something else too that could help me
It is possible for the tip of the bottle to get contaminated. You can still clean the tip of the bottle, and try and avoid touching the tip of the bottle to your eye. Leaving the cap off could potentially cause contamination in the bottle... but it would depend on how long, and the environment it is left in, as well if the bottle has some preservatives in it to protect it. If you are worried, you could switch to single use preservative free eye drops to reduce those risks.
@@DrEyeGuy I use preservative free artificial tears because the preservative ones irritate and make my eyes itch a lot. We only left the bottle without the cap for a few minutes and it was cold in the room. But I have another one of that exact same bottle of artificial tears unopened in my cabinet. Maybe it's better if I use that instead and I'll be more careful with how I store it. Another thing that I don't understand is that I have more discharge in the corner of my left eye than the right one. But my right eye hurts more than the left. Can dry eye cause this? And I recently caught a cold too so I was wondering if that could possibly effect my eye? I'm very thankful for your help btw. I swear to God your videos and also comments help me way more than my eye doctors. Keep it up doc!
These are some of my favorite warm compresses: th-cam.com/video/D5I0nrZb2vQ/w-d-xo.html This video is a little older, and I need to update it. But these are still great warm compress options.
Right, good point to bring. That's why I usually talk about pressure on the eyes with warm compresses, it's something definitely to be aware of. Thanks.
Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse. Bottom line, if you are looking for these eye massages to double as a warm compress... this one, the eyeris 3 could work. If you are looking for a dedicated warm compress, there are some better options out there.
Hi DrEyeGuy, I would like to purchase one of these as I have evaporative mgd. I currently have Bruder eye masks but I want to up my game to one of these ones however I live in New Zealand and it is really expensive to ship things here so I would like your recommendation on a dry eye heated eye mask device please. I've used the blephasteam device at dry eye clinic but they're approx $500usd to get it here. Can you recommend something similar that holds the heat between 42°c and 45°c

Thanks for the comment! I agree with you.
Can this be used while it is being charged?
@@vanyc5716 no😂It only be used after charging because the charging port is blocked while in use. It works 1-2 weeks to charge it once

Is this good for someone with keratoconus,I dont think so,cuz of the pressure on the cornea.that should be looked into

That looks...uncomfortable to me.
I could definitely see how it might trigger a claustrophobic feeling.
Sounds confusing to me!

i question your expertise eye guy
Question away. It's always best to question and do research for yourself.
This seems like a massive grift.
Just run a washcloth under warm water and lie back.
no Bluetooth washcloth required (don't put it in your ears), duh.
It can be hard to keep the washcloth at temp for long enough. But yeah, people don't need this type of device to do a warm compress effectively.
