Very interesting, difficult to follow as the narrator rich in knowlede throws it liberally at you. I suggests turning on the subtitltles it helps

Why so ashamed of being Bulgars

The same reason many are ashamed to be what they are, what they were, many times because of foreign occupation, etc. As long as we understand each other, we are the same people, albeit mixed. If we replace hate with cooperation, we could be at the forefront of humankind.

I’m surprised it took until the second comment to see this! Lol - Either way, they have a unique culture with a separate dialect, they all seemed like good people to us, and I don’t see what the anger is (apart from claiming historic figures that didn’t originate there). It seems like everyone in the Balkans wants to argue that everyone else is a different racial group, I say we revive the Vinča culture and purge everything between Austria and Greece. Then, no more racial disputes!

The home of Alexander the Great.
The greeks called the Macedonians barbarians because to their ears every non-greeks language sounded like ba-ba.
Skopje should make a big museum to honor the memory of their greatest son.
