Me too. Every time he gets nominated for the big O I go through the season waiting with bated breath. I hope I get to exhale this year. I really want to see this happen because he was just sublime - even for him! - in "Conclave."
I have the deepest respect for Juliette, and I'm always delighted to see her. Her performance in "Blue" is in my Top 10 favorite acting performances of all time. ❤🎉
I went to see The English Patient three times in theaters when it first came out. Loved it- and almost hyperventilated when Juliette received the Oscar.
Very fine wine and getting better with time🎉 Antony Minghela's Patient was brilliant, one of the very few times when the movie raises up to the level of the book. As for its director, I've had the honour to see him in person and I will never forget how modest a genius can be. Give any of his movies a try and you will be amazed!❤
@bethelle9099 YES, I was same, too. 😂 (btw I love both Juliette Binoche and Ralph Fiennes! just not like this!) I happened to see this movie in the theater with just one other friend, also a woman. We both felt half-dead by the end of it. 😂😂 We were also so glad we happened to see it together when everyone else was raving about it but it killed us. THEN the Seinfeld episode came out and we were like YESSSSSS!!!! THANK YOU!
@@mikearchibald744 😂😂😂 see my other comment about my friend and I withering away during this movie. But yes THAT we liked. 😁 You are spot on, good memory too! Also that whole story line was the only thing that kept us alive. And his his hair, hmm yeah Thanks for reminding me how much we loved that part. 😂❤❤
So hard to understand/believe the type of people who 'didn't get' the movie The English Patient....really? Wasn't SO long ago to have been a generational 'thing'....surely?!! Believe that in many ways, it's another type of sad reflection of the world we live in today !

i like English Patient a lot, but i don't love it Ralph Fiennes puts in a good performance as Almasy and when he's bed ridden in italy i actually like the character but the whole affair between Almasy and Katherine (Kristen Scott Thomas) i don't care for at all, Almasy is just SO despicable and i find their relationship entirely unsexy (love the desert, though) i love Juliette Binoche as Hannah and Naveen Andrews as Kip, their relationship saves the film
@@GabeUFO Dude, I'm French. Sure, the US aren't the center of the world, but... it's pretty big. And we know Seinfeld. It's not as big as Friends, but we know it.
Jake would be a Millennial airhead whose only ever seen four films in his life: Goodfellas, Mad Max 2, the remake of The Thing, and The Empire Strikes Back. Don't let Jake convince you he knows anything.
I absolutely do not like how the interviewer continues to use the phrase "you guys". He can do better than that. He sounds like a sophomore in high school.
Niceties aside, THE ENGLISH PATIENT was in fact, long, boring, and pointless. The best thing that came out of it in fact was Elaine's irreverent hatred for it on Seinfeld.😂😂😂
Both great actors but The English Patient was most likely my greatest disappointment as far as movies go. Visually beautiful, boring, bland, and peopled with characters I couldn’t even care about. An absolute failure of a film all the way through in a time when Binoche and Thomas were goddesses to me.

Juliette is so effortlessly and naturally elegant--not to mention (but to mention) absolutely gorgeous. She's fine wine.
And she is not using a ridiculous filter like that cheesy interviewer, lol!
I earnestly hope Ralph gets his long overdue Oscar this year.
and a long overdue shave.

I love that Ralph Fiennes had to explain to Juliette Binoche what the show Seinfeld is 😄
That made me grin too. RF is "Mr. Classics" so it's always cute when he references a bit of pop culture. 😊🎉❤
Juliette Binoche is such a beauty. I love her.

The fact that Ralph Fiennes is a fan of Seinfeld just moved him up a few spaces on the list
Subscribed. I love these two, Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche! I wish they make more films! Thank you, Jake!
Elaines friend says
“That Ralph Fiennes! I would give up my first born for him”
They have a great chemistry, always had. I'm waiting for the release of that movie in my country !
They're made for eachother artistically, incredible duo !! love and respect from Greece!💙💙

Ralph Fiennes ... always amazing on the Screen

He is sorely missed. His films are full of beauty and empathy.
Great job on the interview
All good questions Jake ! I adore these 2 actors !
Great Interview. Thank you.
Could have asked Ralph about the Schindler's List episode too.
It was quite a list
😀😀😃😃😜😜
My Heathcliff and Cathy ❤❤❤❤❤
I'm with Elaine. Juliette was the only saving factor for that movie.
She is a godsend to cinema.
Pure loveliness!!!

I would invite Juliette to a Seinfeld Marathon ANYTIME.
Beautiful movie the english patient ❤
He is just so attractive
Such a heartfelt interview. Keep it up, Jake. You're the best.
The word you're looking for is sycophantic, not heartfelt.
I feel like falling asleep just hearing them talk.
She is so gorgeous 😍
It's surprising that Juliette has never even heard of Seinfeld. I'm blown away!
It probably was never syndicated in France where she lives.
@@mrquirky3626 IT WAS.
Yeah, kinda hard to believe
In Germany it wasn't popular also. So i ain't surprised at all.
Seinfeld wasn't so successful outside of the United States.
Shes french and an actress i doubt she watches any t.v let alone american tv

Agreed, the Almasy/Katherine affair was adulterous not romantic. But I love the scene where Kip helps Hannah view the frescoes.
Nah dude. It’s a good movie. If you can’t appreciate art that’s on you.
I agree with your assessment i preferred kip and hannah over ralph and kristin
Juliette! You gotta see the episode! YOU GOTTA SEE THE EPISODE!!
I wish he would stop calling them 'you guys.' Not too classy with someone as elegant and refined as Binoche.
When's he gonna re-unite with J.Lo on the Maid In Manhattan sequel
Oh, Lord no. Never. RF didn't like the writing for the character of Chris, and though I have nothing against J Lo, they didn't make a cohesive pair.
- Seinfeld, it's an American comedy.
- Ah...
Juliette Binoche acting like she's never heard of Seinfeld because she's above sitcoms.
