Drill dash CD is 4 seconds instead of 8 if you’re burrowed.
Maaaan I hate watching these “full breakdown” videos from people that are supposed to be pros and reading that they missed basic things in the comments.

@snewp_e2139 Sure...still doesn't mean he would have seen it. I think people should be happy a video was made going over the character rather than be upset because they missed an interaction between 2 abilities
Additional stuff about burrow+drill dash combo:
- when dashing while burrowed the cool down is shortened by half
- drill dash normally moves you 10m, but 15 while burrowed
- you can turn while burrow dashing
Drill dash also lets you travel 15 meters if used in the air, so if you jump then drill dash you get the 15m, good to keep in mind for bigger gaps
Edit: holding jump AFTER activating drill dash actually lets you go up to 20m!
Thanks for this! I’m curious to know how the burrow/dash damage stack if you emerge while dashing! The stuff you mentioned seems to encourage combining dash and burrow, so I wonder if the damage will, too.
If you go off a ledge while burrow dashing you get a huge boost that can cross gaps
@@SilverHawk0987 this boost applies anywhere during the burrowed dash meaning you can go almost the full distance with dash and boost out a ledge at the last second to get an extra 10 meters or so. its fairly dependant on map geometry but is super helpful getting out of some control dropship spawns fast
If you drill dash on a ledge and expose yourself going towards an enemy you will damage an enemy with the normal Dash damage instead of just the 5, if you time it right you can deal enough damage with drill dash and land back in the ground to charge up fully to finish the kill

Ok, I still say you SHOULD be able to hit an underground Venture with Earthshatter, Terra Surge, and Meter Strike at least.
It should work like Pokémon where Earthquake deals double damage if they’re underground 😂

Venture can still collect health packs while burrowing. This can be a big deal, since you're also invulnerable for the duration.

Something I noticed: Using Burrow instantly reloads the Smart Excavator, so Burrow can be used right as Venture runs out of ammo to continue a combo or to pull out from the enemy team after doing damage (Much like how Doomfist is played)
Same as Reaper's wraithform too, unless that's changed.
Much like how and dive character works really go in using a movement ability go out using a movement ability m
True, but you only need 1 or 2 shots to combo
Melee can almost instantly animation-cancel your primary fire, making for great burst damage. That animation cancel combos with either ability to one-shot squishies

Yeah it's crazy how close you can overlap them once you get the timing. I've got melee bound to right click and I assume that helps (and dash bound to "e".)
M1 -> M2 -> M1 -> melee is an insane combo that can kill like 70% of the cast it's pretty nutty

You can cancel the melee with the dash
There isn't a delay between quick melee and using abilities, so you can deal 300 damage really fast with: Shoot + Melee + Dash + Shoot
It requires you to be in melee range though.
Myth: Can your Tectonic Shock troll a friendly Earthshatter by knocking enemies above Earthshatter's hit volume?
Myth: Can multiple Ventures "juggle" targets in the air using Tectonic Shock?
You can definitely bounce a lucio trying to drop beat

The dash has a shorter cooldown if used while using burrow.
One thing to note about Burrow that I haven't seen in the comments yet is that you instantly reload when you enter the ground. Pretty useful midfight for an invulnerable reload + shield recharge + damage burst as you come back out to shoot more!
Can Venture take Symmetra's teleporter while burrowed?
No
Myth/tech: One big tech with drill dash is if unburrowed and dashed into a sloped surface or angled wall it doubles the distance you go, and if burrowed and dashing off a ledge it's both faster and further as well
If you burrow while standing on the ground, there's a brief animation where you have to break the surface. If you burrow mid air (at least a few meters off the ground) you dive straight into the ground
What? This just means the animation is taking place mid air. There is no functional difference.
@@williammartin7138 there's definitely a difference between a brief fall and standing still. It's also an entirely different animation. The dive animation puts your head hitbox at the bottom of your character model
they should make Earthshatter stun them out of burrow... It would only make sense and be a fun niche interaction
right, and theres still counterplay cause they can use the dash to avoid earthshatter

You can dash right before burrow ends to extend the time you are underground and still get the full super jump afterwards.
You can burrow on top of Mei's Ice wall and Lifeweavers petal platform
You can use venture's ultimate in the air to fall faster
You can burrow into moving cars and ride them.
You can do this by burrowing into the road and cars will pick you up as they pass.
Can be useful for flanking on that oasis map.
Knowing them they'll patch that fast
you can use your abilities while your ult is active as well
Myth: Can Venture be trapped by Junkrat while burrowed? Can they get out of said trap using burrow? Additionally to they trigger Roadhog's trap while burrowed?
Myth: Can Venture go outside Mauga's ulit using burrow?
Myth: Can Venture burrow on Lifeweaver's petal when its on the air?
Myth: Does Venture's ult travel through elevation like Rein's ult?
Myth: What happens to Echo (copying Venture) while burrowed after her ult timer runs out?
Myth: Does Illari's sunstruck, Zenyatta's orb of discord, Ana's biotic grenade, Junker Queen's wound, Tracer's pulse bomb, Sombra's virus, Echo's sticky bombs, an ally Lucio's sound barrier or Cassidy's magnetic grenade get removed when Venture burrows?
Myth: Can allies target Venture while burrowed i.e. Mercy heal/boost or Zenyatta's orb of harmony? In addition, how does line of sight for Venture work while they're burrowed like for Zenyatta's orb of harmony?
Myth: Will Venture become suddenly un-targeted by Moira's biotic orb (ally healing and enemy damage) if Venture suddenly burrows mid-effect?
Myth: Can Venture be affected by Lucio's crossfade while burrowed?
Myth: Can you see Venture's silhouette underground while in range of Hanzo's sonic arrow or during Widowmaker's infrasight?
Myth: Does Cassidy's deadeye lock on timer reset when Venture gets tagetted, burrows then emerges during the duration of Cassidy's ult?

I testes a few already today:
When burrowed before Mauga cages she can get out, but she cant use it when shes is trapped already.
Her burrow cleanses all negative effects and damage over time like poison, burn and antihealing etc.
She cant be healed by any healer burrowed but zenyatta, however she isnt affected by his ult when burrowed.
When revealed by hanzo or widow when burrowed, her pile of rocks become highlighted, not her character model.
And finally cassidy cant lock on her with hisbult when she is burrowed, however it doesnt reset the amount he has locked begore you burrow

One thing I noticed trying them out, you can't use the ult off the ground, so if you jump and try shooting it... it won't go off

Myth: can you burrow through a cagefight and will muaga using cage fight pull you out of burrow?
You can still use abilities while ulting, allowing you to reposition before your ult timer runs out
you can also use both your dig and dash at the same time which will drill dash underground as soon as you go under, giving it the cooldown reduction and allowing you to have your drill dash almost as soon as you finish burrow
If and when you do a mythbusters on all the interactions with Venture and their abilities-
It seems like Clobber / Quick melee has some kind of CC'ing effect to it. In particular I tend to 1 trick doomfist, and im fairly certain ive had rocket punch get stopped dead in its tracks when hit by clobber. To be specific it feels like each tick of clobber has almost like a "micro snare", so youll use rocket punch- and then stutter forward between each little tick from the melee, drastically reducing the distance rocket punch moves.

When you dash underground on certain diagonals, it boosts the dash very far. On the new queen street last point, if you dash underground up the hill you can almost reach the spawn with one use of dash. I have a clip of myself doing it on accident.
Small detail, but I really like how much effort was put into making the burrow moving animation so seamless. I don't really know how to explain it, but in other games with characters that move underground, it just kind of seems like a basic "moving debris" animation, whereas venture's actually reacts to the direction that they move. It's pretty cool.

Another thing to note, Venture's gun Smart Excavator CANNOT crit. 80 damage is the max damage you can reach at the "sweet spot" for it's range

Burrow reloads your gun. Dashing at the end of the burrow timer gives you a longer burrow time. If you hit the keys almost at the exact time (primary first) you can animation cancel into melee fast enough it's basically a single attack.
Does ult:
- Get boosted by mercy + ana + bap window?
- Does kitsune rush increase the firerate
- Can you take damage from the ult while already being knocked up? How high do you need to jump over it?
- Can genji deflect it?e
- Can dva DM it?
- Can sigma hands it?
- Does torb turrent / mei iceblock stop the wave?
- Does zarya bubble prevent the wave from passing through
- Can the ult travel from high ground to low ground?
- Can the wave travel under payload?
Ult gets doosted my mercy and nano but idk abt bap
And deflect/eat doesn't work as it's not a projectile just treat it like shatter so prolly won't work W window now that I think abt it it also doesn't go up or down high ground it stays on the level you use it
these questions are kinda dumb, ngl. Of course the damage boosting abilities boost the damage of a damage dealing ultimate. Of course Dva/ sigma can’t eat it, it’s a shockwave, not a projectile. A lot of these questions are already answered by earth shatter being a thing
Can Mauga's cage fight trap a burrowed Venture?
I already had an interesting interection while playing Venture.
If you burrow while in the air, there will be a diving animation until you hit the ground, however, you keep locked in that animation, and cannot do anything until hit the floor, so I used it, then the enemy Roadhog ulted and kept me on the air, and I just stayed there not being able to do a thing, just waiting mt death, it was fun

No, they are not targetable while they are burrowed and Mercy's beam breaks when they burrow.
you can't life grip them in the ground, but they can burrow into a floating life petal which is pretty silly. Also i assume you can life grip them before then go under ground which might lead to some trolling

myth: tectonic shock can travel up or down map geometry if the "steps" are small enough - like how at the right location/angle, Rein can shatter up the spinner on Junkertown

Not really a myth cause I personally already tried it out, but fun interaction: if Venture is burrowed on top of a LW platform and the platform is activated by another hero, they also go up with it (and stay burrowed).
Not sure if others mentioned it...
The left click charge when exiting burrow, it feels like releasing left click at 3 bars is faster and does same damage as just holding left click the whole time. Like about a sec faster (by mentally counting the time upon left click to damage)
For me, this is the real spiritual successor to DPS Doomfist. I'm back, babyeee.

What happens when 2 ventures use drill dash to each other?
They'll both just take damage. After all, drill dash doesn't have any knockdown properties, only the knockback, which is ignored when both are locked in the drill dash animation.
Another fun gameplay mechanic I'd like to add on, Venture is one of few heroes that can melee cancel into their abilities as well. Try dashing/ burrow after any point during the melee animation and it immediately cancels the quick melee. Characters like Tracer can do this as well with recall and blink, while characters like Genji can't.

Additional note: Both tectonic shock and burrow will dive you quickly towards the ground if activated in mid air

If you dash immediately after burrowing and wait to the last second to do a full charge out of the ground, you can dash again mid air
Whats pretty cool with Ventures ult, if you are airborne and hold your primary fire, you slam down quicker.
Props to KarQ and the editors for putting the switch button layouts on the screen! don't want to leave them out of the party! Even though I don't know how many people actually play on switch 😭
I play on switch and actually find it so much easier to aim with a Pro-Controller than Xbox
The ult can hit an opposing burrowing Venture.
Also, I think the devs messed up. Earthshatter should absolutely hit Venture when burrowing.

You can also extend the time you're burrowed by using the Drill dash right at the end. This can fool the enemies thinking they got you cornered and can be clutch at stalls.
God I love them, it's like old DPS Doomfist but for OW2 and I'm all here for it

One thing to note: When you pop ult, you can burrow, and emerge to continue using ult, so I would assume you can also drill dash with ult activated.
Another interact is drill dash can stop a queen ult or more so hold her in place

they said hard CC, meaning stuns. there are no DPS that can stun.
@@Scripzure they didnt specify dps, they said in general. doomfist punch, orisa jav, sigma rock, rein ult, ana sleep, life weaver grip, brig bash.
A cool "tech" is that if you use Drill Dash immediately at the start of Burrow, and then charge it for full damage at the last second of Burrow, Drill Dash will be off CD and avaliable to use again as you jump up. Great if you need to escape for example.
Nobody talks about how burrow reloads ammo for you as well, and I'm pretty sure life weaver put trees down while I was burrowing and it took me out of the ground,I might have pressed the button and didn't change it but I don't think I did.

Venture is not invulnerable to enemy venture ult but it is to shatter I think it’s because venture ult knocks up. Also if burrow ends while u r in mid air it animation cancels the charging jump which is good if u want to shoot immediately.
you can, (with pretty tight timeing: shoot-drill dash-shoot, melee to kill almost any squishy (dont know how well this works when your further away though

Something weird I found with Tectonic Shock: When you press the primary fire while in the air, it will pull you down faster, even when jumping+left click
Small thing, if you use a Tectonic Shock charge while in the air it increases your falling speed.
I really enjoy playing her so far. Her kits pretty dope! she reminds me of OW1 doomfist

I found when using the ult mid air your fall speed is increased. Kinda like pressing down in smash at the apex of your jump
same here, since you need to be on the ground to use the ult attack. if you activate it midair it pulls you to the ground
Some myths:
- Can the ultimate travel down slopes and how much does elevation change affect it
- Can you extend your burrow duration by using drill dash just as it ends
- Burrow cleanses Ana anti-nade, how much does it cleanse? Can it cleanse Illari ult?
- Can you still be healed while burrowed? It seems that Tree of Life does heal with the initial burst
- Can you contest while burrowing?
- Does the ultimate's knock up have movement lockout
- Can you boop multiple times with drill dash while burrowing, same as Wrecking Ball's double boop tech?
Now if only they decide on the gender of that character...

you can drill *dash while shifting from high to low ground. wasn't sure if it can be activated while airborne but it worked before going airborne. not sure if the damage is normal while doing this.
when you are burrowed. u can press and hold jump to charge up a popping up "slam"
