you're a huge motivation man, I've bought and rebuilt two bikes now since watching your videos over the past few years and find myself constantly searching marketplace for the next basket case or "does not run" scenario like my first two. its a ton of fun- cheers from NY!
Bloody oath I'm the same. I'm a noob to it and you just learn so many little tips and tricks from this lad. Invaluable.
Hey @chrispeterson310 what do you do with bikes with no titles? Do you leave them alone and move on to only bikes with titles in NY? Thanks
Hardest working man on youtube, everytime I turn around you’ve bought and fixed something, great content sir. !!
Its almost one a day now.
You obviously don’t watch vice grip garage
I obviously do. !!
@@TroubadourJuggernaut then how is this joker the hardest working man on TH-cam? He literally works at home and does half azzed rebuilds full of dirt
I mean if any of us could buy bikes and make videos and make money to live we’d all do it little bit of luck too but it’s fun not even a job
so many people dont show everything they do, thank you for showing everything. if i need to rebuild a kx 250f
im coming back to this vid
Lol I got this exact bike free mine runs bad and I'm about to rip into it perfect time for me lol😂
One of my favorite channels on TH-cam
Thanks for watching!
I have been watching many of your videos, I have enjoyed them and learned from them. Your technique was really sound on this rebuild. Only thing that surprised me was that you only torqued the heads. Don't you use a torque wrench on things like cam retainer bolts, flywheel, clutch etc. ?
Perhaps you are confident given you do this assembly alot but I would be using a torque wrench (maybe you do it off camera)? Aside from that its nice to see you do everything proper, replacing any questionable parts, lots of gaskets and seals.
@2vintage
I think this may be the most extensive rebuild I've seen on your channel, Joe. Great video! Thanks! Congrats.
No its not.
@@jerrywilcox9890 It's not the most extensive rebuild I'VE SEEN on his channel?
After years of watching you, the videos never get old. I love this stuff. As always. Great work man.
Best wishes from England dude, been a fan/subscriber for a few years now, and learnt so much regarding bike engines from you. Keep smashing the vids mate 🤙🏻💪🏻
I've enjoyed your last few videos which have shown deeper engine work and complete teardown/rebuild work. Keeps it fresh from your standard clean the gunk out of the carb and put a plug in it type of videos. Good work Joe.
Thank you, another engine teardown - always a learning experience putting the puzzle together. Dirt bike, no it's a snow bike. Even some 2Vinny time. Any day outdoors on a bike, sled, or ATV is better than a day in the office Keep up the hard work, let's get to 400k subs.
You know it came out perfectly when the little pup gives his tail a wag of approval. What a transformation on the engine. Sure does look and sound amazing.
Great job on the build, but you have got to get you a parts washer please. It would just complete your build so much If you would just clean your parts before you put them back together, you’ve already got them apart and stripped out, why would you not clean your engine on the outside why you got it all apart to make sure there’s no imperfections. It’s a must.
You are the Bob Ross of Powersports! It's relaxing watching you work and nail all the details!
Nailed it! He's very serene....
I loved watching this engine and gearbox rebuild. I would love to watch you rebuild a Yamaha V-max 1200 from back in the day.
Loving the 4 stroke rebuilds! The engine tear down and repair work is therapeutic to watch. Bike sounds great!
Joe, how on Earth do you manage to do all the stages of making your video's, from
finding, buying and retrieving machines through to all the oily jobs and capturing it
all on cameras. Then editing it all down to a production quality your happy with,
and firing it off to YaTube. You then do it all over again once or twice more
every week. I didn't even mention the time it takes to scour the web for the best
parts prices too.
Are you an identical twin with both of you making videos every week? 😉
I can't see how you have time for your lovely young wife and furry family
members, but your workload is impressive. Thanks for your efforts.
My God, is your area of the state simply littered with motorocycles and sleds that are not running? Are you selling any or have you bought a WAREHOUSE to store them all in? Absolutely love this channel?
Nice engine work, you have the patience and knowledge. Keep up the hard work
I got a 2stroke yz that’s starting to make bearing noise in the case you’ve almost gave me the courage to split the case myself I’m thinking hard on it…I’ve watched your videos a long time keep em rolling….
Keep it up man, you inspire me!I’ve started doing the same thing and have done 3 250f and a 125 learned and learn so much from you
Great job getting her going! You seem to have these 4 stroke rebuilds down!!👍
I love how a transmission works. I remember splitting the cases of my TS185 when I was young and discovering how the shifting drum would engage a gear to another. I had the dealer's service manual which was huge in my education and learning the names of every part.
Love the videos. Rebuilt my first dirt bike in 1979. Was a 1967 K15P Suzuki 80. I was in 8th grade, and had to change a gear with a missing tooth. Didn’t do it perfectly but was a great learning experience. Have now owned over 50 bikes and I love love love rebuilding them. So much more fun than cars because, you can get to the problem really fast and then get them back together pretty fast too. My latest bike is a 1987 KLR250 I bought for 100$. Had been sitting behind a shed and was in bad shape but, now is titled and ready for some dual sport rides this spring. Keep up the cool videos!
I like that pilot screw that tells you how far you are out. Smart!
I think I could watch your work all day long.
Would love to see an entire video of the Vin Man👍👍
Good morning love your videos. Wish I lived closer to you I have a couple bikes giving me troubles. Thanks for the content
I got that same stand and it's awesome only 150 bucks 100 bucks cheaper than the tusk brand and 50lb more weight than tusk to iit goes up really high and I can move it around the garage with ease can't go wrong buying one of these 😮
Joe, you have the talent and patients for this. I enjoy watching all your videos. I have a special place in my heart KXs, especially the 80s KXs 2 stroke. Ill never forget the joy and being scared to death at the same time riding them. Lol keep up the great work sir. I Enjoy every minute.
Dude, you’re getting a lot of people off of their butts and fixing things. Bravo bro.
I got my 06 kx250f running again! Couldn’t have done it without watching this video.
Thanks for the great info and time put into these videos
Great build bud. I would love to see wheel bearings and fork seal replacement. All the the worn out bikes you have done they have to need that too. Be fun and educational to watch. Thanks man for your hard work.
I hated these bikes. It seemed it was killing the glory days of racing. They were so much more difficult to maintain and keep running well. I was a kid watching Jeremy, Carmichael, bubba, reed, and sometimes laracco [lol] dominate. Then the four jokes started popping up giant mufflers and obnoxious sound. Thanks Joe for letting us watch you grow. You’ve learned so much. You’re a good dude.
Really nice bike! Masterful work. I love watching a machine come back to life. Great work. Cheers.
Great job Joe, i love the style of the aluminum frame. Love watching you fix these bikes man
These videos are great, I'm learning so much more than a standard educational model 😅
Kawasaki was my first dirt bike so I have a soft spot for them. Was looking forward to seeing this one finished.
I have to know how many of your neighbors are wishing your youtube channel will go away. :) Keep up the good work
😂
You must have quite the collection of flywheel pullers now joe. keep up the great work
Incredible instruction on the bottom end. Ive always wanted to be able to do that. Maybe some day ill attempt a bottom end rebuild. Excellent work and thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Nice little cycle, needs a little tinkering. Appreciate the engine rebuilds, and always learning moments.
Why do I feel smarter after watching any of your videos, you are a great teacher Joe, make it easy to understand thankyou from all of us. 👍💯
Thanks for the entertainment. Your wife must be editing vids while you are making more content....No one releases the amount of vids as you. Great job....keep on keeping on.
Nope I edit all my videos haha
Great work! I don't know if this one leaks fork fluid but I'd like to see you put new seals and bushings in forks one one of these bikes. Its an easy job and I think it would make a good video. Maybe rebuild a shock too. Thanks.
It looks like it needs the back shock rebuilt. Rocket Ron does a great job.
So this was my therapeutic, quite pill session of today, TnX! Who needs a shrink when you can watch this😄
All method no madness. Great video Joe.
I love these videos! i have a KTM SMC and I'm always afraid to work on it because have little to none expierience. These give me confidence and knowledge how to fix my bikes. Keep up the good work 👍🏼👍🏼
Go for it! Once you dig into your first bike it gets way easier!
Great job joe sounds well good now take care and all the best mate 👍👌🔧🔧🔧🏁🏁🔧🔧🔧🦴🦴🐾🐾
Been waiting for this one! A really good series on the kxf and as always great videos! Keep it up 🏍️🏍️🏍️
Thanks for watching!
You are like the Zen MX mechanic. Enjoy watching you work...more Vin as well!
What am I missing? You tightened the head bolts and then torqued them and they didn't move. Enjoy your vids.
The vinster is stoked. He loves green !!!
Me and you have alot in common if it don't run we will make it run lol been here from the start way back to the cr80 video that you built and gave away think burnt orange color if I'm not mistaken keep em coming with the vids awesome work and patience
Great job, bike runs sweet! Time for a good rip down the street if it's not icy out!
Yay! Vinnie! Can’t wait to hear the bike with fixed exhaust can you show a brief update and what it sounds like with the exhaust leak fixed? That’s cool it starts first kick. It obviously was because it has the whole device already done and the suspension was done by factory connection.
Loved the bit where you clean the cylinder barrel :P
I think it’s time you start doing a merch store. Then you can start raffling off some of the equipment you repair! 😎 Great job as always!
Huge fan! You have motivated me to dig deeper into my small engines and fleet of bikes.
Sounds sweet does that my man, I’d buy that for a dollar all day long, good work again!! 👍👍
Its a keeper I would say.
Vin is happy. All is well. Another great job
Vinny needs a friend who’ll have the same amount of energy as him.
Hondabond works great for a hi temp sealant for the two halves. Thanks for showing us how the trans is put together with the shift forks
Congrats You lucky guy
great job! you have to replace Vinnie's tires to winter tires, he's slipping 😂
Need Vin with some of that Tokyo drift music lol. You should find a small bike with a small sidecar for Vinny
Please do a video on how you do tire changes, everyone has different ways and if you have an easier way I am all in. GREAT videos!
I've never seen him do a tire change, he always takes his wheels to the shop.
I think you should reset your cam chain tensioner because I believe it ratcheted out an extra tooth when you started the spring tensioner bolt before tightening the two securing bolts and it jumped away from the barrel before you tightened them... Great video though 👍
Love the videos! My first engine split was a 87 kx125 on the kitchen table lolI was like 14! Anyways get yourself a spring loaded center punch It works perfect for the float pins!
glad to see you fix one in one video 🙃
Rebuild and reassembly with no torque wrench until the head and no "reee" in the comments I don't know how you do that. Good job.
It's ALIVE ! Sounds better (quieter) than the 2 stroke...!
Love your work, learnt a lot from watching your videos. 👍💪
Looks like you have a fantastic attention to detail and you get theses engines running sweet. I can't help but think it would be even better to see a few motors refreshed with soda blasting or paint so they look just as fresh on the outside.
Great videos and enjoy watching them from the UK. Wondered if you could include selling them and for how much, would make the videos complete and more interesting at the end 🙂
Best. Channel. Ever.
Kick ass channel. I have an 84 xr 500r that wants to run. New timing chain, cam gear, rear wheel bearings and seals. Would like to see it on your channel. Located near wheeling wv. We could negotiate a price. Nice old bike.
You need a side car for Vinny.
I raced with the top pro's in the early 70's and I wish that I'd had a 'wrench' like this guy...
WOW, he's really good!! 😂😂 😂😂😂😂😂
Love watching these man videos.
Bloody Hell Joe ,that was a struggle ,getting that lump back in
Once again joe u did it again 👏🏾 🙌
fantastic work as always, but why not take the time to clean the outside of the cases when everything was apart?
Absolutely run the 2 oil line gear possibly was a factory update Maybe made a Lil later..
Best TH-cam channel going. Great content!!
😅Like a surgeon! Awesome knowledge, interesting to watch.
LOL, I'll be 60 this Aug, had that EXACT same flannel shirt back in the 90's when I was still farming... No bs, exact same shirt!!! I'm sure I bought it at Big R, as well as the plier pocket KEY work pants I wore...
Another good video joe amazing content as usual mate 👍
I've been purchasing dirtbikes because I watched his channel. 🤷♂️😅
Benny is the star of the show lol
Awesome repair👍
Been waiting for this. Thank you 🙏
Once again Vinnie steals the show.
Love these videos! Is it ever summer where you live?!
❤ Vinnie! He's saying, he's got lots of energy to burn off.
I'm learning a lot about how these things work, and maybe getting to the point that I should get a trashed engine, just to take it apart and see how it all works.. Both my machines are new, under 250 miles on each yet. I'm curious though, what do you do with all these bikes you bring back to life, do you keep them, or sell them?
I like the carb model kxf bikes but the fuel injected ones changed the game imo, their so reliable.
The early kx 4 strokes were bottom of the barrel compared to the other 3 japenese manufacturers.
Love your content!! Curious…I’m sure you resell most of your fixes. How would someone make an offer on something you fixed?
Your brilliant, very talented fella.
Was there a crack in that carb at the mid body? Looked like it was cracked pretty good. Right at 46:57.
Btw I always mean to ask do you have carbon monoxide detectors in your garage? I just lost my older brother a few months back to carbon monoxide poisoning from him simply doing laundry in his house so it’s on my mind a little more now when I see engines running in a garage.
Your fuel screw was installed wrong. The order is supposed to be spring, washer, then o-ring.
