Thank you so much for this recipe.
I don't use microwaves, so baked it in the oven for 15min.
It smelled like a cake and I wasn't that optimistic about it being used as bread/toast.
But later when I toasted it ... OMG !!!
I had it with avocado, nutritional yeast and poached eggs.
Soooo good, soooo easy, soooo happy,
This is my favourite keto recipe to date.

Too eggy and wet for my liking but I'm sure a lot of people will love it, especially for 'french toast'. I personally prefer egg white only, or mostly egg white and only 1 yolk, baking powder, almond, coconut, or lupini flour, adding yeast for taste or activating it with a small amount of honey, adding xanthan gum at sometimes cilium husk. I also add salt a couple of drops of stevia and various herbs/spices depending on what I'm going to use it for. This creates, a dryer bread with a more 'bread-like texture and no eggy taste. It can still be made in the microwave. This is just what works for my tastes though as a person that struggles with texture and is sensitive to eggy tastes.

    • @mindymilly
      @mindymilly 2 ปีที่แล้ว +27

Same here... I tried the recipe as is but I didn't like the eggy taste so I used 2 eggs instead of 4.
Also, 1 tbsp of baking powder made it bitter so I used 1 tsp instead and it was better.

I made this last night. It took a lot more than 90 seconds to cook in my low powered microwave oven. After the first 3 minutes the middle of the bread still looked like liquid but I let it cook for a couple more minutes and it came out seemingly ok. I still wasn't too sure when I took it out if it had cooked long enough since it still appeared to be a little moist but I did not want to over cook it. It was steaming hot when I took it out (still cooking I guess) and it dropped out of the glass dish perfectly. I let it cool until it stopped steaming then I cut it into 8 slices. My wife was with me in the kitchen the whole time preparing her own supper. She had not idea what I was doing and was quite surprised to see me bring what looked like real bread to the table. She was surprised that it came out of the microwave. While it tasted nothing like actual bread, as was expected, it was quite filling, more so to me than actual bread. As for the taste, maybe a little too eggy and too much baking powder but perhaps that's the trade off for bread-like texture and the convenience of making it in the microwave.

      Try it in the oven.
I made the recipe only for 2 servings.

she poured only enough to make 2 thin slices at a time. Sounds like you poured the whole lot in at once if you got 8 slices out of yours-- naturally it takes a lot longer to cook it all up at once. Microwave is only suitable to cook maximum 1 thick bread slice at a time.

I just made this and used it to make a toasty.
    My thoughts.
Took an extra minute to cook but that could of been the shape of my baking dish or micowave power. And it did sag in the middle, could of been dish size again.
It actually made a fair amount. I cut 3 thick slices and used one to make a toasty. Was very filling.
The bread is a bit on the eggy side, so it would go well with savoury dishes or maybe as a french toast.
I can imagine it going well as toast with something like a cauliflower and bacon soup, yum.
The baking powder also came through a bit, I was surprised at how much was needed.
    Thanks for sharing the recipe.
Was nice to have a toasty as some comfort food.
    Blessings.

I just tried this. I put the mixture in a bread pan. I think a 9×5. I popped it in the oven at 350° & I think it took more than 20mins. It was delicious!!!
I used it to try and make French toast. It definitely can be used for cake recipes, corn bread & things like that.
I will definitely be using this recipe alot in my life. Thank you ❤️

This bread is amazingly fast and delicious, depending upon seasonings you use to flavor it. It's quite bread-like!! 😋
Be careful with the ingredients you use, if you track your macros. Baking powder DOES have quite a few carbs (1.3 per tsp/4 per Tbl). I use Rumford aluminum-free baking powder. It does say 0g carbs on the nutrition facts, but only for 1/8 tsp. This recipe calls for 2 Tablespoons. So the actual total carb count per 1 slice (4 slices total per recipe) is actually SEVEN grams and net carbs per slice are 4g. If you use 2 slices to make a sandwich, that's 14g carbs total and 8g net. For me, that makes this bread definitely a treat, and not for eating on the daily.
Thanks so much for posting, Low Carb Love! ❤️

The problem is people don’t own recipes and who knows if the person you are talking about is the “original” and very first person to ever make it! Recipes and cooking tips are things passed down from generation to generation, from friend to friend, shared through our love of food! If I watch a video of someone making jalapeño poppers I don’t feel that they need to be giving credit to someone and again, who even knows who the VERY “first” person who ever made that would be ……the actual one deserving the credit anyways. Let’s share love and light and especially Food ❤️
