Most ppl think it is "Mortal Combat" but it actualy is "Mission Impossible" theme. Talking about Big Shot. Even quest in game is about heist.
Toby Fox is the king of leitmotif. If you hear a note progression that sounds good, you can be assured that it either A) has already shown up, or B) will come back later. And not just in the same project! He worked on some songs in the last few pokemon games, and one of them includes a motif he made way back in 2010.
And one of them comes from his mpreg fanfic

BIG SHOT is masterful. It has leitmotifs from NOWS YOUR CHANCE TO BE A, because both songs are for the same character,
THE WORLD REVOLVING, because of an ongoing narrative of freedom and breaking fate,
Dummy! because the character is a crazy ventriloquist dummy, and
Power of NEO, because the character uses the same power that the song initially played for.
Toby Fox is a genius of leitmotifs, this is just for ONE CHARACTER in ONE SONG.
THE WORLD REVOLVING leitmotif in particular is super interesting to me. My guess is it's going to become the character leitmotif for the "strange someone" Jevil met when he was the court jester, and who Spamton received a phone call from (if they are the same person). Whether this someone is going to be the "Knight" or someone else entirely, though, I have no idea. I can hardly wait to the next chapters! 😌

@@cillafawn281 its been speculated the the strange someone is gaster because it shares alot of simailarities whith gasters motif.
Big Shot is an incredible song, if not just for the song itself, for the leitmotifs in it.
The song is a patchwork of different leitmotifs, each representing something different about the character, and none of it feels out of place.
The motif you pointed out in Field of Hopes and Dreams is actually a motif from a later song in the Deltarune OST called "Don't Forget," I highly recommend checking that one out sometime as well! If you think THIS use of the motif is emotional...you've seen nothing 😉
I think he said that this motif sound familiar because of Camellia's remix of Rude Buster and specifically part with vocal

In the fandom we call the motif in the world revolving and big shot the "freedom motif", since the characters these songs represent have a strong desire for "freedom"
that rude buster-like riff in field of hopes and dreams is so well done for in-game feeling because this area transitions to rude buster quite often. it's such an incredible and seemless swap and it does a great job immersing you into the game very early on as two of the first tracks you hear after the prologue
You said that the "Majestic motif" makes you feel like you are not alone. This motif is from a later Deltarune song (yes, an actual song, not just instrumental) called "Don't Forget". You actually got it right: listen to the lyrics.

Big Shot has leitmotifs from Dummy! as well (the song you said you didn't know how many songs ago it was). And fun fact, it's game file has "wip" in it, meaning Toby was gonna take an already jam packed phenomenal ass song and make it even better. Also if you ever get around to playing Deltarune, you'll see why Camellia said the video had spoilers.

With Field of HD, it's like he struck onto a nostalgic song that hasn't existed before the game came out, it's a mass consciousness, lattice of happenstance kinda thing, I can't explain it and I don't think I wanna!
CYBER'S WORLD has a strange holiday sound to it, or ice and snow kind of evening-at-years-end feeling, as does parts of the soundtrack as a whole.
Dummy! is just a wacky wild wooly dance of a jam.
The World Revolving's on my top five, top three maybe, of the series so far, you are battling an insanely powerful being that looks like a squat little jester in this part of the game, so his music's gotta sound like juggling flaming chainsaws while doing a unicycle tightrope over a pit of Ultrasharks, just nail-biting insanity that kind of can't stop, even if it wanted to, there's an air of terrified desperation to it.
Now's your Chance is very much like the character you encounter, an odd little salesman that speaks in glitchy Ad-speak of all kinds, but much like all small unassuming characters, he's got a secret boss theme that shows his true colors, but not necessarily his real dreams. You'll have to play the game, friend~ but he DOES seem to know about a few things he can't know.. ALSO, ORHCHESTRA HITS, ENOUGH TO CHOKE A 90s KONAMI GAME!

what you said at 6:43 caught my attention, with this "the protagonist is not alone" thing. well, you know what song that short leitmotif that the strings play is taken from? the notes in that section are taken from "don't forget", a song that literally ends with the lyrics "don't forget, I'm with you in the dark". so yeah, not alone at all
(pretty sure that you didn't react to don't forget so far, so that's why i find this to be very cool)

Cyber's World is one of the first songs that has ever immediately resonated with me and had me love it right from the start.
When I was playing I was literally just going "OH MY GOD WHAT IS THIS? I LOVE IT SO MUCH", normally I have to let a song sink in and hear it a few times before I do remember it. It's such a standout for me. Despite a lot of the few songs matching that criteria also being from Toby lol
A Cyber's World is just amazing. It just hooks you and takes you into the world.. A perfect first area theme

34:25 No one's quite sure about that, from what I can tell. I think that's what the related character calls a certain attack, which involves launching blue, bouncing, circular objects at the player. He has been known to call them 'eggs', as well as 'pipis', but no one really knows. It's probably not dick-related.
To no spoil the game, the characters from The World revolving and Big Shot have something in common, hence why they have similar melodies
But both are different characters in different contexts

I do tell, leitmotifs are very much so intentional. They are used to great effect to connect certain aspects of the lore, such as characters and locations.
The melody in BIG SHOT and THE WORLD REVOLVING is a leitmotif often calledt he freedom them that has alot of lore significance.
That that called your attention in the minute 3:07 is part of the song "don't forget" also from the ost of deltarune, in several songs of the ost of chapter 1 and 2 in some song will appear that piece of the song "don't forget".
For a Cyber's world theres more to it as early on the first area even adds sound effects during the puzzle that flows in time with the music. So it all just goes together beautifully
The field of hopes and dreams sound familiar to you because in the camellia remix there was a part of this song
i remember watching a video called and it explained every leitmotiff and how this song is connected to pretty much every lore part of chapter 1 and 2 of deltarune

You haven't covered the best bangers from undertale yet. One of the tracks you have to listen to is "Hopes and Dreams", and another one that is in my opinion the best track Toby has written "Undertale". Some other good ones are the theme CORE, a powerful ambient track Waterfall, and a boss theme Spear of Justice. If you want something insane for your ears listen to "Your Best Nightmare" with "Finale", as they are played together.
Deltarune and Undertale almost NEVER disappoint in OST. Toby Fox is an amazing game/music designer

one of my favorite things abt toby fox songs is you can totally hear when a song has been precision engineered to give you anxiety. Battle against A True Hero, Megalovania, the World Revolving, and Big Shot all play during secret (and super difficult) boss fights and are pretty much designed to stress you out as much as possible so that the fight makes you start vibrating with anxious rage
Spoilery Deltarune crackpot theory I had while listening to this, take no stock in this don't even read it lol.
When the lietmotief from "Don't Forget" is played in "Field of Hopes and Dreams" it's first played by an oboe and then followed up with the piano. It's been hinted at that Kris knows how to play the piano when we aren't actively controlling them through extra dialogue in the hospital. Could it be that the piano following the oboe symbollically represents Kris following the player? Could this be a subtle hint that Kris is the the one "with us in the dark"? I don't believe this, but I made the connection and thought the narrative sounded fun and wanted to share it.
I also find it interesting that the first songs in each Dark World start off with low fidelity instruments. It's like the music represents this feeling of the worlds building themselves out of simple concepts and objects. It makes me wonder if Chapter 3's Dark World introduction song will also begin this way. I will be looking out for that.

I think watching you end your reaction to Fields of Hopes and Dreams right before the sax solo began had to have taken several years off of my lifespan.
Cyber's World isn't the first time I've heard the upbeat utilized like that.
If you listen closely "The World Revolving" throws its voice from left to right in such a way that it feels like the music is revolving around your head. Because of this, this song literally sounds like the world is revolving.

You made me laugh so hard when you called it the sacred motif that was hilarious, it's the "dont forget" motif from the song "dont forget", you will love it even more after you listen to it. The other motif you noticed repeat in big shot is the "freedom" leitmotif you heard in the world revolving. In your own time you should listen to a bigshot rearrangement called "Deadringer" by Jamangar it's the best deltarune fan created theme, besides "Your Destiny" by Kibo.

It will be most likly a leitmotif that secret bosses will share to represent the freedom theme that they'll also surely share. Control and freedom seems to be Deltarune main theme with what we know.
Though it isn't quite my favorite Toby Fox track, _Big Shot_ is probably Toby Fox's most technically impressive track.
The reason "Dummy" sounds like "Spider Dance" is that they share the same motif, as does "Ghost Fight". It's basically the mid-level miniboss theme for Undertale, with a version tailored to each character.
I love how he listens to deltarune OST and then in the middle of the vid its just Dummy from UNDERTALE.

WOW. The absolute level of trolling it is to pause Field of hopes and Dreams like 8 times right before the sax section, and THEN to skip it entirely. Thats emotional abuse at its finest
Toby tends to accompany a leitmotief to a character or concept and use it in songs that relate to that concept or character. This lets the communite forshadow a lot of plot points or ideas. The only problem is figuring out when hes using a leitmotif, or an alternative of a leitmotif for this sorta thing. Which I personally think he gets a kick out of when people misinterpretation these phase shifted leitmotifs to stuff that they don't actually mean. But if your just a musician and not into the lore, I'm sure its super cool in general.
There are some lietmotiefs followed in World Revolving and BIG SHOT that are lore significant. They are super bosses in the game, so they share Don't Forget/Hopes and Dreams, and Gaster leitmoetifs, which you've noticed. I don't remember if they also contain Noelle's leitmotief or not, but I know shes involved in some of the Gaster motief songs. The Girl Next Door is her main song and contains her leitmoteif. (And if your curious, Gaster is a.... complicated subject. But basically he was a character Toby made using only rare events and the game's meta file code that people discovered in Undertale, and he has a stronger presence as an actual character in Deltarune. Its still not significant now, but it may be later. Noelle is an actual character you see and interact with a lot.)

the best part about B I G S H O T is the fact that it uses so many lietmotifs to other character's music. Which is reinforced in game with how the character chose to make himself B I G.
Deltarune is a videogame divided into multiple chapters, and each chapter is its own videogame. Each chapter has a secret boss, which is the hardest enemy of each chapter. Each of these bosses shares a common theme: They want to achieve "Freedom" from an unknown force called "Haven". 30:59, We could say that this motif is the "Freedom" or "Evil freedom" leitmotif, used for all the secret bosses (And I hope that when Chapter 3 gets released, this motif gets to be there too.)
by the way. Dummy! is a actually a remix of another one of the songs from undertale called Ghost Fight. Toby fox actually remixed his own song.
