I review the Sofin SC13. This is the best-value 18350 flashlight out there right now. This thing is the size of my thumb but can throw a 200m beam! Find out more in my video.

    Sofirn SC13 Video Transcript:
    • General thoughts after a week of usage/size comparison/practicality/interesting things:
    • This is the smallest Sofirn flashlight I own. It's an 18350 light with impressive performance! I have a bunch of 18350 lights and I know people have asked me for a good quality budget option... so here it is! I like how light and compact the SC13 is, you could fit it in your coin pocket. The Fresnel lens reduces the length of the light significantly, even more than a standard TIR lens but still manages to achieve the 200m+ m range!
    • What you get in the box: charging cable, 18350 cell, lanyard, spare o-ring, clip
    • Comparison with SC18, SC32, Prime C1 Pro
Overall Construction, LED, lens, bezel and reflector
    • Good quality construction, especially for this price range. Matt black anodizing. Low-key design. Magnet in the tail. USB-C charging. Deep carry clip.
    • Button is firmer when compared to the SC18 - that was one of my gripes initially. Also functions as a battery indicator.
    • SST40 with Fresnel lens - series of concentric circles. Can't unscrew the bezel by hand.
    UI - modes
    • I like the simple UI of this light.
    • Press and hold from off for moonlight. Press three times to lock/unlock.
    • Press once to turn on (memory mode). Press and hold for LMH. Double press for turbo. Double press again for strobe.
Performance - total output, beam profile, longevity, practicality
    • Ceiling bounce test, CCT, CRI.
    • Surprising throwy beam! I like that there's decent amounts of flood too, even on the lower modes. I didn't notice any artefacts in the beam, no ringiness.
    Considerations
    • Lower battery capacity. The SST40 is pretty efficient on lower modes though.
    • FET driver, large step-down.
    Verdict
If you're looking for a great value EDC flashlight, the Sofirn SC31 is a steal. It packs a serious punch for its size and fits in your pocket easily, good for those who find 18650 lights a bit cumbersome. This would make an excellent keychain light too.
