Just a suggestion...shine the light on vertical objects rather than the grass...lets someone see how it projects light much better than shining down on the grass.
Long time admirer, first time commenter. The lens is a Fresnel - (pronounced like Chanel - as in the designer) after the French phycisist who invented the design in the 19th c! Great work!
Some days it feels like a slog but it makes me happy to be able to make these videos, and see everyone's responses, being able to help out with questions :D
Do you pronounce the S in Fresnel? It is named after its inventor, French physicist Augustin-Jean Fresnel. The name is pronounced /freɪˈnɛl/ (fray-NELL), the 's' is silent.
Will this light work with cr123r batteries? I have an old Olight s1 with extra batteries. This light packs alot of punches for such a small light, the type c recharge is just so convenient these days.
Hay Darren hope all is well. Question for you and thanks for a really cool video. You just put on here. Have you ever tried testing the Nitecore TM 39?. I have this in the short body and also the long battery pack. It’s amazing if you ever get a chance to put this out there in one of your fine productions I would love to see that. The other night I challenged it up against the Thrunite TN 42 V2 which is a fantastic light itself. But there is a major difference in the runtime on Turbo with the Nightcore. I’ve never owned a torch that has this type of runtime capabilities on turbo it’s truly amazing. It’s also a stunning thrower and looks with its amazing LED screen that makes Access so easy to read you and I have talked before on multiple occasions I have the K 75, 2.0 which don’t get me wrong I love. But the way you can run this TM39 on Turbo is truly amazing. It’s not cheap but the old saying is you get what you pay for. Always good speaking to you my friend. Hope all is well.🔦👍
Hey mate, I had a look at the TM39 and looks like a solid light! I have a P23i and it maintains a higher level of brightness than my other SFT70 lights too. Nitecore push their lights a bit further. Though I find they get pretty hot! Been well, just working a lot trying to grow this channel more, along with my other one. Hope you're going alright too.
@@DarrenYeoYT all good here brother The sun is setting, getting ready to take the lights out in a couple of minutes with one of my buddies. Last night I had the 3×21 D I also took out my Thor 3. Darren that Nightcore TM 39 it’s a monster . You can run that on Turbo for 10 minutes without it getting hot at all.my AceBeam k65 ,if I run that on turbo within a minute and a half to two minutes ,I have to shut that down. The TM 39 is a work of art . Another beautiful light that I just picked up last week is the Manker MK 35.11. That’s running on 4 protected 18650. Darren it’s pushing 2000 m /1 million Candela 90.2 LED and it blows away the K 65. Another beautiful torch for Manker.
@@DarrenYeoYT do you know it’s a real good life I picked up the LR 35R from Fenix. What a great flood and it definitely has a capabilities of throwing 500 m and more. They make a great product . I have the Q8 plus which is a real nice flood thrower, it gets real hot though real fast. Where with the LR 35R just a great light.
I'm worried about the rubber button. I bought the SC18 from sofirn last year and only used it for about a month and the button caved in and never recover. Traumatized till today :
@@DarrenYeoYT The button on my SC31 Pro started to crack after a month of use and they offered me USD $3 compensation that I declined in favour of a replacement button. They seem reluctant to post replacement buttons due to the cost of postage, I am in Australia too, and asked if I order another product, that I request a replacement button. As a side note: I don't really like the thin membrane button on the SC31 Pro, nor do I like the Anduril 2.0 UI, too much clicking needed with the weak membrane button. I much prefer the button and UI on my IF22a.
@@DarrenYeoYT yes but ordering from sofirn directly will cause huge unsuspected import costs I will not make that mistake again. Alieexpress is free from import costs

Ok thanks Jimmy, I'll think of some other beamshot locations.

Thanks for sharing! I remember someone else said it was pronounced 'fray-NELL'. Not sure now :D I appreciate your support man.
Just bought the sofirn if22a and wow , it's small but mighty .
Great brand for cheap powerful torches . Cheers
That was my first 'real' thrower. And got me addicted :D
Bought two from Sofirn for $9.95 each. They were having a sale so I bought the Sofirn Q8 Plus 16,000 lumens with diffuser for $76.95.
Score! Haha I mean why not right...
I envy your ambition, I get burned out just obsessing over lights let alone trying to post videos about it lol

The S is silent in Fresnel. I know, I've mispronounced it most of my life..😅😮

That's awesome man haha. I had no idea. I thought it was German or something.

Won't work with CR123 - different voltage and the battery tube is to long to contact. It's a nice little EDC :)

One thing I never see is some high powered beamshots in places like the grand canyon etc.. that'd be awesome if you recorded some :D@@jlappin6277

@@DarrenYeoYT very true. The problem is you live in Australia I live in New York. We have some nice mountains here in New York though.
Never been a fan of the Fresnel lens. I have a Wurkkos 04 that uses the same lens. But the throw is very poor and no clear hotspot
I prefer reflectors myself, but it does well to reduce the size of this light.

Ah yeah, that's the only thing I didn't like about it unfortunately. Mine has lasted fine so far.
I'd just contact Sofirn and get a new one mailed to me. It's still under warranty @1 month.

Agree mate, the metal button is way better. Even those larger rubber switches you see on the SC31 Pro are preferable@@toddmel7876
