I'm really grateful for this video I am a home baker and this video gave me life! I live in Dallas Texas and I struggled a little with packaing and this filled in some of the things I struggled with because I am now shipping quite a few items. I already knew to freeze my items but i didn't think to check on final pick up not knowing my items could be sitting on a dock all day. This video was very informative.

Really good info here. With my business, the biggest hurdle I've encountered is shipping cost. Because my items need to stay refrigerated, (part of my business is pre-formed cookie dough)I haven't found a solution that I can pass along to the customer. I currently use USPS or UPS. As you know, overnight shipping is very expensive. Most people are not going to spend $40-50 just on shipping for a product that's costing them $25-30. This time of year I can use standard, or 2 day air, but during the summer I can't.

You are the best! Thank you so much for this informative video you have a new sub! So many people have so much info that they don’t want to share because they’re scared of an over saturated commerce but the food industry can literally never be like that so that you for sharing this information! (Ps, you can freeze marshmallows 😊)

Hi, do you freeze cookies, brownies etc sealed in their own pouch (which goes directly to the box when ready to ship)? Or do you only put them in a sealed pouch AFTER taking the baked goods out of the freezer?

you can, but the question is should you. maybe i'm wrong, but i'd venture to say most bean-to-bar makers really frown on it, especially for milk chocolate since it has more fat and sugar. i mean, hershey-level 'chocolate' no one would think twice about, it's junk to begin with. i just doubt craft chocolate makers have this in mind when they ship a product as evidenced by watching many of their videos and not a single one of them freezes it. dunno for sure, though....

@@manlymcstud8588 I actually make chocolate bean to bar. It’s not frowned upon. Seeding the chocolate stabilizes it, it’s best to vacuum seal it prior to freezing it; however, doing so does not affect the taste, texture, or quality. You can actually freeze up to a year.

@@MayneJaxon you don't have a problem with blooming or condensation as the bar defrosts? i've heard of them freezing the beans, just not the finished product cuz they suggest temperatures to eat and store at (67-70F). just relaying what i've heard, not trying to change your methods.

Whew! Not impossible but definitely going to limit your options. Your must haves would be: insulated packaging, no sweat ice packs, overnight shipping
