The transitions in this episode was on another level. From Luffy remembering the promise he made to Kinemon to them being laid out on the floor. I can't stop talking about how good this episode was. You know it's good when they release more then one clip💯
and when the clips are back to back, like right after this is the roof piece clip
Best one was Oden saying "if I am dead, they will be the ones to strike down Kaido" and then Luffy walks through the burning flames of Oden's execution.

I love how he says it with the music and all, he also says it very calmly, but still knowimg he's late.
That episode was SO GOOD!
Edit: He also says it in a very luffy like way for me, and yeah, kins crying sounded SO real, it was wonderful, also the hard-cut where all of the scabbards are standing before him, then boom, all laying done, defeated and probably ashamed too.

The way zoro clenched his fist around his sword really hit me hard. Thats a man who knows and understands EXACTLY how kinemon feels right now. He understands the samurai culture, he practically lives it. The feeling of failing at what you have sworn to do, what you have dedicated your life to doing, thats soul shattering for a man like them.
Not just for samurai but for men even in real life , most of us are bad loser , we dont accept defeat and we feel frustrated when we dont accomplish what we re striving for or working for
Even with hard work, we couldn't accept it the defeat.

“Of course I will” the same words he said to Nami back in the Arlong Park Arc. I also love they way Luffy delivers the line “it’s my friends country” and the way Kinemon looks at him, pauses and just breaks down. So sad yet so powerful.
Arlong Park still sits with me. Ep 37 is truly terrific.
Reminds me of when Vivi wanted to go alone to save her country from Crocodile and Luffy just sat down and wouldn't budge...and they got in a fight and Luffy told her he's her friend...it was her country, but his friend's life at stake as well...Alabasta was such a good Arc. I really hope we get a movie remake of Dressrosa too.

The music cutting out right at the moment is a nice touch. And yeah, that specific little scene is one of my favorites in the series. Though I guess that could be expanded a bit to the whole roof piece lol
Luffy walking right passed Big Mom and Kaido while they were talking to him so he could check on the Akazaya is something we all saw coming, but was still very well done. The sign of a great character: You can predict how they will act in a situation based on how you've seen them act over the years.
And that hard jump cut from the Akazaya being okay to them on the ground for the maximum emotional gut punch? *chef's kiss*
Also, the akazaya 9 are all exactly in the same positions as they were before the transition. So much thought put into this animation. Heart wrenching.

Everytime I watch this scene, I freaking start crying the second that Luffy cuts Kin'emon off right as he's about to beg for help. Kin was so prepared to have to convince Luffy but then is hit with a deeper understanding of the kind of man and friend that Luffy is. Those are the tears of a man who has found a friendship to forever treasure. Keep in mind that his "best friend" betrayed him like an hour ago
this! you can genuinely see the disbelief on kin'emon's face when he realizes that he and the scabbards were never fighting alone, if he fails here, luffy gon' keep it pushin because they're friends! that's what friends do.

Surprised nobody is talking about that quick cut to Zoro gripping his swords in anger when seeing Kinemon (a samurai/swordsman) mortified by his own defeat. The same the same way Zoro was when he lost to Mihawk. Such a great attention to detail and consistency with these characters. 🤌🏾

It’s so beautiful how Luffy immediately interrupts Kinemon before he asks and begs to fulfill his wish, to free their country and to save them all.
He's got that future sight for a reason.
In doing so, he also prevents Kin'emon, a samurai and proud leader of the Scabbards, from having to beg - something he'd eternally have to wear as a stain upon his honor.
Luffy is a person you can trust your life to and never worry about being betrayed. Kinemon was ready to beg for Luffy to carry Wano on his back but Luffy cut him off and said ofc he will almost offended Kinemon thought otherwise👏🏾👏🏾
So is zoro, bon clay, pedro , oden and chouchou that dog that protect it's owners shop
Knowing Luffy, he probably was offended "how dare you even ask me that?! You're my friend now and there's no going back!" 😂
Words can hardly describe just how good this episode was. The jump cut from the memory to the present, the contrast with lighting really sells the contrast in mood and seriousness. The score is so effective too. So many bits in this episode were amazing. Easily the best episode yet, and ep. 126 is really hard to top! Can't wait till the "drums of the liberation"!

@@B1ackLotu5 Eh... I don't think so because I'm pretty sure they're going to ramp up the pacing for Roof Piece now that they have a significant chapter to episode gap.
So instead of one for one we will get 2 for 1 or even 3 for 1.
@@JamesMerlaut if ya say so this is just my assumption considering the next episode is literally a filler recap episode and we know those typically take a few episodes so I think they might string this along for quite a while
@@JamesMerlaut eh it wasn’t even one for one for about 6 months. I noticed that they only did like half a chapter or so sometimes and just filled it. It’s only recently become one for one
The scene with Kinemon hit me harder than Red Roc could ever do..
Yeah, it makes Luffy's Red Roc on Kaido even more satisfying.

"i feel chagrined" :( the panel of kin'emon crying already brought me to tears when the chapter initially came out but this....i was bawling i'm really serious. i have so much respect for kin'emon, since the day oden died his life has been hurdles and hurdles no time for rest. yet here, despite being at death door, coughing up blood, his only concern is the fact that if he dies he has nothing to show to his lord but deep shame. and since we know how great of a person oden was, the length at which kin and the others scabbards are willing to go in order to fulfill his dream feels real and justified. i love this saga.
Right! Over and over trial after trial and he never gave up. To see him cry and almost beg for Luffy to hold wano on his back was truly a tear jerker. I respect kin so much. He became a favorite of mine

@@deuce5546 Right!? That's what I love about OP, Oda can introduce some of the wackiest characters ever and then pull a whole 180 and make them super popular/loveable. Characters like Bon Clay, Senor Pink, Yasuie all started out super goofy but eventually became beloved

I teared up first time watching it. Imagine the pain Kin’emon feels when he says he is ashamed - knowing how he feels about Oden and how long and badly they’ve wanted to take down Kaido. Kin loves Oden so much so for him to say that hits deep. Even Luffy was taken aback.
It really is hard to watch, though at the same it's hard not to feel bad for him.
Weirdly, I'd have to say this was my favorite part of the episode. The transition from before they go to Onigashima to the current harsh reality, Kinemon's va being absolutely amazing, and the amount of emotion from the scene itself. This scene had the biggest impact to me personally.

My god the voice acting was absolutely ridiculously amazing! And the transitions was all over the place this episode!
Even if Zoro face didn't show just the grip on his sword shows the sadness and anger he felt
It really made you feel they're pain. But it also made you feel Luffy's frustration. We all know if he could have been there at the same time as them he would have. He genuinely felt bad about being late.

Never watched One Piece but the transition from all those guys standing there to them all being dead was a master class in how to direct a scene.
That’s Megumi Ishitani for you. She’s easily becoming one of the best directors in the industry just for her contribution to One Piece alone.

The past 3 episodes made me realize why I love one piece so much. Thank you for everything you have taught me. This isn't just an anime. This masterpiece taught me how to live, how to dream, how to be resilient, disciplined and it gave me so much to live for. It truly feels like you are on a journey with the whole crew and experience it together. What a true gem and we are so lucky to be alive at this moment to experience this beauty while it's unfolding
Zorro´s anger, Luffy´s anger Kin´s sadness and his feeling of ashameness towards Oden, woah this episode destroyed it it was out of this world
Warm take: This is actually my favorite part of the episode. Red Roc was amazing and so was the part with Luffy stading in front of Roger, but this scene really displays the emotion from the Akazaya Nine, Luffy's conviction, and Kaido's brutality.
Zoro gripping his swords harder just......... damn, the feel.

Kin'emon's voice actor was my favorite in this episode. The last thank you that didn't feature in this video was amazing.
The real MVP of episode 1015 is Prometheus for providing that beautiful red sun like filter.
There is absolutely no words to even describe this episode. been a week since Ive watched it and Im still at a loss for words. The voice acting, angles, scenes and direction - there is no other way I would have wanted Roof Piece to be animated. I am so glad I waited for the anime.

Zoro like a predator, watching both yonkos closely with the eye of the tiger, ready for of one of them is taking luffy by suprise.

I get the impression that, at least in Wano, having to rely on others or even admitting fault is seen as a stain upon one's honor
Back in Punk Hazard, Kin'emon was reluctant to admit he was out of his own league, that he needed help
Even when a shark was eating his upper half, he went out of his way to pretend he wasn't feeling pain
But as he began to spend more and more time with the Strawhats and saw how far they were prepared to go for the sake of their friends, he began to slowly mellow out
And now, as he reaches his lowest point, at death's door against an impassable wall, he practically begs Luffy to finish what he started because he's the only one he can ask
But Luffy doesn't even hesitate to grant his request; not because they're allies, but because they're friends
Luffy doesn't need any other reason
This crushes what little pride Kin'emon has left, but he passes out knowing that Luffy won't allow his efforts to go to waste

Zoro clutching his sword and his hand showing the emotion instead of his face is TOP TIER. He completely understands what Kino'mon is feeling in his being defeated after vowing to avenge Oden and free the land of Wano. As a fellow swordsman who lost to mihawk and made a promise to never lose again Zoro gets it, the crushing shame as a samurai of making a vow you couldn't keep. On top of that seeing them all played out and at deaths door, I'm sure Zoro feels like he arrived to late.

I feel disgusted that this NEEDS to be praised, but i am very grateful that i learned that i am allowed to have and Show emotions when i did, where from being irrelevant, as that lesson helped me through some dark times

When his eyes are hidden luffy appears to be another person, its always amazing to see
