You saved my life! Your solution solved all the issues I had with my installation. I managed to stick the resistors on the sides of the box itself, without them touching anything else. Cheers! 🎉
Thanks for posting these videos! The resistor worked like a charm. Prior to the resistor mod, when I apply physical pressure on the gates as they are opening or closing; they’ll close or open just as they should. If I let pressure off, and allow it to spring forward taking the resistance off the gates; it’ll lock out the command just as the video shows. I believe the controller will sense the resistance; if it doesn’t see any resistance, then it’ll lock out the current command. This is why the added resistor fixes the problem, it gives the controller a false impression that there is load against the motor. It locks out in normal situations because the gates either hit a neutral resistance spot as it’s opening or a point where it swings open without the assistance of the openers. Thanks again!
Guys if u have the problem where it opens up but jumps back and starts closing even tho it opened all the way U NEED TO ADJUST the other screw which u should „not touch“. I just adjusted it and it worked perfectly!!
Thanks a lot for sharing this solution, no doubt I have to add the resistors, could you suggest how to set the Potentiometers Wheels values?? as I Understood you use the maximun in each wheel, is that correct??
Thank you for sharing your experience. Seems a lot of people have the same issue with this controller. Do you know whether the soft stop function does only work on one motor or should work on both? I have the same problem like in the video but also that soft close does only work on motor 2.
I have a single arm topens A3 it says on the sticker on the arm that its 30 watts , would that mean i would need a different size resistor then the one you are using ? If so what would you recommend? Thank you.
dear sir, i have same opening problem with my TOPEN 5132 swing gate opener i believe i need same modification on my TOPEN5132 to get it working so could you please tell me the value of the resistor you used between pin 15&16 also on pin 20&21 to correct the fault. thanks
Do you have a schematic of how you hooked it up with the resistors? I tried to follow along with the video but it is a little difficult. Thanks in advance!
Sorry for the late reply. connecting a resistor to the BLACK & RED wires of the arm in parallel. (one arm connect one resistor, total two resistor are needed)
Are you using a single or dual opener? If dual is it both arms stopping short? Did you check to see if the limit switches were moved when it was pushed? If not check to make sure the arms are not bent and its binding. If its a current/electrical issue then you add a resistor like in the video.
This opener is a piece of junk! The limits don't work correctly sometimes it opens all the way and other times it doesn't . Scratched my truck all up!~!! Why should I have to have to put resistors in? The mighty mule I put in at the house prior worked perfectly for five years and still is. Customer Service is terrible non existent. They want you to do all via email!!
PLEASE PLEASE...SUBSCRIBE TO MY CHANNEL HELP ME HELP OTHERS SOLVE PROBLEMS WITH THEIR GATE OPENER
Do you a recommendation for a swing gate 110-120 v. Mine opens but the slave gate won’t close.
I have a resistor to try. I would love to send a picture of the diagram I have
Either one will work . Make sure the control board setting is on dual
You can send it
I diagram is in the video. Remember depends on your symptoms it can be a configuration issue and the resistor is not required

Brilliant !! Good that you got it sorted and you understand the logic

I need your assistance directly. Is there another medium i can use to relay my problem more fluently?

@@automateyourgatehi where can I purchase the relays?
Resistors

The A3 uses 30 watts at 1.5 Amps. You will need 16 ohm resistor
How do you remove the terminal blocks to wire gate arms?

Hi There, I have the same problem whit my gate, how big is the transistors you put in to solve the problem. Thanks. George

What resistors did you purchase?

Can you provide a Video on how you wired this Please? I'm having the same problem but mine is at our cottage and is the solar powered system, Thanks
I will do a video soon on the wire up. It is very simple if you have some level of electrical installation experience
Ok so I haven't had access to another motor like this at the moment. The from the video from about 9:21 you should be able to understand the wire up.
What was the vales of the resistors that you use

Which resistors to buy and from where? Please advise. Thanks.
I have the same problem.
50w 25ohm wire wound ... bought them on Amazon.com
Thank you for sharing, my gate does open properly but doesn't close
Also do you know why the resistors fix the problem
the motor current is too small so adding the resistor in parallel will increase the load. Thats my take and its working well to date
Hi you have problem with Master and slave you can't add Electric lock
You cannot get to add the magnetic lock. Are you sure you have all your wires correctly connected
Where can I get a resistor from
Amazon it's in the comments
Will a 50w 33 ohm work
Am not sure but the 50W 25ohm worked well for me based on my calculations. I will not go higher
I'm having this issue because someone pushed my gate open just enough to get inside and now it stops at that distance from the stop.

Same problem here. Will try email support but Amazon is likely going to have this one back.
