    Thank you for the info!
    From ghost controls the part number for the diode they use is.

    Thank you so much for this video! We were having the EXACT same issue! So we opened up the arm and then did the battery test and that little diode exploded! Cut the remaining wire in two, connected it to a battery and the arm worked! Since the diode exploded, we don't have one to take in and find one like it. Can you tell me what the best replacement diode is for this?

      Excellent....Glad of that the video helped. P6KE Series - 600W Axial Leaded Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) Diode . Little difficult to find. Am not sure if all the Ghost Controls models carry the same diode number/ rating. Verify with Ghost controls Technical support

    Good information but if I was you I would tell them send me a new one.

      I believe the next one would have come with the same issue. They were the ones that directed to right away to issue. So its something to look out for. If you having this problem. Maybe they will fix it one new models. Also they said its caused by lightning 🌩

    Either that diode had too much current through it or the polarity was reversed during installation or factory testing.

      @automateyourgate  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      or "lightening" ...most likely a factory defect

    Wht would happen if you connect the arms directly to the 12v power and it smell like burning ...you burn the bord on the arms?

    • @automateyourgate
      @automateyourgate  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Directly to the 12v battery you should positive to positive and negative to negative the arm should run if you reverse the connection it should run in the opposite direction. There should be no burning smell. Never connect Directly to the Solar wires. The solar voltage can be hire than 12vdc

    What does it mean if all the led lights are steady and not even the switch turns it off.

    Did you Just cut the diode off or did you have to replace it and was it on both arms?

    • @automateyourgate
      @automateyourgate  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi I cut it off the arms. Take note of how its installed before you cut it off. So when you ready to replace it, you can install it the correct way

    Did you replace the diode or did you just remove it?

      Removed it but try to replace it if you have easy access to that type

    alot of the problems come from different boards. if you buy a single swing operator the board will be built or made specifically for a single swing gate. when you purchase a dual swing gate system the board will be made for 2 swing arms. with that being said the main problem is when you place the wires into their respective correct connections you are not putting solder on the wire. By not doing this the wires will stick out a little and it will touch or ground out the system. every time the power is energized to operate the swing arms it will blow fuses. the fix probably happened when he moved the wires and he re-twisted the wires to fit the openening of the connectors.
    finding the diode cracked was a result of the wires not properly being soldered. by soldering the wires it will make it better for the wires to be screwed down with more tension as well as all the wires being put in the receptacle. this really is a fool proof system. general knowledge of wiring should be had and exercised. when ever you are putting a wire into a small hole such as these board connectors always use solder.

      Not all manufacturers have an individual board for a single arm and a dual arm. Some uses the same board for both single, dual and even slide gate motor. They do this by simply placing a dip switch on the circuit board or you have to input the type of configuration via a LCD on the board. This will tell the Eprom what configuration you have. Soldering the ends is one good method of termination but its not necessary in this case. Unless you do not know how to strip wires to the correct length and twist them when installing then connector, making sure no exposed strand is there and only the insulation is being shown. If you cannot do that then you shouldn't be doing this. Of course if there are strands all over the wires and you power the board it will cause some serious issues and I can guarantee that the circuit board and the motor would not have worked again. This is a genuine manufacturing fault. The doide is in the circuit as a protection from high current that can be caused by lightening etc this unit is fully solar operating. When the issue was raised with the manufacturer they knew straight away knew what the issue was. I never saw this problem with no other manufacturer and its not the first for this particular model hence the reason so many people have the issue. Therefore its not necessarily down to installation alone.

      @automateyourgate  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What model gate opener you have. Check the cover to see what the continuos beeps means. Possible battery low or ac voltage, arm motor issues

      @@automateyourgateIts a TSS1 single swing in 2019 I bought from Amazon. I'll go out today with a VOM and check voltages I'll change the battery too. The arm has been growling on open but not on close for about 6 months. The Zombie lock solenoid ticks with each LED flash and beep. So I know the board is partially working but in some error state. I'll get back to you later with more details. Thanks for the quick reply.

      Reprogramming the stops. Let me know what model. Remember if you are installing it to pull open. You cannot adjust he open limit. The arms must be fully retracted and mounted with the gate in its full open position
