Everyone thought that the ZR1 would have 850 hp, since there were rumours about the Zora going around, which would have had a 1000 hp. Plus, 850 hp would have been a 100 hp jump, over the C7 ZR1 from 755. Also, the performance shouldn't be that surprising once you do the math. The Ferrari SF90 Stradale's engine generates 780 hp from a displacement of 4 L. That puts it at 195 HP/L. Multiply 195 by 5.5 L and you get 1072 HP, which is pretty much bang on the HP number from GM for the ZR1.

@@HorsePowerObsessed I was told by Boost district this is the Zora several months ago and there is an electric motor in the front. So this is all wheel drive as well.
@@nicklovely6431the ZR1 is TT FPC only, there’s no hybrid assistance. The Zora will be the LT7 + E ray motor. There are test mules for the Zora that are out and about right now.

@@imperfekt_zen something that only comes out of america, mass produced cars are the way to go, limited production cars like the ford GT and other one off supercars serve no purpose but to show off a manufacturers stock capabilities. mass producing fast cars and letting the aftermarket eat it up will always be the way to go and should get the recognition instead of hypercars and supercars you will never see.

I think Chevy is targeting each number in the drag strip from 11s to 8s. The base C8 stingray is a mid-low 11s car. The Z06 and E-Ray are mid 10s, this new ZR1 on paper is clearly a 9s car probably mid 9s. And I have feeling the Zora will target 8s. They might add 2 battery packs on that to squeeze at least 200 more hp with AWD out this engine and try to best the Lucid Sapphire at an 8.9 or 8.8 while being lighter then them. Chevy is going for records and it only makes sense based on the competition around them

supercar or not, aftermarket sportscars have always been better than limited production super/hypercars built for no reason other than to gain recognition as a company and hype factor. nobody has done more for the car community than the big 3 american companies with the hemi,LS,Coyote, and other great aftermarket platforms that outperform any bracket of supercars for a fraction of the price but most big euro fans will completely discredit that because some guy on top gear said american cars are cheap.

INCREDIBLE! So proud of Chevy for going all out on this car. It’s over my budget I’m sure, but I’ll happily stay with a Z06. Just having the ZR1 as the halo car in the lineup is a feat to be proud of! I’m guessing base around 155-160 and 225 maxed out. ZTK would be a MUST so, def can’t afford.
