Had a hysterectomy at 33 years old after severe endometriosis. Am now 66 years old. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING CHANGED. I got my life back. Best decision I ever made. No more pain, no more Pms. I also kept a piece of 1 ovary. No hormones were prescribed. Best thing that ever happened to me.
Glad you had no changes and it was the best decision for you. However, everyone is different and this can be very scary. I do not take anything Jessuca talks about as nonsense.
Hello just got surgery discharged July 23 everything was success recovery time will take longer 4-6 weeks no heavy lifting 5-10lbs. I had hysterectomy laparoscopic into vagina. Uterus Cervix and the Fallopian Tube remove. I have 2 surgery before Fibroids D&C hysteroscopy myomectomy about 9.2cm had remove because of my abnormal bleeding lost of blood the first surgery was fine I never had my period for one year after the following year it started again been bleeding over 3 months now I finally decided to have Hysterectomy. I am 52 Yrs old and my kids are adults all normal deliveries. Thank you so much have this video shared and I am grateful!!!! She mention about the cervix here on the video as what I know is your vaginal wall or length through the canal will not affect during this procedure since you want to keep it nice and long my doctor said they will actually remove only the parts needed it wont affect and they will stich it back to normal. Thank you Jesus for healing and miracle on surgery and speedy recovery.🙏❤🩹
Please do me a favour and never ever take HRT. I took two weeks of this on the horrible, very pushy advice of a friend nine years after my full hysterectomy for Endometriosis and now I have the full blown disease back for the past two and a half years and no clue how I am going to get rid of it. Save 15,000 for surgery abroad is basically what it is looking like as no one in Ontario "believes" in Endo post full hysterectomy
@@teleciaroyal6597never ever take HRT in future if you do this surgery. I was nine years pain-free and took two weeks of it and it brought back the Endo full blown
This is informative. Guys like me should also watch this and have an understanding what happens after the operation. Guys are usually not ''symphatetic'' so this will help.
@@Training_WheelsI do this too for some reason. I’m a guy, I try to learn a lot of science things for fun, so I enjoy learning about my girlfriends endometriosis. I hope she gets relief soon.
I just want you to know how much these videos have helped me mentally and emotionally. In 3 months I will be having the exact same surgeries, I am 36 years old and am genuinely terrified and trying to google any information is doing more damage than good lol. So thank you so much for making these videos you truly are a blessing!!
Hey… complete stranger here. You are closer to my age than most women who get these surgeries. I may have to get one bc of my endometriosis, how do you feel after yours? I’m worried about weight gain…
@chelseasacoustic3487 mine is 19days away and terrified I have severe anxiety and this has made it worse mine is adenomyosis and possibly endo but won't know until they go in. I'm 36 and terrified as well
Thank you for being so open about your experience. This really helped me. I am having surgery in a few months for a subtotal hysterectomy. I was panicking about the after and thinking of backing out of surgery because of misinformation others had put on the Internet telling me I could never be normal again or experience sexual pleasure post hysterectomy. This gave me hope. Thank you.
My beautiful ladies I had my full hysterectomy 4 months ago my two ovaries are there ,my experience is I wish I had it long time ago I feel happy woman no more pain my husband is very happy because no mood swing I feel more young no more sex pain... anything she telling us 100% true

Thanks for sharing your hysterectomy story. I had a full hysterectomy- removal of my uterus, cervix, and fallopian tubes in 2022 at the tender age of 50. The linen of my uterus was embedded with fibroids and I had a huge fibroid the size of a melon that had grown outside of my uterus; connected to my uterus from a stem that looked like a bone. From the photos it looked like I was carrying twins. In fact, my uterus had grown to the size of a woman that’s 7mos pregnant so I looked pregnant. My surgeon decided to keep both of my ovaries because they were so thick and in tact; according to my surgeon’s statement and Pelvic MRI- like that of a 20yr old. In addition, I still had so many eggs left and prior to my hysterectomy, I was still having menstrual cycles. My twin sister and I are now 52 and she still has a monthly cycle which means I would too had I not had the hysterectomy. Overall, I feel great and am still se*ually active with hubby. After my 6wk post-surgery checkup with my doctor, she said the cuff had healed well and I could have se*. Lastly, my surgeon performed a bikini incision and I was glued back together. You can’t even tell I had surgery. I was up and walking the day after my surgery and was fully healed within 6wks. I also did not take any pain medication. It was the BEST decision I made.
I just found your video on my feed, saw the title and knew I had to watch. I can’t believe I’m going to share this, but…I had an emergency hysterectomy at 44 due to massive blood loss during my periods. I have no children, I am now 54, post-menopausal (kept my ovaries). I always knew I had a “short” vaginal canal. At no point pre-surgery did my surgeon ever tell me that in removing my cervix, it would get even “shorter.” Sex was incredibly painful afterwards, to the point my husband became scared because he did not want to hurt me. Result? We have not had intercourse in 8 years. We love each very much but our marriage has obviously suffered. The lack of intimacy just grew into what is now a sexless marriage. I am embarrassed, ashamed, feel guilty all the time, and I don’t know how or what to do to fix it. I figure I’m probably “frozen” at this point. So, I’m watching this in tears, wishing I had had a better surgeon, that I asked more questions. Thank you for doing this video, I think and hope you can help a lot of women avoid the sad situation I’m in now.
thank you so much. going through a similar surgery in a few weeks at 16 yo. don't want to be "frozen" like that at such an early age. I will be sure to ask LOTS of questions to get the best option
I’m 43 and I’m having total hysterectomy due to fibroids, my surgery next week sep 19th, I’m glad to see so positive and motivated videos liked this one, I’m so worried about having total hysterectomy, so afraid not feel feminine and about my sex live to be painful or different from now, thanks god my husband is always by my side supporting me through this difficult time for both of us, at least I’ll keep both of my ovaries.
Almost getting to operating room, not nervous at all, my medical team is very kind, supportive and friendly that makes me feel more confident.. in the name of god everything will be okay…🙏🙏🙏
I had a hysterectomy due to fibroids. My doctor said keeping the cervix gives more support to the pelvic wall. I have never had children but did not want to end up with a prolapse so I kept my cervix. If you test negative for HPV and have the same partner, annual pap tests are not required. One thing that really made me want to keep my cervix is because of the "vaginal cuff". That is where they sew up the top of the vagina where the uterus and cervix used to connect. I read horror stories of women having a vaginal "blow out" during sex ( the vaginal cuff split open) and I certainly did not want that! It is one of the risks of removing the cervix.
Great informative video. I’m 7 weeks post op, I had everything out through abdominal incision. Overall I’m feeling pretty good. After suffering from multiple fibroids, endometriosis and adenomyosis having a hysterectomy has been a blessing!🙏🏻❤
@@sunshine.rays01 Yes I had my ovaries removed too, and honestly I feel really good, I take a low dose of hrt via a patch and I can report everything is in fine working order( in fact better) 😉 Best of luck with your op X
Thanks for your candid and open discussion on this sensitive, but really important subject though i am a guy with a wife who died to cancer 20 years ago I've got 4 friends that have lost their wives to uterine and cervical cancer they were/are devastated by their loss as well as myself to,our best friends and mates!! I appreciate your channel it really helps with strengthening and stretching my body, i believe you use good science and helpful instruction !! And for bravely sharing your story maybe someone won't die because of your sharing!!!
Thank you Jessica for these videos- I am 5 weeks post hysterectomy and your advice has been so helpful- in fact I am doing my kegels right now while typing. In this video the idea of "mourning" before going into surgery- yes! I am a Life Cycle Celebrant- so naturally I thought about rituals and ceremonies on how to say "goodbye" to my uterus. Before my surgery I "took" my uterus (aka myself) to favorite places, took photos and documented on my social media our goodbye tour. We went leaf peeping, mountain biking on our favorite trail, to a concert, and we looked through photo albums together of our pregnancy photos. It was a proper goodbye, and I built up such as story about our final adventures- the surgery felt like teamwork and I had no problem letting go. It was all good fun but sweet and helpful too.
I was diagnosed with a very rare uterine lining; Atypical Polypoid adenomyoma. I had a hysterectomy as a result to keep from any cancer to develop...I'm going through bit of a mourning period after the procedure because I'm only 29 but I have a lot of moments where I feel so empowered and beautiful to finally be heard and stood up for myself health wise when it truly mattered and I have my life back which I never thought would happen.
@jireeli Praying your surgery goes smoothly 🫶🏻 over all I feel so great and do not regret getting my hysterectomy at all now that I finally have my life back, I had so many issues with my periods before and not having one Is life changing! I'm not sure what type of hysterectomy you will have but for me I still have my ovaries so they do still work and cramp lightly once a month to every couple months (just as an fyi because I was not expecting this). The only thing I am still mixed on is the fact that I can't have any children without going through a surrogate, I had my heart set on adopting or fostering for so long because my body was just never working right but now that the option of being able to carry my own children is completely gone has been a little hard to deal with.
So imformative, thank you so much. These things are not discussed enough via our doctors. It's such a scary place to be in after a hysterectomy with zero info on how to take care of ourselves in everyway. I'm three weeks post op now, I had terrible Fibroids for most of my adult life thinking they would shrink in Menopause. This did not happen, once I was in Peri Menopause they grew rapidly, my uterus was the size of a 20 week pregnancy and still growing. So glad I had it, I'm 51 and still want to be active in my life, I'm just so scared, I wish I had found these before I had my Hysterectomy but am so glad I have now.
I’m 7 weeks po and I was extremely alarmed when I found out my canal could shrinkafter surgery (and it did make a difference with sex at first). I was also one of those ppl who worried about the cervix because it was something I used sexually or so I thought. You cleared that up. Thank you so much!!
Thank for the video. Today i just being diagnose for uterus cancer. i'm 40 yrs old and havent have kids. its kinda sad and hit me mentally. but seems there's only one solution to help my life. When watch this video, its really help me and giving more what will be happen after the operation done
This is such a great informative video. I am 38 and had a hysterectomy almost 3 years ago and now zero libido. I found this video searching for help to increase my libido again for myself and my husband.
Hysterectomy doesn't affect all women in the same way....I had one over 30yrs ago...But it hasn't and didn't affect my sex live at all....its still very strong...each women body is not the same..💯👋🏾👋🏾
I’m 42, having a hysterectomy due to endometriosis/adenomyosis and fibroid. Having sex now, is painful. I’m looking forward to end the misery that I’ve been battling for several years. I will be keeping my cervix and both ovaries
Well of course. If you're just having a hysterectomy then they're taking out the uterus but I'm surprised they're leaving the cervix since it's part of the uterus. If they were taking out your ovaries then that would be an oophorectomy,a separately named surgery sometimes done the same time as a hysterectomy.
Thank you for speaking to the sense of loss before the surgery. I’ve been feeling so emotional thinking about losing my reproductive system. The female doc I consulted with was NOT compassionate about this, so I’m looking for another doc.
@@ankra12 I’m way past child rearing but feel my creativity and vibrancy is sourced by my reproductive system. My new doc was way more understanding around my sense of loss
I never had children and it’s too late now anyway at 52, but I’m still cycling. I’m getting a hysterectomy from fibroids, and ovarian cysts in a few months and I have been grieving the loss of my womb. It makes me cry. It’s part of what makes us women and it’s leaving my body soon. I know I’ll be ok but the sense of loss is real.
Thank you for being brave enough to talk openly about this! I think it's so helpful and so important for us to be able to talk about it openly- it makes it less scary! Thank you and take care X
Thank you for your honest comments regarding your surgeries. I am scheduled for the same surgery in the next month and you’ve helped me develop questions for my doctor.
I’m so grateful for this super informative video! You have covered absolutely all real questions that start bombarding women’s mind right before the operation !
@@tonjamollan6369I live in Mexico. The uterus and the myomas (fibroids) were so big it was better to opt for open surgery. The recovery time is longer but the doctor was able to see everything and took important decisions. I was left with one ovary. My quality of life has improved a lot. The scar is almost invisible and the anemia is gone. (= Hormones are adjusting, but so much better than before. Hope it helps!
The worst decision that I ever made was the removal of my uterus. Sex SUCKS and men can tell that something is missing be it less enjoyable. I had my hysterectomy in 2018 ,the took everything except my ovaries and I feel great no pain with sex bc unfortunately I suffered from endometriosis for years and I was done having children. It was a great decision for me ! This video had very true info
My wife has just had this everything taken away apart from her ovaries due to stage 4 endometriosis, not only was she in pain everyday because of this condition it also made sex painful for her as well, she is only in recovery day 2 but as well as been out of pain on a daily basis she and I really hope she doesn't experience pain during sex anymore as we are both still young (early 30s) so sex is a big part of our life's still, reading your comment has given us great hope that her pain will subside and we can potentially get back to having a normal sexlife once she is fully recovered and ready
I had a histerectomy last 7th of January. Still recovering. My doctor advised sex with penetration, 2 months after the date of the surgery. He said after total recovering it will be totally normal. Thank you for this video.
Thank you so much for your honesty. I'm about to have a Partial Hysterectomy due to Fibroids, so my doctor had discussed the procedure with me, an after listening to you I feel much better. Thank you an keep on educating us women out here♥️

There's no "partial hysterectomy". It's a hysterectomy, period. Hysterectomy means uterus removal. They don't take out part of your uterus and leave the other part in you, that would be pointless. If you are thinking it's a partial hysterectomy because they aren't taking out your ovaries then you're wrong. Taking out the ovaries is a separately named surgery called an oophorectomy. They are often done at the same time but are still separately named. So if somebody says they had a complete hysterectomy meaning they had their ovaries taken out along with their uterus they are mistaken. A hysterectomy or a "complete hysterectomy" is just removal of the uterus only. Hyster is for uterus and ectomy is for removal of. If they had their ovaries taken out during the hysterectomy then it's called a hysterectomy with an oophorectomy. Do some research on the proper terminology for things and you'll be surprised at what you'll learn.
@@thelmadickinson2740 No no no,like I said there is no "partial hysterectomy." Hyster means uterus and ectomy means removal, plain and simple. There would be no good reason for a Dr to leave just a cervix in a woman and if they do they aren't being very smart. Take it out to prevent any chance of cervical cancer and because she doesn't need a cervix with no uterus. Besides that the cervix is part of the uterus.
I am happy I came across your video. I had my hysterectomy 7 wks ago and had my post-op check-up at 6wks. All was good and healed but still a few internal pains. For the first 2 wks, I felt I had gone to hell. After my check-up, my partner has been caring. When we were about to have sex he picked up I was scared and so we just did him. I am still concerned about the internal healing and I am patiently waiting for 12 wks time-lapse and so is my loving partner.
@@jodieeaves3186 I must apologize, Jodie, I have only just found your reply to my comment section of the Email Box. Oops. I first mention that I recovered well. But sex has changed big time for me. My orgasms were always connected with my uterus and now I feel nothing and am unable to orgasm. My health has been great even my Type 1 Diabetes that I have had for 6 decades has been the best it has ever been. But I am very sad that I can not enjoy sexual intercourse anymore. I had looked over a few TH-cam videos when I found that hard fact out. But I had to have the operation as eventually, it would have turned into cancer. I try very hard to not let it get me down too much, but I do have a wonderfully supportive partner who loves me.
@@amberm.2226 Hi Amber, it does return. I was operated on in April 2021 and I had the most joyous sexual moment with my partner at the end of November 2022. I was believing up until that moment that I was never going to experience that joy and excitement. But wow I was wrong. It does return. I did a lot of research before and after the surgery about the operation, recovery, exercises, and anything that was relevant to how I was feeling and thinking. Whatever you do not give up on your own self. Ask questions by way of the internet and Facebook, hysterectomy groups. Speak with whoever you can about anything that is worrying you. When my doctor told me about the state of my uterus, if I did not get it out I would have gotten cancer. So I am at peace now with all that has happened. The fear you are concerned about is okay and very understandable. If you have any more concerns speak with your doctor or Jessica whose channel we are chatting on. I can reply again if you want. Good luck OXOX

Well that's the only kind of hysterectomy there is. They don't do a partial one. That would mean taking out part of your uterus and leaving part of it. Hysterectomy means uterus removal and nothing else. Taking out the ovaries is an oophorectomy, a separately named surgery. They are often done at the same time.
Thank you so much Jessica for sharing your story. I began following your videos a few months ago after having my hysterectomy age 30yo. Making the decision to have surgery was (for me) the best thing I've ever done for similar reasons that you stated. Your videos are fantastic, they've been very helpful in my recovery :-)
Your videos have answered several questions I was hesitant to ask my doc who was so against having the procedure because of my age. I had my hysterectomy 7 weeks ago and turned 40 a few weeks after. Now after watching your videos I more or less know what to expect and actually looking forward to living a pain-free life after years of suffering through endometriosis. Thank you!
Had my hysterectomy the same as you on wednesday thank you so much for your videos they are great. I hurt really bad the first 3 days, but then ibprophen helped but the constipation is real and horrible. Finally walking and getting around good.
I had mine about 20 years ago and also wondered was sex hurt. I wish I would have known about the vagina canal. my doctors really did a bad job. Glad that women get so much more information noe.
Glad I found this video. I am 33 years old and found out today I need a hysterectomy. I'm nervous and have lots of different thoughts surrounding how I feel about it. I'm just trying to look at the positive outcome.
I was your age when I had mine. I’m now 66 and it was a life changing event for the better. I had had 2 surgeries for severe endometriosis 6 years earlier, had all the children I wanted and told the doctor I wanted it out! I wasn’t going back in every few years for more surgery. The surgery was hard, but I healed quickly, had 1 ovary and never took hormones. Best decision ever. Never noticed any difference in my sex life whatsoever.
@@malloryjines5050 thank you for the info! I'm glad you're doing so well. I hope that mine goes that good and doesn't effect my intimacy. I am a little worried about that.
Thank you jessica. I a a wk after my hysterectomy. I am trying your exercises gradually. This video is very informative, uplifting and encouraging. There is nothing to fear!
You are giving me hope since I am a week out from my hysterectomy. 8 year ovarian cancer survivor and when first diagnosed, I just had one ovary removed and kept everything else. But last week I needed the rest removed to decrease reoccurrence down the line. Can't wait to get back to exercising and body care which I hope will help my sex drive return.
I really needed to hear this today. I'm 62 and having mine next month because of endometrial hyperplasia with atypia. No cancer but the risk is there. You clarified everything even though my doctor pretty much told me the same thing. I'm having it done abdominally due to 2 previous c sections and she's going to go the same route. I've really been taking it hard that I'm having this done because I've finally been living my best life. The potential effect on my sex life has been very worrisome as it's never been better. Thank you for this video! I'll be watching it often for reassurance!
You are wise for them to take the service. I had mine three days ago. Full hysterectomy except they kept both of my ovaries. For seven consecutive years I have had three cancer cells every single year. And then had to get a colposcopy and elite procedure. Because the female cancers run in my family with my grandma having uterine cancer one aunt having breast cancer and somebody else had a cervical cancer, I knew that it was only a matter of time before they they came back cancerous. Plus I had developed polyps in my uterus which had a nine out of 10 chance of becoming cancerous very quickly. My endometrium was growing into the lining of my uterus and I had several fibroids. Not to mention I bled for seven weeks straight. Having microcytic anemia which is a rare form of anemia, I kept fainting. This resulted in a transfusion. I am three days out now. And my postop morning has stopped. I’m very happy about that. I’m still sore and crampy which is to be expected, but it’s far better than it was prior. I have three children at home with special needs and one who does not have special needs. The disabled ones, are severely disabled. I’m doing my best to try to live forever so I don’t have to leave them behind in the system after I’m gone. Also, there’s nobody to take care of me. So I couldn’t be stuck to a bad feeling with cancer for hours a day I try to get the hysterectomy with the abnormal cells after four years, but insurance wouldn’t cover it then. When all the other things came to fruition there was no argument. I’m already happy with the procedure and I have peace of mind that I don’t have to worry about having pre-cancerous cells on my cervix again and this is gonna be the time where it actually is cancer. It has made a tremendous difference simply not even have to worry about that anymore. I have enough to worry about. Thank you so much for making this video about the sex thing. I am too early on in the process to even consider that notion, but I was curious as to how things were going to be afterwards.
Can I just say, you look absolutely stunning, gorgeous & beautiful for 41. Thanks for bringing up the topic & sharing your story because I know, It’s not the easiest topic to talk about. Thank you, Happy holidays & God bless you & your family!!!
I think this is so important that you are sharing an empowering message of sexuality after hysterectomy. It's such a taboo subject. I co-run a non-profit for women who have gone through surgical menopause (The Surmeno Connection) due to a variety of women's health reasons. One thing I will share and I think it's important is that many women's post-op sexual experiences are not your own so it's important to present more than one viewpoint since we see so many devastated women on a daily basis because of sex. Fortunately, you were able to hold onto an ovary which has allowed your body to maintain proper hormone production even if it is at a lower rate and didn't toss you into Surgical Menopause abruptly like so many hysterectomized women. With one ovary, many times it will overcompensate and most women wind up feeling pretty good and still have their sex drive maintained. Women with both ovaries removed definitely struggle so much more with sex and their sexuality as some women lose their sex drive altogether, experience a lack of internal sensation and sex (they literally feel numb and lose sexual sensation as the result of surgery), and pain during sex (which as you mentioned can be helped with some meds). I hope you will keep making videos on these topics as you are an empowering voice. I just need to share that every woman's sex life is different post-op. Some women are ok like yourself and some women really are not from a sexual standpoint and they feel very isolated and alone. Those women were not prepared for what happened to them and it's important to give their experiences a voice as well.
Yes, as I always make clear, every woman is different and needs to be an advocate for themselves and find answers for what they are experiencing. If a woman is having issues I highly recommend seeing a women's health physical therapist to start and to remember that you don't have to simply "live with it". There are steps to take in order to feel empowered again in your body.
Thank you for making this video!! ❤ I just had a Hysterectomy this morning with uterus, tubes, and cervix removed. I was able to keep my ovaries. I am very active with outdoor sports and yoga. I will definitely subscribe and look for exercises I can do after surgery. Thank you.
They called mine a radical hysterectomy back early 90s. The one thing that really helped me stay away from Premarin was an herbal choice of black cohosh in Remifemin. Some of those hot flashes are down right horrible. This keeps me sane and a little drier! Helps a bit with mood swings too I think. I love that your excercise is slow and impactful. I do not like heart pounding exercise anymore. Will be trying this on my lower back pains. Thanks for making it simple and meaningful as well. Most of all, thanks for sharing!

I am a male, but still,I honestly feel to have attended a cool medical counselling lecture... specially the introduction of four parts and their sequence of explaination.I have a passion for medical lectures, specially surgery and psychology like human behaviours.
Some men do. Some don't. In 53 years, I've never met anyone who was particularly good at it. It's extremely overrated. Usually, women use it as a manipulation tool based on this concept that "y'all have the goods and men want it.'' Couldn't it also be that the men have the goods and that women want it?
This is so helpful. I am having a laproscopic hysterectomy on Thursday. I was a nervous wrecking thinking about how it was going to inpact my sex life. Thank you again, this video is so informative.
Jeeze... I wish I would have found your channel prior to my radical hysterectomy! Now I'm freaking out! The 5 things after a hysterectomy video told me about possible medical problems from NOT having ovaries. NOW! This video I learn I should have told my Dr that I needed a longer vaginal canal to enjoy my sex life still! Ahhhhhh! Not being able to be able to continue to be highly active sexually With my husband?! I never knew that was a thing! I figured you'd still be able to have a sex life! 😭😭😭 this is why women still need their mothers later on in life! I had no idea I needed to request the length of my vaginally canal!
Same here. I get mine in 2 days and didn’t know that I need to request for my canal to be long enough to have enjoyable sex. Kinda freaking out here. Did your sex life go back to being enjoyable or tolerable?
I really needed to hear this after a full hysterectomy @35 due to endometrial cancer. I was scared on what was going to happen to my marriage. Thank you!!
I had my Hysterectomy done last year when I turn 50 my test came positive for pre-cancer stage 1 and for endometrial cancer. I cried an ocean for half an hour in front of my two daughters. Now I'm on my 5 years watch for my pre-cancer to make sure that in 5 yrs I will be cancer free. I see my GYN every 6 month so far I haven't encountered anything bad or dangerous, my recovery was good as well.
I am having a hysterectomy at 61 because of Uterine Cancer. I am not sexually active but just wanted to know if I still would feel like it afterwards so thank you for your videos.
Thank you sooo much for sharing. Could you share the supplements that worked for you after surgery. I'm so nervous and want to have everything in place for after surgery.
Thank you I did mine hysterectomy in 2012. Sex is great have my 2 fallopian tubes. I have abnormal wasn't cancer but if leave it could develop into cervical cancer.
Thank you so much. I'm 34 and strongly considering ❤
It’s a shame that surgeons don’t talk about this in the way you’ve presented it. It was excellent! I will refer this video when the topic comes up.

Thank you for being so open about your experience. This really helped me. I am having surgery in a few months for a subtotal hysterectomy. I was panicking about the after and thinking of backing out of surgery because of misinformation others had put on the Internet telling me I could never be normal again or experience sexual pleasure post hysterectomy. did your ovaries removed too?
Don't feel bad....

I just did mine tmr make a week
Do you still have periods?
I appreciate your honesty about the cervix blow out, but not every one is given a choice 😔

I’m also 29 and will have a hysterectomy soon. How do you feel and is it worth it to do it so young?

I actually never thought of that. My reproductive system has never been important since I never wanted children.

I never had children and it’s too late now anyway at 52, but I’m still cycling.
@@ericcutrer1467 It is called partial or supracervical if they don’t remove the cervix.
Thank you for this! My situation was identical to yours down to one ovary. So you answered my questions not only about sex but the hormones as well.

Whatever you do not give up on your own self. Ask questions by way of the internet and Facebook, hysterectomy groups. Speak with whoever you can about anything that is worrying you.

Thank you!

I've really been taking it hard that I'm having this done because I've finally been living my best life. The potential effect on my sex life has been very worrisome as it's never been better. Thank you for this video! I'll be watching it often for reassurance!
Thank you for sharing! It's been 10 days since I had my surgery. I feel good so far! :)
Thank you.
You have described every thing well after hystrectomy. There is no impact on sexual life Thank you mame for this well describing.
Thank you. 40 here and trying to make this decision now. This helped me so much.
Update?
What are your recommendations for supplements
They called mine a radical hysterectomy back early 90s. The one thing that really helped me stay away from Premarin was an herbal choice of black cohosh in Remifemin. Some of those hot flashes are down right horrible. This keeps me sane and a little drier! Helps a bit with mood swings too I think. I love that your excercise is slow and impactful. I do not like heart pounding exercise anymore. Will be trying this on my lower back pains. Thanks for making it simple and meaningful as well. Most of all, thanks for sharing!
Thank u for this information I love how you give us those words that we need to hear sometimes someone need to listen how powerfull we are as a women

I’m 28 now. I had my emergency hysterectomy and cervix removal at the age of 22. My sex drive is healthy and has improved my sex life. Make sure if you have negative feelings after surgery talk to someone. Therapist a medical professional ❤️ thank you for this
Thank you for sharing!!
How u made Ur sax life healthy ...give tips ..as there is no lubrication during sex after my hysterectomy' at age of 37 during my emergency cesarean hysterectomy'
I’m struggling because I was given a hysterectomy along with chemotherapy for cancer. I did not have a sexual partner at the time. Now that I’ve met someone and in love, we are struggling to battle vaginal atrophy. I cannot find a doctor who will give me hormones.
They should be willing to at least give you vaginal suppositories with hormones. They don’t go into your blood stream, but help with restoring (?) the vaginal canal. Good luck & hugs. 💗💗💗
Having surgery in a month. This is very informative... Thanks.... Going to watch the Video on exercises after surgery...
I am so glad and blessed to come across your videos. I am 52 and perimenopause and have been diagnosed with stage two prolapse about a year ago. I have been dealing with it going to physical therapy, but it seems that I may be getting a little worse, I can feel my cervix and see it, my job keeps me on my feet running back-and-forth and it’s been extremely busy lately. I don’t know if that has part to do with me getting worse extremely nervous about getting surgery. My regular GYN feels I shouldn’t have it. I should try to maintain it, but it is truly annoying and I’m comfortable most days, not sure what to do
29 with uncontrollable bleeding going to have the proceedure in 5 months, thanks for your information
We have the exact same experience...I had my consult yesterday and I decided to go with the mesh procedure. I did pelvic floor PT...I tried everything and it was too severe to just use a pessery...thank you for all your videos on this topic 🙏🏽
Thank you for your transparency! One question I have, why do we have to tell the surgeon to make the canal deep enough? Why don't they just do it so there aren't issues later?
Thank you! I have stage 4 endometriosis and I'm BRCA1+. I'm at a crossroads so this is helpful to hear your experience.
I have Endometriosis and I’m having a hysterectomy in 3 weeks, even though I’m only 34 years old with no children. Thank you for the valuable information. You provided me with much needed guidance and insight. I’m much more hopeful and optimistic now!!!
I have cervical cancer and I’m having a hysterectomy in 2 weeks. I’m 32 with no children. We got this girl!!
I’m 41 and no kids . I had a hysterectomy 6 Weeks ago because of fibroids. Just take it one day at a time.
@@AgeofAquarius1980im 48 and I don’t know why I’m so emotional to have this procedure… I just know I have many fibroids and need to get this matter resolved
@@monnea2407 heyyy. Trust me I understand, it’s a major surgery and a part of your body will be removed. I never really wanted to have kids but when it came down to realizing that I would never have kids if I had the surgery, it made me sad. Ohhhhh but I’m so glad I did it. When I tell you I REGRET NOTHING. 😂💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
@@patriciasalazar5078how are you doing now ?
I can't thank you enough for making this video and sharing your story! You give me hope it will all be okay!!
Thank u…feeling a lil better after watching. This has been a mourning period for me some don’t seem to get. So thank you for that!
Thank you so much 😭 was looking for this video for a week after my hysterectomy
It really helped ❤️
I'm so glad!
Plz yaravathu tamil la explain pannuga
I think it is sociological for some people. I had my hysterectomy surgery at 43years I never went through menopause I still enjoy a very healthy sex life I had one ovary removed I am now 67 years and I still enjoy sex
You also have to maintain a healthy lifestyle
Thank you for sharing your experience. I just learned about the procedure and I’m educating myself on it.
Had my surgery 1.5 weeks ago… I guess I was doing a bit too much (We have four young children) and I actually had to go to the emergency room yesterday morning due to heavy bleeding when I woke up. The doctor basically has put me on bed rest for the next three days. So I’m trying to give my body grace during the next few months. I know as I am resting in bed, I can already tell just in one day that my recovery has already started going faster.
God bless u..hope u r doing absolutely well
This has me in tears I've had all these questions
Thank u so much
Thank you so much for this fruitful informations,, I undergone TAHBSO procedure last Dec. 18,2021,,it was not an uneasy for me especially the 1st week after my hysterectomy.. I experienced gas pain, or feeling bloated but it was a best decision for me,, after suffering a uterine bleeding for almost 10 months,, Now I'm feeling much better now... Thank you for all the informative videos you uploaded,, it's helps a lot,, God bless
Thank you so much for sharing your own experiences. It helps so much to hear this especially from someone with expertise in this field.
Hi dear how long it takes to feel normal down there without uterus?
I am a male, but still,I honestly feel to have attended a cool medical counselling lecture... specially the introduction of four parts and their sequence of explaination.I have a passion for medical lectures, specially surgery and psychology like human behaviours.
Sex shouldn’t be an embarrassing or uncomfortable subject. Men want it, we got the goods, so let’s talk about it candidly 🤷🏽♀️!!!
Do people really talk about their sex life with their friends or family members?
@@markbampton281 yes why not ? It’s where we all come from
@@patriciaangelone2320 I kind of feel shy on the topic most times around certain people
@@patriciaangelone2320 i think that's so weird. I wouldn't talk about it with anyone. it's really none of their business.
@@MimzFernhow are you both now?
I really needed to hear this after a full hysterectomy @35 due to endometrial cancer. I was scared on what was going to happen to my marriage. Thank you!!
💕 I’m 32 & recently diagnosed
I had my Hysterectomy done last year when I turn 50 my test came positive for pre-cancer stage 1 and for endometrial cancer. I cried an ocean for half an hour in front of my two daughters. Now I'm on my 5 years watch for my pre-cancer to make sure that in 5 yrs I will be cancer free. I see my GYN every 6 month so far I haven't encountered anything bad or dangerous, my recovery was good as well.
This is so informative! I’m scheduled to have the surgery next Monday so I needed to know all of this before having the surgery.
I will be having mine the same day as you... I hope it goes well for you :)
@@paceisthetr1ck I hope the same for you as well 💞
I am having a hysterectomy at 61 because of Uterine Cancer. I am not sexually active but just wanted to know if I still would feel like it afterwards so thank you for your videos.
Thank you sooo much for sharing. Could you share the supplements that worked for you after surgery. I'm so nervous and want to have everything in place for after surgery.
This is such invaluable information. I appreciate you taking the time to explain, give comfort, strength and inspire confidence. Thank you🙏💪❤
You are so welcome!
Thank you Jessica! This video is so helpful and made it easy for me to make a decision about getting hysterectomy.🙏💙
What kind of supplements do you take for hormones?
Thank you I did mine hysterectomy in 2012. Sex is great have my 2 fallopian tubes. I have abnormal wasn't cancer but if leave it could develop into cervical cancer.
Was it total hysterectomy? (You don't have your cervix)
Seeing the actual operation that video looked so painful. Looks like sex is a no go! Forever
This was very helpful. Im scheduled for my hysterectomy on May 1 and this helped me ask the right questions to my doctor
