Thanks for the info I did this last time you told me to do what you did on this video and it did turn up a little bit shut back down so should I replace the low pressure switch which I really don't want to but it's a pain that you don't want but I like to do that but no pressure switch and delete that one I don't want to give a cell phone when I heard from you I appreciate

Hi great video. I have a 3 ton Rheem that’s a tuna but funny. Right now the outside pipe has condensation on it. But I noticed today that it would go dry without turning off and then the pipe would get wet again. No freezing. Could I be low on Freon? Thanks

I always replace line sets, in a 30 year old system how do you feel comfortable reusing old line sets with know idea if you might have soft solder joints or potential other leaks. asking for a fiend who just might be a reputable contractor for the last 25 years. much thanks Chris

I understand that this unit should be replaced due to age, but lets the owner doesn't want to or he/she would like the unit to be repair what would you do then? And another question, if the unit is that low in refrigerant what would be the procedure if it was lets say 5 years old unit?
Time to replace, everyone wants another year.

@@PipeDoctor check out fluke ac89 piercing meter leads so you don't need to cut wire everytime you want to test switch.

Honesty who does the manual J calculation anymore? I've had a few people in for my 40 year old Rudd which is leaking and not one of them suggested it.
Ruud even gives us a easy program to use
@@PipeDoctor must be a bloody large bedroom if it needs 3 tons, in my area most modest full homes cool on 1.5 to 3 tons.

the question remains how do you as a licensed contractor, feel comfortable reusing lets say 30 year old R22 line set. possible soft solder joints cuz shits in walls, possible 5/16 liquid line, potential leak due to age, not to mention bosch cant support r22 line set reuse, how do you feel comfortable reuse. just asking. i know what i do to limit exposure to liability, what does Mikey Pipes do?
looks to me like your gonna put a up to 16 SEER on old pipes relying on the pipe wiper and maybe flushing Also.
might just be the difference between a plumber and a HVAC guy, and no i am not from your area, i just callem the way i see em. Please do as you will and post it. i will at a boy you when you do well and question when you might not/ riding the line of good practice.

I head you say about the pipe wiper and Nipex. Even i haven’t heard of them until now. Maybe a Mikey Pipes review of some of the items you use or recommend like these items? I do remember you broke a Pipe Vise.

replaced my 30 yr old trane 1.5ton 2 yrs ago. guy offered to put a hard start kit on it but did his pitch on me about the gas.
the new carrier is much more quiet, but oy vey my wallet.
So far I've had quotes for around 10k for a replacement. Granted I need a disconnect outside on the condenser and 110 to 220 on the air handler but man a lot considering the air handler and condenser are around 3500

Run it till it don't go no more. Little extra electricity or you pay the man $$$.
early 90s units but pre '92 were in the 8 to 10 seer range.
I've had a Rudd from 81 and my monthly bill at 76 degrees was around $250 per month. Even a higher electric bill is still cheaper over a new install
This is actually a 12 SEER unit surprisingly. The "Classic XII" models were 12 SEER. Very efficient for its time
