I performed this in front of a crowd of about 350 people when I was 19; hands sweating, sustain pedal leg shaking, but I managed to do it well without any mistakes (somehow). I had made a very dynamic piano version of it and practiced for months, was pretty epic, especially since I didn't introduce my self or the piece I was performing (it was a student concert by us in a musical program in the swedish equivalent of college, performed for our friends and family mostly). I got a standing ovation apparantly, but was too quick to bow and leave afterwards lol. In my version, I slow the pace down for certain parts, making the piece itself kind of describe a boss battle, instead of being just a background theme for one; maybe one day I'll upload it if I can get my hands on a wing piano, since I need that in order to create the correct epic sound :P
GREEAAAAAT job...that's a tough song to learn, and you played it wonderfully. Props to you. I'm gonna try and learn this song after I learn the Silph Co. song from Pokemon R/B
Was really good, hit the fast bits really well. There was just one "sloppy" bit at the beginning of the fast part, but the ending really made it great in the end. Made me laugh when you raised your hand in the end.
Never mind the mistakes, the fast part (right after the intro) sounds a little choppy. However, the dynamics were great- it really set the mood for how Koji Kondo and the rest of the Super Mario 64 crew wanted to make it. Great job.
@ghost7561 You should get used to the new piano; It may take awhile though for your fingers to get a little strength in them. While playing just relax your arm and let gravity help you play those [what may feel like trying to move a brick with your fingers] keys.
Thanks for the comments guys! I know it is very sloppy, I recorded this back when I wasn't that great. And the very fast speed was not intentional; I didn't realize how fast I was playing it when I was recording. I will try to redo this someday.
Wow, aren't you glad to put all that training to good use? ~applauds~ On another note, it's nice to *see* this played on a traditional stand-up. Five Stars.
Oh nooooooo! I hope my terrible playing here didn't cause you serious ear injury man... haha. Anyway, yeah it was a very different then, the whole internet actually was a very different place. It's crazy looking at the analytics for this video. There is a super sharp decline at the end of 2011... Went from getting 100-300 views per day from 2008-2011 to 5-20 per day in a matter of a three months... I wonder what happened that caused that.
@iLikePiano you should keep the speed the same it makes it sound allot better then the recording and the eary sound of the piano makes it creepy so like you said fix up a few notes and itd be way better but dude you rock so bad i wish i could play with your skills on this song keep it up dude
Could you record more themes form Super Mario 64? This is truly amazing. I have seen all versions of Final Bowser Theme on youtube and this one is the best.
You have all the notes correct, but the real trick to make this song sound the way it is intended is to have an even rhythm on those 16th notes. Anywho.. this vid does inspire me to learn the song myself.
Seemed a little bit fast all the way through, and had some tempo issues. That aside, VERY WELL PLAYED!! I have the sheet music for this song myself, and it's quite difficult to play. Keep up the great work!
Very well done! One point of constructive criticism: make sure the continuity between rhythm in your right and left hands remains solid. Your right hand got ahead of your left at points. Good job!
I play piano but I can't read sheet music very well, usually I'll just memorize the way I move my hands, i can play just about any difficulty but I still can't read sheet music well! Any advice?
really cool man!! Played very well, even when you made some mistakes it sounds amazing and it's really a cool song for playing it on piano, I would play it but I don't own a piano and I don't play that well, I have bad coordination and stuff. 5 Stars!
I have been learning this piece really hard for months and I think I can play it as good as him and I will try prove it making the video in June. He's damn good and this will be a hard challenge, but I will do my best.
dude, can you put the notes for the fast part of the song in the info/ description section? because i have the beginning down, but i cant get past the first 16 fast notes
just my opinion, it's going a little too fast, but otherwise done well
Nathaniel Bandy

Very awesome story! Thanks so much for sharing. That's a lot of people to play for. Must have been a pretty packed performance hall?

Jeez man. 200k+ views? 2008 was a different time for content wasn't it? Also, the new ff7 video was lovely.
Oh nooooooo! I hope my terrible playing here didn't cause you serious ear injury man... haha. Anyway, yeah it was a very different then, the whole internet actually was a very different place. man if you swung this it would sound so much like a disney villain theme.
What an epic ending!!
This music is one of the most fitting for a boss fight.
So far, you are the best compared to the others who tried this song.
You should get rid of the ego and just congratulate someone on trying their best.
And to Ryan: Very well done!
awesome!! 5 stars!! do u know where i can get music sheets for the song you played
Could you record more themes form Super Mario 64?
This is truly amazing. I have seen all versions of Final Bowser Theme on youtube and this one is the best.
Eargasm!!!! That was amazing!!!
Are you sure you're playing the #'s and b's right?
(sharps and flats, lol.)
Kenji Yamamoto can sound so cheery but then when oppertunities like this coem around he really shows his evil composer genious >:)

i love the piano..and i also love mario games. that was great.
O.o that is realllly cool... If I could I would put it on my iPod... not joking... sonds EXACTLY like it!
@ghost7561
Its better playing on weighted keys I think, because your fingers don't slide of as fast and you don't make mistakes as often.
You have all the notes correct, but the real trick to make this song sound the way it is intended is to have an even rhythm on those 16th notes. Anywho.. this vid does inspire me to learn the song myself.
Great playing honestly i couldn't even hear the mistakes very good!!
Thanks! Right now im working on 'Fighting' from Final Fantasy 7.
Seemed a little bit fast all the way through, and had some tempo issues.
That aside, VERY WELL PLAYED!! I have the sheet music for this song myself, and it's quite difficult to play. Keep up the great work!
Your hand is like a spider on the keyboard. So cool
You're good! Yeah, I really want to learn to play this song, myself...
Any advice?
Really cool.
That is one nice piano.
@ZekePrower It's in the game, look up the original theme and skip to about 2:10
O_O???? impossible his piano skill is over 9000!!!!!!!
really cool man!! Played very well, even when you made some mistakes it sounds amazing and it's really a cool song for playing it on piano, I would play it but I don't own a piano and I don't play that well, I have bad coordination and stuff.
5 Stars!
