@@TheRoadsWeRoam Yeah, great tour of your trailer! However, you don't need to show us every drawer and cabinet door. We know what those look like. Just show us the stink, stove, microwave, refrigerator, closet, shower, and any hidden storage/drawers. Like the ones underneath the bed, dinette, and kitchen sink. This will make the videos shorter in length. Also, who would complain about the shower door when you can close the curtains on all of your windows? Doesn't make any sense to me.
Travelin' Ted hey! Thanks for the feedback! This was our very first video tour when we first started and have changed up our tour formats to be more in line with what you have mentioned. Always appreciate tips to make our stuff better-thank you!!

Its a nice camper. Trailer Life did a review on it last month. I wish they'd put bigger black & gray water holding tanks in it though. It's a good quality built camper with a lot of nice features. I love the windows in it.
We saw that article! We haven’t run into an issue with the tanks yet, but we haven’t boondocked to really test how long we can manage without maxing them out. Stayed tuned-we’ll report on that in the near future.
We haven’t had any issues like that. We have had a few minor things but the company was able to help us immediately fix the issue. For example, the board on our furnace was bad and they authorized a mobile RV tech repair as we were on travel and then reimbursed us the fees; our C.O. detector was faulty and kept going off so the folks at Little Guy overnighted a new one and talked us through replacing it ourselves. As for complaints that you have heard, we would like to tell you that there has been a recent restructuring of the parent company (Liberty Outdoors) and Little Guy products are now under Extreme Outdoors and there is a focus on improving the quality control of their products as well as the customer service experience. Fresh 20 gal., Black 9 gal. Gray 20. We wish we had a countertop plug-in outlet towards the rear of the rig. in the 2018 models the only plug-in outlet is up front near the entertainment area. They have fixed this in the 2019, 2020 and 2021 models.
wow I am surprised at all the storage. how expensive is this little guy and one other question I love all the windows for light but does it make it hot in there if you are camping off grid.
Hi Linda! We camp off-grid a lot and have found the windows keep it incredibly cool-especially if you turn on the fan in the bathroom-it moves the air quite well. We have been boondocking in Arizona on 90 degree days and didn’t even feel the need to run the AC. The storage was one of the main reasons we picked our Max :) Prices for new units tend to range from $26k-$32k depending on options and where it is purchased.
Hello Brenden and Ella - Yes the dinette does lower creating another bed. I would imagine there is enough room for 2 toddlers, especially if they slept heads on opposite ends) The rover is a very similar model but with less windows and an added bunk bed over the dinette, which would most likely fit your needs. LINK here: th-cam.com/video/NY0S5HrlHPg/w-d-xo.html
This si the first I’ve seen this rig. I’m really digging it. The only thing I didn’t like was the dinette tv. I need to check out the tank sizes to see if it’s doable for remote camping. Thanks much!
Hello Mr. C- Thus unit has 2 TV’ one in the sleeper area and the other in the dinette. Either TV can be removed and fitted into a bracket on the side of the rig for outside tv enjoyment. As to the tank sizes that is the limiting factor. Our is a 2018 and has 14 Fresh, 20 Gray, 9 Black. The newer models have larger tanks though.
Love it love it love it!!!! Great job. Very well done. You need to send this video to the Mgr at dealership. They should offer you a job. :) And you sold me on the Little Max. The shower door doesn't bother me, but if you have guest over, your shower curtain idea is brilliant. Thanks so much for sharing!.
The only thing keeping me from going with the LGM over the Tab400 are those plastic windows and that thin cover for the propane/battery compartment. :(
Cheri, we are in agreement about the quality of the propane/battery compartment but we have found there are after-market options that are reasonably priced for that. As for the windows, that was a concern of ours as well when we were getting ready to buy, but having had our LGM for awhile now we like them. They never get really hot to the touch and they allow you to completely open a much wider area than traditional windows would. We talk about your concerns a bit more in today's VLOG #41 (will be uploaded shortly). Thanks for your comment!
Hello Aurora Nite- Great question! So the Little Guy Max has a dry weight of 3140 lbs. We tow with a 2014 GMC Sierra 1/2 ton pickup which has a max tow capacity of around 6700 pounds. The only time I even notice the Little Guy Max (towing wise) is when we get a big gust of wind, A big semi passes us or when we are going up large/steep hills. We have a weight distribution hitch as well as a sway bar. I've been told that this is overkill for this type of trailer but these are precautions for when/if things go bad and not your everyday routine. I'd rather have more control than I need than not enough when I need it.
I pull a 32 ft enclosed race car trailer no sway control ever. I keep the brake controller close by to line it up if it sways once and a while. If it gets a little wobbly I lightly increase the brake switch it straightens the trailer. I have a 2500 Dodge Ram 4 door long bed diesel. The problem with sway control it pries on the front of the tongue on any trailer short or long when you look at it and think about it. I stopped at a place somewhere in the middle of America on a trip. and one of the guys said he has seen many of the trailers with a tongues snapped clean off the front of trailers with sway bars. And I couldn't believe it at first when he told me. but I thought about that for hours down the road. the angles that you pull in places that are Steep it puts additional stress on the tongue every time you hit a bump and on level surfaces. It's like a pry bar on the front of the tongue that is hammering action and the faster you go the worse it is. And for more sway control obviously the tighter you go the better but the harder stress it is on the tongue. so I chose not to run one at all and just keep my speed way down when traveling so I don't need one at all. And I have a flat face 32 foot enclosed race car trailer triple axel. car trailer 15,600 Max pounds gross just on the the trailer. And my race car trailer is not as tall as a camper there are low profile race car trailers. The biggest thing with Towing anyting the slower you go the less Sway and rock you will have. I'm converting a 32 foot triple axle enclosed race car trailer with a 32'' inch side door into a travel trailer. The trailer can haul right at 11,000 payload pounds inside. And sadly cargo and race car trailers hold their value better than campers.
Similar to look of tab 400. I have yet to see a small trailer with a wet bath that beats nuCamp tab 400. I can see this one has more storage though. The interior design is more traditional versus contemporary or European. Thanks for sharing. May you be touched with great health so you can enjoy your Little Guy.
When we made the decision to get the Little Guy Max, it came down to the storage and the windows. The ability to store so much more and open all 7 windows really makes it feel bigger than it is :)
Thank you Janet really appreciate the kind words and support! We currently have 2 cooking videos (full recipes and step by step instructions on our blog www.theroadsweroam.com) and plan on making cooking videos a weekly occurrence.
Loved your video! Love this trailer. So wish covid wasn't a thing, would love to go to an RV expo. Just had a few questions: Any regrets with this rig? How is the customer service? Still loving it?
No regrets at all! In fact, if you follow our channel you’ll see we also got a used class-A....but after some time in it, we are going back to our Little Guy Max. It offers everything we need and can easily go many places we just can’t get to with a larger unit. As for customer service, we have had positive experiences every time we have interacted with the company. There were issues for some individuals in the past, but the new owners of the company have placed service and quality as a priority.
@@TheRoadsWeRoam that's awesome! Great info for someone like me and my husband. We've been searching for our first ever teardrop. Love hearing this positivity!
Thank you for your review and walk-thru of the Little Guy Max. We are considering one or its new little brother the Little Guy Mini-Max. I'd like to get your input on whether I could tow this competently over hilly and mountainous terrains at high elevations thru some of the National Parks out West with a 2018 Toyota 4-Runner? It has a 5000 lb Max Tow Capacity with a Factory Tow Package. Thank you in advance for your input. I've just subscribed.
Hi Alex! The price varies depending on where you get it, but we have seen the average pricing anywhere from $26k-$31K. In addition to destination fees, some other things that affect the pricing are if you select the rough rider package and/or solar packages. As for gross weight, dry weight is 3,140lbs and GVWR is 3,800lbs.
My biggest issue with that trailer is the bathroom espicially that door ,why see through ? Is there no light in it ? I see you solved it with a curtain ,but does that block most of the light in there ?
There is a light in the bathroom but more importantly, the manufacturer has addressed the see-thru door issue and all newer models have a different door.
There is a couple around the corner from my house that owns one. I like the looks of them very tempting I must say but still heart set on truck camper unless price is less than a Palomino HS 6601 in Canada of course. Thanks for the view nice camper
Thanks for watching! We considered a truck camper for awhile but wound up needing the extra storage that our truck bed offered. Price wise the Palomino is hard to beat!
Towing capacity often differs on model year & options so without knowing that about your Outback we can’t say for sure. However looking online, the average Outback has a towing capacity around 2,700lbs-3500lbs so it would not be able to safely tow the Little Guy Max. But, you could look at the Mini Max which comes in at 1,993 lbs. golittleguy.com/lg-mini/
The Little Guy Max is not a four season trailer but we have been in temperatures where it has been down in the teens at night. The tanks are exposed under the rig so extended cold weather would not be recommended but brief periods of it are ok. It is our understanding the Tab 400 is similar. They are both great units. For us it came down to the greater amount of storage and all of the windows that the Max had to offer.
Very nice review ! Any idea every time driving on the road what I the total weight your little guy max has and what is the hitch weight she puts on your towing vehicle?
I think its because it is on a thin piece of wood that picks up the vibration and the probably didn't use the best motor they could. To be honest we don't even use that TV only the one in the sleeper
@@TheRoadsWeRoam Thanks for he response. I suppose viewing that close would be difficult, anyway. Actually, I was hoping maybe the microphone was sitting on the motor....LOL. My wife and I are looking into something like this. Vintage look with new accoutrements. Thanks for posting!....and responding.
So, have you guys had issues with bad storms and the weight of the LGM in a weather event with bad wind? That is the only drawback I can fathom to lightweight of the camper.
Hello Robin- We’ve been in some terrible wind storms and barely noticed the Little Guy Max begins is. I’m sure the teardrop shape as well as the use of sway-control device helped but really it was a non-issue.
@@TheRoadsWeRoam what about when you are parked and unhooked? Also I know ya'll use a residential mattress. May I ask how thick it is? Just found ya'll on YT. Love the vids and blogs.
Hello Robin- Yes, it does rock and roll in the high winds a little bit. We were at Elephant Butte state park in New Mexico and the winds were quite noticeable when unhooked. We replaced the stock mattress with a 14” pillow top mattress. Which does cover the electrical outlets and puts your head right at window level and could cause you to bow the screen out allowing insects entry, so we suggest not using one that thick. Thank you for the kind words and we are delighted you are enjoying our videos and blog. Please let us know if you have any questions and we look forward to you joining us on more adventures😊
Is this the Rough Rider package? Also 100 solar. Is this enough and can you add more say 2 100 watt panels? I think I would rather have more storage than the sound bar
It varies depending on the region where you purchase it (due to shipping fees an taxes) as well as upgrade options. BUT, prices go anywhere from $26-32K that we have seen. Now that the trailer has been out in the market for about 2 years, you may find some cheaper that are used.
Great question, Michelle! I wish I could give an amount, but RV insurance varies based on where you live, whether you are using it full-time or part-time, where and how it is stored as well as your driving record to name a few of the factors.
You can contact Little Guy directly on their site or search for a dealer near you - Here is a link to the Little Guy “find a dealer” page golittleguy.com/dealer-locator/.

Great RV! NEEDS fold down sink in bathroom (see TAB 400)
Oh yeah...that would be nice!
What are the tank sizes? Is there anything specific you wish you had?
The storage was one of the main reasons we picked our Max :)
Prices for new units tend to range from $26k-$32k depending on options and where it is purchased.
@@TheRoadsWeRoam thanks so much for all the info. love these vidios that give us the real stories about living in them.
what is the msrp ticket on a trailer like this??
We bought ours for $32k. It varies in price in different regions due to shipping. The units are built in Pennsylvania.
Nice one question can the dinette table go down for another sleepi my area .and will it fit 2 small kids
I love the cabinets and cubbies. But I worry about the low tail end bottoming out during travel...have you had this problem?
Hello Sue- there is 15” of clearance between the bottom of the rig and the ground. We have never had the booth of the rig bottom out on anything.
@@TheRoadsWeRoam Thanks for the info.
I looked at their web site.
I wish the tanks we're about double in size😁
Us too 😀
Love it love it love it!!!! Great job. Very well done. You need to send this video to the Mgr at dealership. They should offer you a job. :) And you sold me on the Little Max. The shower door doesn't bother me, but if you have guest over, your shower curtain idea is brilliant. Thanks so much for sharing!.
Thank you so much, April!
But the fridge is bigger in the Max and way more storage in the Max.
Love the video!
Thank you!
Hi Kerry, thank you for the video. Does the Max have an option for a Keder rail? Thank you, Susan
how did you get the queen mattress into the trailer?
MrDsabourin it took the two of us and a lot of pushing. We had to open both windows and Russ pulled from the outside while I pushed from the inside.
Nice tour. Can you tell us how well it tows? Any sway or pull on tow vehicle?
Tks
Are they similar to nuCamp in quality?
Yes. NuCamp and Liberty Outdoors are very similar. They were actually the same company at one time and then they split.
Awesome job on all your videos- subscribed! Can wait for more on the Max and cooking in confined space.
Great question! Russ will be covering this in tonight's VLOG #30 (will be up shortly).
Does the dinette convert to a bed so my daughter has her own sleep space?
Yes it does 🥰
What the price on new little max trailer for?? What gross weight of the trailer for towing with truck ??
Great video. I thinking about getting one.
We absolutely love ours! Let us know if you have any questions!
Awesome camper and great job on the video!
Thanks Ed! We love our Little Guy Max!
I'm wondering what I can pull with my Subaru Outback. . . . It may be too big?
Towing capacity often differs on model year & options so without knowing that about your Outback we can’t say for sure. However looking online, the average Outback has a towing capacity around 2,700lbs-3500lbs so it would not be able to safely tow the Little Guy Max. But, you could look at the Mini Max which comes in at 1,993 lbs. golittleguy.com/lg-mini/
How is this for cold weather. Looking at the Tab 400 but this looks like it has more usable room👍Any updates or concerns?
The Little Guy Max is not a four season trailer but we have been in temperatures where it has been down in the teens at night. The tanks are exposed under the rig so extended cold weather would not be recommended but brief periods of it are ok. It is our understanding the Tab 400 is similar. They are both great units. For us it came down to the greater amount of storage and all of the windows that the Max had to offer.
@@TheRoadsWeRoam Thank you for the info and insight. Best of luck to you and Happy Trails 👍👍👍
Very nice review ! Any idea every time driving on the road what I the total weight your little guy max has and what is the hitch weight she puts on your towing vehicle?
Hello We do not have these numbers just yet but will be posting them in a video once we get them. Thanks for watching and commenting
@@TheRoadsWeRoam many thanks
Can the dinnete be turned in to an additional bed
Yes, it can!
Love the Camper! Just subscribed! Look forward to all the travels!
Thanks Brandon!!!
Does this model have the option with adding a sink in the wetbath??
No it does not
I want one soooo bàd! My only concern is issues I have heard about the screen.
@7:30, the TV motor sounds like a grinder! Why?
I think its because it is on a thin piece of wood that picks up the vibration and the probably didn't use the best motor they could. To be honest we don't even use that TV only the one in the sleeper
@@TheRoadsWeRoam
Thanks for he response.
@@TheRoadsWeRoam Thanks so much for the quick reply. Then my 12 inch mattress should be good.
Take care and safe travels.
Robin Taylor We’d agree that a 12” mattress would be best.
Is this the Rough Rider package? Also 100 solar. Is this enough and can you add more say 2 100 watt panels? I think I would rather have more storage than the sound bar
Yes, it is the Rough Rider pkg. Ours has the 1 solar panel which has been enough for our needs but the 2019s have 2 panels
how is it in the winter?
We've had no problems with it.
I just love it. For me my boyfriend should be ok .
aweome.
Thank you!
Is the Diner turn to a bed?
Yes it does :)
Well done video!
Thank you, Clare!
How much does this camper cost? I really love it.
It varies depending on the region where you purchase it (due to shipping fees an taxes) as well as upgrade options. BUT, prices go anywhere from $26-32K that we have seen. Now that the trailer has been out in the market for about 2 years, you may find some cheaper that are used.
Is that a good price for what you get? I’m new to the concept of campers
great review. How is mileage?
Thank you! We have only noticed a decrease in gas mileage by about 4-5mpg while towing fully loaded. (We have a 2014 GMC Sierra)
Please advise of selling prices
New this rig can go anywhere between 28,000-31,000
How much is insurance cost monthly?
Great question, Michelle! I wish I could give an amount, but RV insurance varies based on where you live, whether you are using it full-time or part-time, where and how it is stored as well as your driving record to name a few of the factors.
are you full timing in this one?
Yes, we were. We are now part time but still own this trailer.
What!s the price ???????
They sell anywhere from $27,000-$32,000 new
Nice
Thanks GSNCLN! We love our Little Guy Max!
