You should react to the second one is way better
I recommend you to watch the first Insidious. It’s scary as hell, even scarier than the Conjuring. It’s a great movie, for me it’s the scariest movie ever. It’s has a creepy atmosphere, very good jumpscares.

This is where a lot of people will joke "And it was all trueeeeeeee" but in this case... yeah, it's based on a real exorcism.
No it wasn't. The real family has come up and said there was no exorcism. A priest came in and blessed the house and it all soon turns out better. The Warrens did come to the house but did nothing good, in fact they made it worse. Beth Sheba wasn't a devil worshiper who killed her baby. She was just a normal woman, but Lorraine before she died needed a scapegoat to glorify her case in the film. The Warrens are full of sh*t. Lol. So many families that they supposedly "helped" has come out and said, they did nothing other than paying a visit, taking some photos and that's about it. However I do love the Conjuring movies + Annabelle. It was the start of Hollywood finally producing great horror content. Prior to this, horror movies from the 90s - late 00s were so bad. This is the start of horror movies making a comeback.
I came to the comments just to make sure someone told how this is all based on a true story!!! So freaking creepy!
“Real exorcism”
I am from India and we had a home built on top of a hospital that my grandpa ran, me, my uncle and cousins, all had to move out because of some really shady stuff so yes not very unbelievable for me, except that it was the subtle incidents not full blown weird stuff for example one of my cousins once saw my grandma go to the bathroom twice without having come out.

One thing I like about this movie is it's one of the rare horror movies with no perverted stuff, no rape ghosts or rapist humans, no rampant sex, basically no swearing, just an old fashioned family with a demon latched onto them. Not that those types of horror movies are always bad, but it's like horror as a genre has grown to heavily rely on those kinds of tropes to deliver their stories. The Conjuring is like Christian horror lmao.
By the way, you may want to consider Cabin in the Woods if you haven't seen it. I don't want to spoil it, so I'll just say it's a very unique horror movie. One of my favorite movies.

@@DanielSelk I read that James Wan wanted a lower rating and asked what he could remove or change to make it more age appropriate, and they answered Nothing. There is nothing you can do to make this less scary 😅

This is the scariest movie I have ever seen in my life (I am a 64 year old grandmother!). I watched this by myself at the movies!
I watched this in a packed theater on a Friday night. There was lots and lots of screaming. Even the tough bikertypes in the row behind us screamed like little girls :D
If you go back to the lecture scene the real Lorraine Warren is sitting in the audience. Right after the actor playing Ed starts to talk about infestation,. The real Ed Warren passed away before this movie was made
The screams that Vera Farmiga do in the beginning of the secone movie (when we see the Amityville case) it was so good... like it didnt feel fake or forced... she is so underrated.
Can't wait to see your reaction to the second movie.. the first one is really good but the second is even better, you get to see more of Ed and Lorraine's relationship.

Although insidious has his scary moments it doesn’t come close to this one. The last time i was so scared of a horror movie was when i was 18years old and watch the first jeepers creepers.
i recommend the tv antology series "the haunting" there's two seasons with different stories each. the first season is called "the haunting of hill house" and the second "the haunting of bly manor". it's a very god show and it's perfect to react to as it's emotional, scary and clever.

The first time I saw this movie was in the theater. Scared the shit out of me.
So the Warrens were real people. The Annabelle doll exists. And the Conjuring is based on one of the Warren’s cases.
I won’t hold it against you if you want to put you hand over your eyes and look through your fingers. It’s what I did the first time I watched this. Alone. In the dark like an idiot.

Conjuring 2 made me literally cry 😭
great reaction bro! I watched this in the cinema, it was insane. Excited for the next Harry Potter and the Conjuring 2. There's also 3 Annabelle movies called Annabelle, Annabelle: Creation, and Annabelle Comes Home. There's another movie called The Nun (you'll be introduced in the 2nd conjuring), all of these films are a part of the Conjuring universe. You've gotta watch them all mate. Supposedly a third conjuring film is coming out this year

I saw this in the theater twice. This was the first horror movie I saw where people screamed more than once. Usually they'd scream with the first scare and that was it. Both times with this movie they screamed 7 times!!! It was awesome! The second time I would look behind me to see people's reactions. Did NOT disappoint! XD

This was the first movie after a really long time that actually scared me. The movie that did that back in the day was the first Jeepers Creepers. I was 17 at the time and scared the living shit out of me equally to this one.

I watched it in cinemas but, as much as I mention how much I enjoy horror films, you're way braver than me having headphones on throughout and not covering your face hahah. Meanwhile, I had definitely covered my face (and peeked through my fingers) while having a shoulder cover one of my ears at some point HAHAH. Honestly, the anticipation is always scarier than whatever jump scare that ends up happening - and then nighttime becomes daytime and you feel like you can breathe normally again because nothing ever happens during the day hahah.
Also, from a reaction standpoint, this was hands-down the best one yet! Well, the full reaction on Patreon is probably better for the whole experience; nothing quite like watching a horror film with company (been too long since I watched the conjuring films so just as good as the first time)

Fun and also not fun fact, when making a movie about Harrisville farmhouse things, actors had weird things happening to them. Mainly because they were filming about what happened and spirits "understood" it as mocking.
Carolyn Perron had visions and nightmares for months later until they eventually stopped. It's said to be normal after possession and exorcism.
Excited to watch this. I've been looking forward to the 3rd one for a while now. I still love this one the most over all other films in the Conjuring universe.
You're not alone in the fact of not doing well with horror films. I watched this and it also scared the hell out of me..that being said I also watched the first "Annabelle " haven't seen the others and I don't plan to lol.
I've seen this film so many times I lost count. I own it on multiple platforms in multiple formats, saw it several times in the cinema and once at the drive-in. It STILL scares the hell out of me and it has been the cause of one of my most repetitive and consistent nightmares since its release. I don't even like saying the witch's name out loud because I fear what it will invoke, but I still love this movie! Whether people like it or not, it has become an institution of the horror genre.
I love Horror but I HATE jumps cares! Movies like The Witch, Midsomar and The Lighthouse have pretty much no jumps cares in case you wanna check them out :)

You should really watch the babadook! It is a very deep emotional horror. And if you're into that kind of stuff, my favourite horror movie is the witch. it is very atmospheric and has a rich storytelling. but I suggest using subtitles, they speak ye olde englishe from back in the 17th century, most of the dialogue has been taken from records back then.
The Conjuring is based on a true story. The house became extremely famous after this came out, the owners didn't like it all that much..Lol... Check out The Exorcism Of Emily Rose, another movie based on a true story.. Very creepy
