Hello Andy, thank you for the idea to use a Variac Tranformer. I have following problem: I baught an EcoFlow Delta 230V AC / 1800W Power bank. It can give me 10km of extra range. Now I need to reduce the charging Power of my Twizy from 2300W to 1800W. Can you make an experiment for me? Can you test if it's possible to reduce the voltage until the Twizy takes only 1800W of charging power? It would help me a lot. Thank you verry much. Daniel
Andy - Did you have to do any rewiring on that Variac to change the earth? I had a gotcha on some little 3a ravistat variacs a few years ago, they're supposed to be in a metal housing... being in nonmetal there are some mods to make
john bumptybump no mods to the variac, but the only thing I added was an earth cable to one of the 4 bolts that held it in, seen from the front. They are pretty robust. Thanks for watching !
@@itsAndyFordham Yeah i think that's probably good if they're actually making electrical contact. I used nylon bolts to hold mine into those bigass grey IP67 boxes so had to provide a proper earth...lol. It was worth asking though just for heads up value. All the best pal!
