If you find a Sevcon Twizy controller from before 06/2016, make shure you also get the UCH and the key transponders! Than you can spare youreselve that nonsense with flashing the default firmware :-) You will have a Twizy with a diffrent VIN electronically, but I guess even Renault would not care/look for that. And you can use all the opportun(e)ities you can find ;-) (There is even a free app in the playstore that uses a cheap 12€ ELM clone from amazon)
You can shorten it to a very noticable difference. If you Twzy has a orange charge cable, then you can´t use any tuning options , PowerBox, OVMS, or Elia Box.
When you say charge cable, do you mean the cable with the socket you plug into the wall? As I believed they were all blue. Cheers for sharing your knowledge though.
The EU renewd a standard in 2017 and Renault missed the Boat! Renault stopped manufacturing the Twizy in late 2015 cause they had to get thier changes homologized and approved. This had not been done until july 2016. And one part of the new standard was that you have to have a signal color on your charging cables. Some old stock was sold in early 2016 after renault got permission to sell under a exemption for a limited number of cars. I own a 2016 cargo Model (Daytime Running Lights) that was build and sold before july 2016. Blue cable and tunable.
Well the v1 ceased production when the v2 came out. From memory the v2 has a better display, controlled via fob vs buttons, had an on and off switch so didnt drain the battery, and I think had bluetooth support. There is now also a Powerbox BT which has no display and is purely bluetooth.
