    Indeed, the hallux (big toe) plays a critical (and often overlooked) role in supporting the foot's arch, ankle, knee, hip.... all the way up the chain. Thanks for your post!

    Finding these videos lets me know that the U.S. Navy podiatry is full of it! They've messed up my feet!

    Hi Garvey, we have not personally tested that particular model so we don't know how wide the toe box is. If you do decide to purchase the shoe let us know if they work out for you!

    I know Toms will not be wide enough, but I am not sure about Solerebels or that particular Camper model. If you can find a store that carries either of those then I would try the shoe liner test with them and see how they fit.

    interesting! i see a lot of people with knee problems because their feet pronate or supinate. amazing how something so small as a toe can affect our alignment. thanks for sharing.

    The goal of the Correct Toes is to bring the toes into proper alignment, so in this case it would mean that we are bringing the great toe into alignment with the rest of the foot. This position won't necessarily be rigid, but just in the proper place for your foot to support the body and move correctly without pronation.

    Vivobarefoot does vary in their toe box width. Their dress shoes, like the Kali and Mary Jane, both fit with the Correct Toes. Their running shoes will vary from person to person whether or not they are wide enough. If you have a narrow foot it is more likely that they would fit. Two other great options are Lems and Altra. Lems can be used as a casual or running/workout shoe. Altra is a great transition shoe because they have a bit more cushioning than the Vivobarefoot or Lems.

      Do you recommend already escalate 2.5 or escalate racer? Would they fit with correct toes?

    • @correcttoes
      @correcttoes  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@annifanni23 Yes, both shoes and the brand are great for the width and shape. However, please understand we are not saying that these shoes work for everyone. Each foot is shaped differently- wider, narrow, slim, etc. and we are only saying that these have the proper shape your foot needs. However, an altra may not fit one person and fit another. You must always check with the shoe liner test and find the shoe that allows your foot to splay properly. I hope this makes sense, please don't hesitate to reach out.

    VFFs can work well for some, and less so for others. It just depends on the individual. Please feel free to check out our recommended shoes list, in the Resources section of our Northwest Foot & Ankle website.

    also as a side note. i have been wearing "ALINE" arch supports for about 6 months because one of my arches is slightly falling and i was starting to have knee pain from running/cycling/sports. i really dont have terrible feet or toes by any stretch but im 6'3 190lbs so small imbalances make a big difference. i do lots of arch exercises to try and regain its position, I wear vibrams half the time and only use these in my running/casual shoes, keep em or ditch em?

    Have you tried Vivobarefoot? They have dress shoe options that are flat, wide in the toe box, and flexible. Its something to look into at least!

    What I'm trying to do is be proactive with my feet. I have a med to large size bunion right now. So do you think that I shouldn't fill in the hole next to the big toe. My reason is I feel that it could stand to move over more. But I'm not in a rush.....I tend to take my time. I'll start working out in them and eventually look into filling the hole unless you've heard of problems with that.

    It does not look like any of the shoes on the Naot website have a completely neutral sole. Most them look pretty stiff as well and would not have a wide enough toe box.

    i went in today and tried a few different models by inov-8 with the correct toes and i didnt feel like there was enough room in the toebox. i have pretty narrow feet (sz12 mens) so i was kind of surprised. i feel like it is unlikely that i will find a minimalist running shoe that can fit the correct toes without alteration. that being said the spacing feels good as is and i was actually even thinking of expanding the big toe spacer so i dont want to cut any off. advice?

    i see on your website that inov-8 is amoung your reccomended correct toes friendly footwear. however the model i am interested in that they make is the road Xtreme 138, which isnt on the list and my local store dosent carry. will i just have to order a pair and do the lining test myself or do you have any info about these shoes. i dont believe i have an overly wide foot either since i recently bought new cycling shoes which offered a wide foot sizing and those fit far too big. thanks

    What about the Camper Peu? Or anything from Toms? Solerebels makes some really basic shoes, what about them? Just trying to find options.

    What do you think about Naot shoes? Would they qualify as neutral posture?

    What do you feel about the Vibram FiveFinger Shoes?

  • @correcttoes

    They look flat and flexible but from the pictures on the website it does not look they like have a wide enough toe box.

    I just bough your product and I'd like you to address some thoughts that I have.I watch you work with the lady and her pronation.I observed that you held her large toe in place (ridgedly) while she tried to pronate.I'm wondering if the goal is for someone with a bunion to work up to a more ridged position(not completely fix)with your product.Maybe inserting a firm peice of foam in the hole between the large toe and second toe?I know there needs to be some "give", but I'm just trying est. a goal.

    you are aware that we need to pronate the foot in order to walk right? what's your take on that

    • @correcttoes
      @correcttoes  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, proper and effective walking is driving the big toe. We need to engage the entire foot when we walk, so try not to forget about the arches and the rest of your toes!

    I love splaying my toes when I run. it seems the only shoes that allow me to do that are VFF and Huaraches..I know Altra Running Shoes allow that too but I have a wide foot. I wish someone could design shoes that allow my big toe move freely that I can use at work.

    There is an option to place a piece of shoe liner in the cavities of the Correct Toes, which will help reinforce that the great toe is brought out to its anatomically correct position. Our modifications video explains this further.
