Today I learned that practise can be the correct spelling, I'm glad I looked that up before going full american and correcting it.

I really enjoyed the video and I know it might be a bit of a big ask, but would you be willing to do a somewhat similar video about the bloodrage? It's certainly a quirky board.

Yeah I can, but when it comes to Bloodrage it is more important for Bloomfield than Gulftown.

Luumi I know, I found one on eBay a little while ago got fairly cheap and I’ve got it and it’s working fine so far. I’ve got a few 920s that I’m excited to bin, and was wanting to know about the overclocking process on that board.

Too bad you weren’t around when I had this board. 980x 4.4 GHz + 12 GB 2000 MHz DDR3 triple channel daily profile, crazy for back then. Started off 3 way SLI GTX 280s, then 4 way Crossfire HD 5970s (2 dual GPU cards, RIP dual GPU beast cards)

4 months ago I purchased a Super Micro X58 motherboard for the Xeon X5500 to 5600 and noticed that there is no option to overclock (not that I wanted overclocking) Is there a way to overclock a motherboard? that is if the board was never intended to be pushed? It does have the turbo option for the board, and I did update the bios to 2013 rev 2. Running a Xeon 5660.
X58 rules! however, it is becoming old technology. . .

Hey @luumi what pump do you use for your watercooling set up?
I have access to a d5 and DDC and am leaning toward using the DDC for my 18c overclocking but want your two cents.
And thank you for sharing the bios download. I went and bought a 770version after your first video so your knowledge is appreciated

Why has the Spread Spectrum feature been removed from all series after the x58 ?
All the series, whether x79, x99 or x299 are not having this and other features that were available on x58 boards.
No wonder that everybody goes for Asus Rampage boards rather than Evga ones.

The setting does exist on newer platforms.

@@LuumiJuhani Where? I couldn't find it in the Bios of my X299 FTW K

I don't think you know what you are talking about, otherwise you would have answered my simple question.
A lot of settings, all the other brands are having, are not there in EVGA's BIOS versions, even the latest z690 doesn't have them.
      No Spread Spectrum
      No Long-/Short Duration Power Limits
      No Max Current Limit
And partialy, all boards below the Dark Edition -> No Load Line Calibration
I'm a technician, I'm not spending 3 to 4 times the amount of a regular entry to midrange board, to getting cut off of essential settings to get my system setup up 100%.
That's a pointless restriction, for whatever reason they do that crap.
The X299 FTWK is definitely the last board I bought from EVGA, absolutly not worth the money.
ASUS was, is and will always be the most successful hardware manufacturer.
Just have look at their annual revenue and you will know who is the best company.

hello friend ... a hug from venezuela, currently I have that motherboard, but I see that you have very low temperatures, and I would like to know if using a liquid heatsink in the processor would lower the temperature of the processor, NB and VREG. I saw that it has a liquid heatsink in the processor and I did not understand why it also lowers the temperature in those NB components and others, I would like to know if you can advise me please.

It's amazing you run the ram with 6-7-5-21 timing @2100mhz. Which ram are you using?

What are you using for cooling? In BIOS i have seen your CPU temp was 16C so i suppose you are not using typical room temperature for cooling.

    • @LuumiJuhani
      @LuumiJuhani  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Normal ambient based water cooling. The CPU temperature reads too low in bios.

Can you specify the maximum voltages for safely daily use for a X58 rig?
