Stop funding the WNBA and make the league survive on its own merits . We will see who is a superstar or not . Caitlin Clark could very well be the WNBA’s saviour and the way she is being treated is very disrespectful .

    • @BigPoppaPump1776

Absolutely 💯!! Every year the NBA has had to kick in around $20 million and there are some funding events every 3 years to get the WNBA the money it needs to pay its bills. The league has NEVER been able to support itself. You finally have a young lady who has drawn fan interest but all of the jealousy, envy, the bashing and drama against Caitlin Clark is going to make the new fans leave - before they even become interested enough to appreciate all of the talented players in the league. These conceited egotistical drama queens need to stop. The only way they are ever going to make more money is to put fans in the stands. That’s all they’ve been asked to do and haven’t done it at any time. CC could be the one to get them more money but they hate her so forget that. On another note, why didn’t Indiana Fever front office get CC an enforcer before they drafted her, to protect her? Even Jordan had Oakley and Rodman. CC’s will really take off if she can just focus on playing ball n stop worrying on who’s going to cheap shot her.

@@BigPoppaPump1776 It's sad that ego, cattiness, and ignorance keeps these women from supporting a player who has the opportunity to change the game as they all know it. As much complaining as they do about the WNBA not being taken seriously and then they act like spoiled children because a new player has stolen their limelight by just playing the game with all her heart/soul. It's painful to watch. I fear that eventually she will crack from the abuse and will move on. They will feel triumphant, but in truth they will have likely destroyed the WNBA's opportunity to become relevant.

My point is that, even though her own performance is outstanding, I won't enjoy watching if she is going to continue to be abused this way. It sets my teeth on edge when I hear people defending the cheap shots she's taking by saying that it's just "normal play" and she is "too soft". That isn't basketball, that's a barroom brawl. I hope the league can do something to fix this, but I'm afraid that the sense of entitlement, the jealousy, and the resentment that permeates the league is too strong for that to happen.

Yeah, yeah…Taurasi and Stewart…big UConn stars. Trouble is, with those “stars” front and center, the WNBA was still a charity league, supported by the NBA.
Their ATTITUDE is what offends everyone, drives the fans away, changes the channel and fuels speculation about whether a high school boys Summer League championship team could crush the WNBA champs (yes, of course they can). Fans are weary of the “stars” undeserved arrogance

CC elevated a nobody team to being the second best all on her back two seasons in a row. Heck CC is a darling for why she even played for Iowa. She wanted to be close to her family and for them to see her games. She is a sweet heart like my own daughter who could go to most colleges in the USA but decided to stay home and go to UT. She did not even apply to any other colleges. In a much smaller universe than CC my daughter beat the entire freshman class in engineering project competitions. The WNBA is losing millions a year for the past 2 decades and it's only because of the NBA that they are still here. And here now is someone who can change it all. She is a generational talent. She doesn't just shoot 3's, her basketball IQ is off the charts, she passes like Jason Kidd, drives like Steph and is clutch like Luka. All of that plus likability, marketable, traits that brings in sponsorships and who cis actually moving the meter. And going back to the 3's, yes other players have been shooting 3's, but none like CC. No one has the range, the step back and the confidence to make those kinds of shots. The media hyped up a 20 second inccident from the LSU and Iowa game, then some racist POS hopped on board calling Reese every slur they could think of, and made AI porn of her. I usually don’t watch women's basketball, but Clarkis is awesome, she brings women's spotlight, just like the Oklahoma softball league is doing for a lot of young ladies. They took four World Series championships this week which has never been done before. One day I happened across a basketball college game in which Iowa was playing and I thought this was exciting the whole team was good and this exciting player named Clark was awesome that is when I decided to watch women's basketball, it is as exciting as Softball. Good to see women's sports advancing in popularity.

This show the world that women are their own worst enemy! They are fighting to be recognized and not happy with salaries, travel and just the fact that they are professionals and not treated as such. Now, here comes Clark, she brings fans and money and respect and the league members, who can only benefit from Clark’s significant popularity and if they don’t blow it, should see more attendance and better salaries…the way they are handling this…they will go the wrong way and will result in this leagues continued failure. This would and has never happened in men’s sports period!

Wait……Are saying women can be jealous, racist, or just hateful to other women even if the situation would result in more fans, tv deals, better treatment, charter planes, and better salaries for players?? 😮😮. Petty jealous women would rather not have a league to play in than to accept Caitlin Clark for what she is……………..superstar that will make women more money like tiger woods did to golf. The men expected tiger as a challenge and works harder to beat him and it made the game of golf more popular around the world to what it is today and now the WNBA has a similar situation with Caitlin Clark, but they’re handling it by being petty jealous, and trying to play the victim. Classic women tearing down other women.

Let that sink in under 10,000 a game is the best attended team, you haven't got fans, you're barely getting your family to show up. No stand out players electrifying a crowd until now. From 1997 to today they have never made a profit. They are basically a welfare sport subsidized by the mens league. This is why some women sports don’t grow to new heights. Because when something new comes up that its good for the sport, emotions play the negative role. Women’s nature of jealousy is bigger than men. We might feel jealous but we just take it as a challenge to compete and welcome the new challenge. Women feel threatened instead and try to squash the “threat “ to their position. Very sad how they just can’t be happy and embrace the great things she brings to the WNBA. Regardless of how good she is or could be in the future. If she becomes the GOAT, great, if she doesn’t, who cares? Its the positive she brings what they should all be embracing. Boys will be boys and women will always be women. Nothing will change. Sadly. Hope I am wrong as I would like to see the WNBA become something we all want to see and follow every year.

I am Japanese. I am not familiar with Western culture, so I apologize if I say something presumptuous.
Recently, I have seen a lot of news and problems like this.
The more different the races of the people in conflict, like these basketball players, the bigger the problem becomes, but in reality, I see it as simply a case of "the one who used violence and the one who was used violence against."
I have not had much experience with racial issues myself, so I will say this presumptuous of mine, but when such conflicts or problems occur, I get the impression that the issue is always shifted to the issue of racism.
Of course, there are discrimination issues in Japan, and the people and cultures of Japan and America are different, so it is not easy to compare them, but are such conflicts often immediately recognized as racial issues? Are racial issues and divisions that deep-rooted?
Of course, I understand the possibility that the people who caused the problem may have had discriminatory intentions, and I am asking this question with the understanding that this is a genuine question, not about which country is good or bad, or which race is superior or inferior.
I'm sorry if I hurt anyone.
I'm not good at English so I use Google translate, so I'm sorry if my English is weird.
