brilliant pictures, congratulations. two facts about this race:
Niki Lauda tested a specific tyre for the front left tyre of his race car. It was a special compound, and he caefully ran in the tyre on saturday. The McLaren mechanics made the mistake to store his race tyre set outside of the garage door in the pitlane. When they returned on sunday morning, the left front tyre was stolen.
Keke Rosberg won this race after 80 laps, but the race director forgot to wave the chequered flag after 80 laps. Keke Rosberg carefully drove an 81st lap and was then shown the chequered flag.

In addition to, of course, being Rosberg's only victory that season. Rosberg who became world champion. At the Swiss GP that was held in France in Dijon

Back when the cars still looked good, looked powerful and different, the tracks were challenging and embedded in nature, the drivers were personalities from the front row to the back row and grid girls pimped the pits.

Padded, neck protection was on the table already..(first few frames on Tambay's car)...
    Never seen that...

Tambay suffered from pain at his neck muscles that weekend; he was forced not to run for this reason. There was an attempt in practice but it went wrong.

@@f1collector177 thank you, did not know that. It was interesting to see that the camera focused on it.

Don't know the stolen tyre story, thank you! Instead, I remember the mistake of race director, Franco Sancristoforo who also was the RD at the following race in Monza.

I thought this track was in France!

Yes it is, but that year for whatever reason the race was named Gp of Switzerland. Also in 1982 there was a 'real' French GP helded the previous month at Le Castellet.

@@f1collector177 Because Swiss had banned racing since the mass deaths during the race at le mans in I think 1956.

Aah , the formula 1 of my youth ! When the cars all looked good and you could tell which one was which by the individual shapes and styles . And the drivers were men. And the cars sounded like racing cars at their zenith.
Much much the opposite of today’s sterile bunch of carbon copy look alikes ; sounding like vacuum cleaners , driven by a bunch of wimps who scream for a driver penalty when someone farts in the car …..!
