I love your honesty (when speaking of your age). That is what prompted me to comment, actually. I'm a couple years older than you. I started reading The Artist's Way (over 20+ years ago) and recently I have been thinking of beginning again, since I never finished. This is probably why the algorithm suggested your video. 😊 Anyways, thank you for doing this. ❤
very excited to see a longer video! I've been following you for a long time and I've loved seeing your work develop over the years. thank you for sharing this with us!
i can sense how incredibly vulnerable this is, both as a long form video and through talking about your experiences in regards to this book (and therefore your fears and struggles) and i thank you for sharing that with us. you bring a level of storytelling and perspective that completely transcends a video or a project and i’m excited to see your takeaways from this book ❤ i hope it is rewarding and affirmative for you
I would love to hear more of your stories in long form content like this. I think you’re great at it. Also, I think the older I get (turning 30 this year), the more I realize that age, at least in adulthood, is truly just a number. It doesn’t define us. Your “soul’s” age may not match your biological age. I would never have guessed your age, but I’m also happy that you shared it. You are proof that you can follow your dreams and continue to flourish at any age.
I'll be 45 this year too. I'm not an artist (yet?) but I wanted to be one for so long. My monsters were very good at their job and I closed that door for me, so many years ago. I don't trust my taste, my eyes, my brain, myself ... In the last three years or so, I'm trying to reconnect with that part of me. It's scary and frustrating at times but makes me Feel things I forgot how to feel. I love this video so much. Your vulnerability spoke to mine, and I felt seen, even though you are an actual artist and I'm not but ... I don't know I felt connected and seen. Thank you so much for starting this and talking to us. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go to the book store: I have a book to buy! ☺️
Luv this video , the content & wonderful storytelling. Thank you for introducing us to this project & sharing so much of yourself with us. I’m so looking forward to seeing what comes next. 😊🥰
You really are a great storyteller- learning about your life and perspective on art through this video feels very conversational and warm. I have had The Artist's Way on my shelf for year- I am going to try to at least read the first chapter this weekend now.
I love your work. If we were in class together I would have wanted to be your friend. I'm here for your long form videos. Yay!!! I agree you have great taste, loads of talent and are natural storyteller. 🙌
I love this for you (and us, your fans). Thank you for sharing your journey, vulnerabilities, and aspirations. I look forward to more of this series. (Edited to add: You've accomplished so much in spite of the monsters, I'm proud of YOU. You found your niche and a career where all of the could-have-beens are present in what you do!!! I genuinely believed that you had a professional background in beauty/hair when I first saw your dolls, I'm floored that you didn't!!)
Goodness, I can feel your heart is pouring and made me tear up a bit because I can hugely relate. Thank you for this. Love to have more content like this please
Hi Josh, I truly hope TikTok doesn’t get banned in the US. I’ve been a follower of yours since 2020, and I just want to say how divine and breathtaking your videos and art are. They’ve been such a source of comfort and inspiration for me, especially during some of my toughest times dealing with anxiety and depression. Your art has this incredible way of bringing light into the darkest moments, and I’ll always be grateful for how much it has helped me heal and grow into a better place. Now, I make sure to follow you on all your platforms because supporting you feels like the least I can do after all the inspiration you’ve given me. It’s my dream to one day own one of your majestic works-a piece of your heart and creativity that I could treasure forever. Thank you for sharing your light with the world, Josh. You’ll always have my love and support. With love, Jaydee Beato from 🇵🇭
hope you are staying safe with the fires in la. also i didn’t know you were homeschooled. i was too, grew up in a small conservative town and was very isolated. weirdly a lot of shame even admitting that because it’s a way i can discredit my own intelligence and feel like i’m not from the background that would foster creative merit (even though i know that is not true) and on top of that i am adopted/queer with religious trauma, ahhh you’re speaking to me so hard right now.
Holy smokes ❤ I’m so glad I came to watch the first week. It was real and sad and happy and a bunch of other feelings and I really loved it. You are, imho, a crazy talented artist and story teller with so much awesomeness to share! Also you have a great eye! Like what!?! Like, WHAT? Of f-n course!!! I love what I now know is your big blue Barbie. Not everyone can work that into their home decor and make it look f-n awesome! Lastly, I don’t care much for your monster catholic “friend”. Sounds like a real f-n dink.
Love Bernd 🥰🏳️🌈
I rarely watch TH-cam except for movie trailers and some visual book reviews / flip-throughs, but I’ve deleted TikTok (due to Trump plus reducing phone screen time) and more of this type of video from you would be a welcome change from the majority of stuff I was scrolling through on TikTok. I hope you’re pleasantly surprised at how popular such content will be with your fans/followers. Congrats on your long-form debut!
I’m curious if you will share this artist way journey on either of your Instagram feeds? If not on pidgindoll, then perhaps on your personal feed? Especially if you ever choose to do flat lay shots of your sketchbooks and journal entries. I bet you would have a lot of fun, combining your illustrations with your writing. Samantha Dion Baker’s “Draw Your Day” books have inspired my journaling and I can only imagine how gorgeous your entries would be.
i am just a little gay fredjie but i am so inspired by ur art all the time idk any other boys besides me n u who really just like to draw girls with pretty hair. and i think u r so cool for that

You can do it, let's goooo!
You are a fantastic storyteller! That's a big part of why I subscribed to you, not just the art, but the stories and how you tell them as well!
Thanks, that means a lot!
very excited to see a longer video! I've been following you for a long time and I've loved seeing your work develop over the years. thank you for sharing this with us!
Thanks for watching! It's really scary to upload long form content for me but it's exciting to try something new.

For a really long time, you have personally inspired me to work hard & to show my art to the world. You truly are Amazing 😄
Oh, wow. Now I'm at the part where you discuss your "monsters" and I can SO relate with the second one.
oh, good! I mean not good, but it's nice to know others can relate to my experiences.
I love your work. If we were in class together I would have wanted to be your friend. I'm here for your long form videos. Yay!!! I agree you have great taste, loads of talent and are natural storyteller. 🙌

I love your videos so I’m excited for this series.
Thank you! It's been scary being so vulnerable but hopefully my journey will inspire others.
Long time follower, first time commenter. I've been thinking of buying the book for a couple of years already, looking foward for upcoming videos!
I’m so glad you’re following along! Let me know if you get the book and what your experience is!
Goodness, I can feel your heart is pouring and made me tear up a bit because I can hugely relate. Thank you for this. Love to have more content like this please
