I have Golf 4 with 1.9tdi 101hp and its best first car for me. My golf have driven 415 000km and its work well. (My friend have same engine in his golf and its driven 540 000km :D) I miss the AC but in Finland we dont have long summer so yes it will last: D In my opinion, golf is one of the best cars you can get for 0-3000 euros. it is without a doubt a solid first car, especially for the newbie european drivers, cheap and plentiful parts, big aftermarket support also if youre into that, perhaps its not as special as some more exciting cars, but it really doesnt need to be, great video btw
I've bought my Golf 4 Variant with 200+k km, and had to rebuild an engine and AT transmission, but I'm still happy with it, in Ukraine those cars in pre war period sold around 4-6k USD, I've bought mine for 4.3, but with all spending and attempt to make it suitable for me now I'm going over 11k USD in total, but I have fully rebuilt engine and rebuild gearbox, also I've fixed fenders and mild rust so now it's almost in a shape I'm happy to see, also I've almost removed all soft touch with paint stripper and having nice clean plastic, refurbished climatronic system, sealed some worn out seals, fixed interior as much as I can, damn I'm a vag fanboy now.... my first encounter with G4 happened like 10 years ago when my brother bought g4 for himself as a first car)
Love seeing a video of this car in this color! I remember a green golf just like this used to park on the street I grew up on during the late 90s/early 2000s. I remember admiring from the window and thinking it looked so nice and how lucky the owner was to have it. To this day I like the look of this golf more than any of the modern ones, and seeing it in this color really brings back fond memories. Young drivers using it as their first car are lucky! 😎

Ich hab auch ein 1.4 Baujahre 2003 Meine Tür hinten links geht zwar nicht mehr auf und zu und das Beifahrer Fenster geht auch nicht mehr, Klima ist kaputt aber fährt
@@Александр-н6ж8ьmy 1.4 was burning a lot of oil on 10w-40 semi synthetic. Switched to castrol edge 5w-40 fully synthetic and has not burned a drop. Best oil for this engine. It prefers fully synthetic.
I had a 2L. Good performance but fuel use was 7.5 - 11L/100 kms. Not great. There were many other negatives but I will say it was reliable. A pretty rubbish car overall.

That car is not ok, mine, 1.6 with 220k miles is in less than 12 seconds 0-100
