I take the Minelab Vanquish 540 out for the first time in awhile and try to relearn the TID numbers. Gave the Equinox 900 a day off. What do I think of the 540? Should you buy one? Watch and see.

I have the 540 and I bought the RnB Lithium Ion Battery for mine. I love my 540. It has the same circuitry as the Nox without all the bells and whistles.
I hear those work great. Nice long life….and if you forget to charge you can always stick some AAs in there.
They will find most anything anything else will find just depends on what you want to spend some people have to have a Cadillac but a ole ford will get you to the same place keep on digging!😊

Great video! My MD journey began 3 yrs ago and went from Go Find 66 to Ace 300 to Equinox 600 and currently have Equinox 800. I found a sweet local deal for Vanquish 440 for $80 and couldn't pass up the deal. I realize it is not a 540 like your video but so far I am impressed with how solid the ID numbers are with the Vanquish! Thanks for your video and field run!
Sounds like you have quite a collection there! Yes the thing I like most about the vanquish is the solid numbers😊
The 540 is a Great machine. We started our hobby with me swinging the 540 and my son with the 340.
I later bought the Xterra and passed my 540 to my son.

Hi Florida sand handers, you prefer a single frequency machine than a multi frequency? Since you own both what is your opinion about those two detectors and which one do you prefer? I am looking forward for your answer.
Just picked up an X-Terra Pro for $100 and now I have 3 metal detectors. Vanquish 440 is my back up. The Nox 800 is my go-to and still learning XTP with -16 to 99 VDI. I noticed your pinpointer…which model is it? Minelab PP right? Thinking of getting something different than the Garrett PP.
I'd stay with the garrett unless you feel like it's not working with. Most of the time my ML pp's works fine, once in awhile they seem to have a mind of their own.
Just ordered one. Of course my trucks are all old and i love them too. If it works is it a dumb idea.

Thanks for sharing, i am on the fence with this one. I live in AZ and would like a machine for small gold nuggets, coins and relics. But dont want to spend 1200.00 lol. Any machines around the 450-600 range? thank you sir.
I would look at either Vanquish 540, Nokta Legend or Equinox 600 or 700. Those are all very popular and do well. Roughly $375, $500, $600, $700 in that order. They're all waterproof except the 540, if that's important to you.

WOULD THIS BE GOOD FOR NUGGET DETECTING? ALSO CAN CHANGE THE FREQUENCY MANUALLY TO SAY ONLY USE THE 40 and not all the frequencies at once? Thanks.
i would say no, there's no dedicated gold mode or selectable frequency on the Vanquish. I think guys that hunt nuggets would recommend a dedicated gold machine. I don't have an nugget hunting experience.

Ground balance is preset
I tend to work on the tone it produces more than numbers. On a bright sunny day the screen is hard to make out.
I agree on using tones first. One thing I like about the vanquish is the matte finish screen. It doesn’t reflect as much as the equinox.
Im absolutely torn , between 540 and the legend any advice welcome ( also other machine ) 👍
I have not tried a legend so you know what I would probably recommend. I've found a ton of stuff with my 540. If you think you'll be in water I'd go legend or even an X-Terra pro. I have an X-Terra and it handles the salt water just fine.
