Have a look at the touring park after the weekenders have left rubbish all over cans bottles cardboard boxes bins overflowing.A number of us complained it was two days before it was cleaned up.The caravan pitches, half the grass is just soil.Entertainment was managers from other sites giving a turn. I went a number of times over the years when it was in private ownership then it was a place for a good holiday, we said we would never go to that site again a video is not what happens on a caravan site G shone
Lovely to watch how a Holiday park should be run! Love Parkdean resorts, they know how to do it properly! Pontins need to take a leaf out of their books!
I got back from here yesterday (September 2023) after a short mid-week break and a lot of the main area, eateries etc. has been modernised since this video. Very nice place to stay, immaculately maintained and staff were very friendly!!🙂 Unfortunately the bus taking you into town wasn't running as apparently it's seasonal, although still a bit too early IMO as it's only early September and the park was still very busy. That said, it's not an overly long walk to the town/sea-front (25 minutes), but the amount of crossing busy main roads might not be suitable for everyone. Lots of parking available, but typically around £4.50 for four hours and goes up from there, but after 6pm I know that at least along the sea-front is free. So if you get there from 2pm at least you know it's 'only' going to cost you £4.50 tops. A lot of places we're closing at 6pm, but the arcades (of which there are plenty) remain open until 11pm.
Just watching this brought a tear to my eyes ,went here few times as a kid wow it’s changed so much looks great ,I’ve only got happy memories of it ,might look to go there for few days
wow that place has changed a lot since I last stayed in the mid-90s, I have plenty of fond memories from my annual visits during my childhood and it's great to see it still there and doing so well :)
I want to say it looks exactly how I remember it but also alot has changed since I last went nearly 20 years ago. I used to go every year with my mom and brothers nan grandad the whole family. This year I'm going back for the first time with my misses and our kids. Literally cannot wait. It looks amazing.
Wow I went there when I was a kid before the new swimming pools. I remember swimming in the outside pool and dancing in the family entertainment venue.
I used to go here in the 70s with my family we had a tourer and came for two weeks in June . Aunty Mary and uncle sandy were the main entertainer hosts . No indoor pool in those days . Lots of very happy memories
So many happy memories of holidays at Vauxhall as a kid with Mum Dad and brother in touring caravan. Sadly only me left now but I will cherish those times forever.
Hi Tim. Thanks for that. I've been watching ALL of your UK videos during isolation after testing positive. They are seriously great. Enjoyed them so much. I've been inspired to sell my house buy a van conversion and go travelling for a few years visiting a lot of these places.
The shellfish kiosk at 2:23 used to be manned by a little old man that, apart from fish, used to do mushy peas and mint sauce In the past, it was not a modernish bus but an actual open top tour bus from City Sightseeing - the Banana Bus was one of three ex-London Routemasters with the other two being in Great Yarmouth Transport livery and the third in RM red and the three used to run along the sea front as far as the theme park, turn round and go to the bus station and back onto the seafront the other way up to another holiday where it terminated
Hi Tim yes I remember going on a flying banana in the 80s they were smaller .we always stayed at caister holiday park .I got the bus from there into the town .I remember it used to take for ever as it went around the estates first before getting to town .
Been subscribed to your channel for a couple of weeks. I like your style and your content is relatable. Thought you pushing your wife out of the frame when you did your Bodmin Jail Hotel video was hilarious and it made me laugh out loud for real. Keep up the good work Tim
Thanks Tim not stayed there since about 30 years ago can't believe how much different it looks and thanks again love to watch all your videos you and Gaby do take care look forward to your next video
I love Vauxhall Holiday Park, me and my family went there every year during the late 70s /early 80s, it will always hold a special place in my heart, thanks again Tim for sharing another amazing vlog ❤️😄👍
It was really nice to see what this park is like during the summer season. I've only experienced it during the winter when the metal festival I attend every year is held there and almost all of the activities are shut (the arcade is the only thing that remains open)
This is such a nice place to stay. Everything looks so inviting. So pretty and sunny when you were there that it makes me wish I was there. Enjoyed this Tim very much. Thanks for a wonderful walk. ☀️
Clippesby Holidays, a beautiful camping and caravanning park might be worth a look. The park is owned by the Lindsay family and has won David Bellamy awards for its committment to preserving naural habitats. Clippesby Hall that it surrounds also has an interesting history. Ask for Lee at reception. It has a fun putting course too. Very nice family.
A good thing about this place is it has a disabled access static caravan which are not easy to come by. But I’m really hoping parks start having more of them as it’s really hard to go on caravan holidays with wheelchairs and the few that are available around the country get booked up so far in advance.
Have been to Vauxhall Holiday Park quite a few times with my family and we love it. Last time we went was last year and we can't wait to go back, I'm so excited !!!
Waterside in Weymouth is also a 5 star place - been there many times love it. That said I also went to a Park resort on the Isle Of Wight on Tuesday and it was also good
Anybody else remember seeing AC/DC at Vauxhall late seventies?? This is still a very well-run enterprise. Good park, clean, well maintained, solid reputation and plenty of repeat custom
Ac/dc and many other great bands and artists I had the list of all bands who played there while staying on 50th celebrations the year before selling out to Parkdean
We stayed at Cherry Tree Farm Holiday park many years ago when I was a young nipper. I remember the old bus which used to take us into Great Yarmouth, we didn't have a car then. Perhaps you could go and check it out some time.
They had great service when I went as a 16 year old,we had a room near the road that was a two bedder however we was moved and given a three bed static caravan
Love this video. Love the way that you have transported me to another part of the world, another side of reality. Looking forward to the next ride! : )
We took the grandkids here about 3 times, the last was 2013. It was reasonable then but a little dingy, it looks slightly cleaner in this video. The Glamping things are new though. We stayed in caravans and It looks like they have been cleaned or renewed. The bus into Yarmouth was just a regular half hourly bus service and was really good, you could catch the bus to Hemsby or the other way to California beaches.
I have been to Vauxhall holiday camp in the late 90s I was absolutely impressed by it it’s great that parkdean has so much pride in it definitely Pontins could take a leaf out of parkdean book to see how to successfully run a camp
Great video, Tim. I have visited both Vauxhall and Hemsby Beach holiday parks many times when I was younger. I would love to see Devon Cliffs in Exmouth, which I believe was at one time the biggest holiday park in Europe (or so I was told one time when we visited) and Devon Cliffs in Shaldon. They both hold lots of good memories for me. 😀
Devon cliffs is amazing, that's another holiday park I used to go to every year with my dad and that side of my family. I went last year with my misses and kids and did not disappoint. Highly recommend it.
Hi Tim, love your Holiday Park Tours! would you be able to do a tour of another Park Dean resort - MANOR PARK holiday park Hunstanton? Would love to see that! Thanks x
Wow Tim it’s been years since I’ve been there , used to pass it by two or three times a week back in the nineties It’s definitely changed for the better ☀️☀️ reminds me how much I need a holiday and miss Great Yarmouth Thankyou Tim 🙌🙌☀️☀️🌊🌊
I hope you had a great time there. I haven't been to Great Yarmouth since 2011 so I might consider trying Vauxhall holiday park one day & I if I do I will be getting a train from Nottingham to Norwich & 2 buses from Norwich to Vauxhall Holiday Park & train from Nottingham to Norwich is expensive so I've got some saving up to do & I will more likely pick camping in a tent there. Keep up the good work Tim 👍
ive been going to vauxhall all my life, my family used to go from 1990s all the way up to present day, my childhood was spent here with memories from my childhood that i will always cherrish as some of my family member are no longer here, im turning 18 im november and for the past 17 years ive spent my summer here, those stars have been there since i can remember, that wall didnt used to be there and ot lead directly to the pool

I’ve been going Vauxhall holiday park since 1984 every year them stars has been there for many years hen I started going there the pool was an open pool it’s a great family holiday walking to see front along the river about 20 min to the beach down shopping street
Used to come here as a teenager with my extended family... some good memories here, glad to see it’s still doing well.. will never forget King Louis... used to scare the shet out of me 🥴🤣
No way I went there in about 1986 when I was about 8! The only bits I really remember from back then were a playground, having scampi and chips from the on-site chippy back then and being in the club room and the caravan!
Went here like 3 times in the last 20 years, the snooker/pool room was the best! Loved it but sadly they have a lot of caravans now, which as an adult I find very daunting lol.
