    Good SUV without getting too much unwanted attention like the escalade.

    The video was perfect. The fact that you actually get in the 3rd row to show scale is smart and totally Profesional.

    Love the new Escalade but they lost me with those horrible rear tail lights. I'll take the 2015 Yukon Denali with 4WD and the 3rd place seating option for the second row. Great review!

    • @AutoAcademics
      @AutoAcademics  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Tom Jones Well, Tom Jones, please keep in mind that this video was produced over a year ago when there was no 2016 model. And now that the 2016 GMC Yukon Denali is available with a starting M.S.R.P. that is $525 more than the 2015 model, you'd probably make out a little bit better purchasing a leftover 2015 Denali (we'd never advise paying M.S.R.P. on it, though) or consider a certified pre-owned example for even less. Both choices would give you even more value out of the 2015 model. But we're not trying to sell you a truck here. We're just showing you some of the cool stuff on the market so you can make a better decision for your next purchase. We appreciate your comment and thanks for watching!

      I'd look for a late 15' and get the 8-speed trans. All the earlier Escalades and Denalis had the carryover 6-speed

    Good review Chris! Not sure if your able or allowed to answer this but I'm in the market of getting a SUV. My choices are the 2015 Expedition King or the Yukon Denali (4wd). I know that I'd be saving $ on the Exp but that doesn't mean it's the better of the two. Which do you feel is a better SUV overal? Keep up the good reviews.

    You said one thing that hit the hammer on the head gm as a company doesn't decern there cars as far as interior or style I'm not sure if that's a cost thing or what but when I'm paying 80k plus for a gmc or a Cadillac I want to feel like I'm not in the same car weather I buy the gmc for less or the Cadillac for money I just think in that regard gm as a company need to fix that.

    • @AutoAcademics
      @AutoAcademics  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We're sure cost plays a factor in that, michael perry. Unlike other luxury makes, GM has many levels of trucks based on the same platform, unlike Mercedes or BMW. And this can be seen as an advantage, as well as a disadvantage for GM. The advantage is that they can offer their upscale trucks for a lower price than a competitor with similar features can, as well as improve the base level of their standard trucks since they share components with higher-end versions. The disadvantage is that savvy buyers of their premium trucks might expect more differences (ie- exclusivity) from the run-of-the-mill versions. There are so many trucks on the market now that we're just happy there's a little something for everyone. We appreciate your comments. Thanks for watching!

    better interior quality than the Navigator and more style than the Tahoe or Expedition. plus you get magnetic ride control and a luxury truck ride (not a cross over like ride) but by no means is this even close to the same level of luxury that you get with the escalade which gets it own interior architecture, switch gear, and tuning / sound dampening. still though, better than most of its competitors looks good.

    • @AutoAcademics
      @AutoAcademics  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was a very nice truck, justin bouche, with quite a few nice features. We brought up the comparison between it and the Escalade because at the time of this video, the then current-gen Escalade was only slightly better, in our opinions, and most of that was due to the brand. Now, however, today's Escalade is MUCH more luxurious and more expensive, too, making the comparison between the two a little more disparate. We appreciate your comments. Thanks for watching!

    • @coureurdebois
      @coureurdebois 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the last gen escalades were meh, not bad but not great you could tell it was a GM SUV, the new ones, i mean WOW its incredible, the interior materials and interior architectures are all unique to escalades glad cadillac is no longer just rebaging like they used to.

      cenmike82 I wasn't really concerned about your home specifically. I was curious as to your referencing the Yukon Denali being compared to $72,000 home. I don't know of any US real estate market where $72,000 buys a livable fairly new home in a nice community. A boarded up crack house perhaps, but certainly not a home that most Americans would care to live. I actually live in community where the average home sale price is in the mid $400,000 range, so $72,000 for Yukon Denali would not be considered outrageous.

    Ok I love all these videos that this guy makes, BUT I CANNOT STAND when he refers to SUVs as trucks. It annoys the hell out of me. The only thing that's a truck on most SUVs like this, is the body on frame design, other than that, ITS NOT A TRUCK! It doesn't even drive like a truck because there's no bed that's not attached to the body. It's a great video, but I just can't stand some of the things in it

    • @ConnorGibbsAK
      @ConnorGibbsAK 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually, by definition, its a Sports Utility Vehicle. Its a vehicle designed to haul, carry, and transport. No where does it say that an SUV has to be a Truck. Crossovers are still SUVs, and they are not trucks. Thats why the are called Compact, and Mid Size SUVs. The only SUVs that are"trucks" are the Tahoe/Suburban, Land Cruiser, Expedition, Sequoia, and maybe 1 or 2 others, but no, they are not trucks, and the definition of an SUV is not the same as a truck.

      Its_Ya_Boi120 Bro you did all that explaining and an SUV is still classified as a light truck. You can't decide what a vehicle is because you feel like it, you didn't design it. Google it, call GM or Ford they will tell you that their SUV is a light truck design for family use.

    if I'm paying 70k+ for an SUV it will not be a Yukon. I'll get a gently used Range Rover Sport or used Range Rover before this.

      Hopefully it won't be a Daily driver, RRs are nice and they give you a nice loaner when yours is in the shop getting endless work done to it. I'd get one too if it's a weekender and nothing more, a GM truck will run 300k miles and WAYY easier to work on.
