I have the XL version of this vehicle in the same color. It's a great SUV. The 6.2L gets surprisingly decent mpg (23mpg on the highway) and offers plenty of power fro towing. My only complaint is that it takes premium fuel. Gas prices were under $3 pre gallon when I bought it. All in all, it's been great and I love the color and get a lot of compliments on it.

However, the vehicle must be ordered in order to receive up to 9-passengers seating in each full-size GM vehicle no matter if it is the Escalade, Tahoe or Yukon.
The Cadillac Escalade is just a better pick in my opinion. It has more prestige than a GMC Yukon with Denali trim, and a more presence to me especially with the full LED headlamps, illuminated door handles and luxurious interior materials.
I have a 2015 Grand Cherokee and I absolutely love the fact that i didn't choose a huge full size SUV. Not only is a traditional midsized SUV cheaper but also more fuel efficient as well. They also provide a high up driving position sitting slightly lower than a full sized SUV and even higher than a midsize crossover, but these of course are only the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Toyota 4Runner as they are last traditional midsize SUV's.
Escalade vs Denali , GM needs to decide which will be its true luxury as the escalade exterior is awful but it's interior is appealing compared to the GMC Denali
I have a 2011 Avalanche LTZ with the 5.3. One of my few complaints about the truck is the motor feeling woefully underpowered. The transmission is quick to find the higher gears for fuel economy purposes, which doesn't help either. Ever since I've owned it, I've thought it could use another 50 -75 hp and another 75-100 foot/pound of torque. That's just me though.

2011 HP ratings are quite a bit less than current 5.3. I have a 2014 Silverado 5.3 that is rated at 355 HP, and it’s got plenty of power. When buying a Tahoe XL, which is considerably heavier than my truck, I bought the Denali because I wanted the 6.2, which is rated at 420 HP, and it’s pretty damn fast, even for a big, heavy vehicle.

Then it had a grab handle, to pull yourself up into the vehicle with - and that was a challenge. There's NO key, on the side of the radio is a button to push to start the vehicle - the same to turn it off. It's TOO fancy for me. It's up higher off the ground then my shitty Chevy Equinox. I'm not a fan of Chevy/ GMC vehicles. I prefer Ford's. I drove a Ford Aspire for 14 years, before that - I drove a Subaru Justy for just over 7 years. I'm a fan of Ford's, Subaru's, and Toyota's. I've never rode in or driven a Dodge. So I don't know what I think of those vehicles. The same with Mazda's. I don't want a vehicle that I consider FANCY, and would cost me an arm and a leg to own. I prefer low cost, in payments, and NOT a gas hog. An SUV type of vehicle, 4 wheel drive instead of AWD. Ford Escape, Ford Edge. Ford Ranger. Or a Subaru Baja. Or a Toyota Tacoma. Toyota Tundra. Toyota Highlander. I would need a couple of weeks to decide if I really liked a vehicle or not, but I know it's not possible to test drive a vehicle for 2 weeks. If it were possible to test drive a vehicle for 2 weeks, I'd test drive every vehicle that I could, just to make sure that it's the vehicle I want to be paying payments on. Not just a few minutes of test driving, and say: yep, I like it. And then a week later decide there's some things about it that I DON'T like and I don't want. Oops.... TOO LATE. So I'll just stay with Ford's, Subaru's, and Toyota's.

sigh, i have driven one, it's brushed aluminium just like my lap top. it gets hot AF and cold, but it feels far better than plastic.
