First informative video! Thank you. We are currently in the process of buying a 1950's house and noticed the ground floor chimney breast had been removed. I can't find anything on the council portal so assume this was done a very long time ago as the decoration is also dated. How do i now know if this was done correctly as there is no steel beam that i could see going accross and the person selling the house has no idea or paperwork. Please help!
Can I remove the reinforcement beam or lintel from the front of my brick chimney to create space for a wood-burning stove, like an antique cast-iron model? If I do this, the beam would need to be positioned above head height. Is it safe to make this change without risking a chimney collapse? I really want to install this stove for baking and cooking. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If my chimney stack has been removed already for a loft conversion is there any need for any steels

I.m glad someone pointed this out as you can cause a lot of damage to the house next door.

Hi great video Thansk
Am I right in thinking
Can the neighbour object to this breast removal
Probably not successfully unless they can demonstrate the party wall is significantly weakened thereby.
Thank you very helpful video
Spine wall is too narrow...
