  • To mark this year's Mental Health Awareness Week theme, ‘Movement: Moving more for our mental health’, we are sharing another video interview from our podcast series 'The Happier Life Project'. Chlo Hodgkinson is a PT, coach and mental health and wellness content creator who is also part of the My Possible Self team. In this conversation Chlo and host Gabby Sanderson talk about societal pressures to look a certain type of way and how falling into disordered eating and over exercising can be just as unhealthy as not moving enough. Chlo also explains about the importance of hormones and working with your menstrual cycle; and her own personal journey to heal her relationship with food and exercise.
Chlo is passionate in helping females recover from disordered eating, amenorrhea (the absence of your period) and diet culture. She shares the signs to look out for if your hormones could be imbalanced and what steps you need to take to get the help you need. She also explains about the correlation between low energy availability by not eating enough, overtraining; and anxiety. And how by educating yourself you can enjoy life, enjoy food, enjoy exercise and free yourself from buying into the harmful dieting messages such as ‘eat less, move more.’
