I could use some different songs as well, but there are always going to be new people seeing the band for the first time that want to hear those, so you just have to strike the balance.
Sick and tired of the bitching on here. Suspect most of you are US based or European. You need to remember that we haven't had a UK tour since 2015! US and Canada have had 155 shows since 2016. We've had 2 - both festivals.
@@noctonlincs I appreciate that, just trying to give my take on the setlist, I feel for the UK fans, so hopefully they all can get in on this tour to see them.
Saw Priest for the first time at leeds last week. Was a bit miffed that they cut beyond the realms of death and screaming for vengeance as screaming is my favourite priest song but electric eye was awesome. I found that the weakest song they played was trial by fire. It wasn't bad by any means but didn't really compare to the others. I know many priest fans want them to cut out songs like breaking the law but with it being my first priest show i was happy with seeing the classics as i thought they were all done well, especially living after midnight which i expected to be a bit of a mediocre final song but ended up being a great finale. Loved panic attack and invincible shield as the two best off the new album but the standout of the night for me was rapid fire. Its the song that got me into priest 6 years ago and its remaind a favourite of mine. It was an incredible show and i couldn't have asked for much more from my first priest show
Well that's awesome to hear that you enjoyed the show. The people complaining about the British Steel songs making the concerts every time, still don't understand that people going that are new, want to hear those tracks.
@@HunterBoldingVideo thanks. I personally don't have an issue with priest playing stuff off British steel as it's my favourite album of theirs and there isn't a bad song on it
@@HunterBoldingVideo I like a few Judas Priest songs but I wouldn't consider myself a Die hard fan, mainly going because Sabaton is opening for them, so might as well stay for Judas priest, came to this video to get an idea of what to expect for the setlist
Electric eye should be in. Crown of horns should be in. Lose Living after midnight and breaking the law. Rob thinks we all want to hear them and we DONT. Love Bites worst song on Defenders, wheres Freewheel burning?. Would love Ram it down too. UK always gets stiffed by Priest Terrible setlist overall
At leads, they swapped screaming for vengeance and beyond the realms of death for electric eye, which is the song that got me into metal 7 years ago but screaming for vengeance is my favourite priest song and beyond the realms of death is another masterpiece I was really looking forward to and I’m quite disappointed. Don’t know why they had to play lightning strike to be honest, that was the weakest along with living after midnight but you have to expect that. I saw on the set list they also may have played too old to be wise but they haven’t at either show yet, if they do that would be them playing half of British steel live. Overall, really great first priest show that I’ve been waiting for forever, but too many live staples, too few new album songs (would have liked serpent and gates of hell or crown of horns), and no true deep cut something like solar angels, genocide, tyrant or even cheater as Rocka Rolla is 50 years old this year which Rob mentioned. Sorry for rant
Don't forget, we haven't seen a tour in the UK since 2015. There's always songs I would prefer but overall a varied setlist which should satisfy most people
@noctonlincs That's true, butthey were playing Jawbreaker,Between the hammer and the anvil, screaming for vengence, steeler and throwing in Devils child, judas is Rising and genocide in the fall. They were playing one shot at glory ,the sentinel, hell patrol ,blood red skies, freewheel burning and throwing in a touch of evil on the spring to summer leg. Those are much better setlists then this.I would have been dissapointed with this set had I gone.
Personally I would love to see some of those songs. But you're missing my point. Because it's so long since they have toured over here they are going to play it a bit safer. I'm cool with that, just annoyed that us UK fans have had such a raw deal for so many years
Bands aren’t going to go out there and not play their most well-known songs. They have to be able to draw in the more casual fan. It would be tour suicide. Saw them last night and, sure, there were songs they didn’t play I would have liked to hear but they have 50 years and 19 albums. Cannot squeeze it all in. But, Halford can still belt it. Got my money’s worth.
I’m personally sick of HBFL, Metal Gods, YGATC, Painkiller and Living after Midnight. Cool songs, they just need a rest.

Green Manalishi can go.

I am a spoiled American, so that's where I was trying to come at with this analysis.
@@HunterBoldingVideo Fair enough. But it's really not relevant in the circumstances. But I respect the fact that you are obviously a Priest fan

seriously can we pls drop BTL and LAM already?? At least give em a break for one full tour.
As much as I’d like to see this too, those songs are not for fans like you and I, they’re there for the first-timers seeing the band.

Boring set list... Not surprises or never ever played songs ... 😢
They’ll change it up for the US tour. This setlist is for the cancelled UK tour with Ozzy that they were supposed to play in 2019.
@@KevinQ1989 I hope... They have a lot of songs to play, not the same set list every tour
Much worse setlist than the spring and fall 2022 tours
