Simpler times. I'm so grateful I was a kid in the 70's - 80's. Life was wonderful. No tech distractions. Summer's that seemed to last forever. After cartoons and breakfast was over on Saturday morning, me and my siblings were kicked out of the house where we played with friends all day and early evening. We would return at 6 p.m. for dinner and then beg to go out some more. That is a time that will never happen again...at least in my lifetime. By the way, I still remember the TV ad that every night stated, "It's 11:00 p.m. Do you know where your children are?" Yes, life was quite safe back then and we rarely locked our doors.

Many years ago, I watched a tv show about unusual people with great talents. One man sounded like a trumpet without using a trumpet, and i always wondered what the song was. It sounded like a tv theme, but I couldn't quite work out what it was (though my mind kept going to St. Elsewhere). Now, while watching "Friends", my thoughts went to the episode where Joey's neighbour was singing "Morning's Here", when all of a sudden i realised it was the same tune as what I had heard the man play many years ago. Having Googled the "Morning's Here" tune, I found myself here. So glad to finally know what the name of the song is! 😊👍

I think my teacher would have been Joel Leach or Mr. Delwarte ?? and to think I would be watching Grant performing with Chuck Mangione at the Hollywood Bowl a few years later and I'm sitting with Jerry Moss Herb Alpert and Gil Friesen. for the "Children of Sanchez" Live recording , I guess not really a surprise considering his great talent. BTW I also met the great Clark Terry who dropped in to offer advice and coaching to the trumpeter's.

I have always enjoyed this ear candy, as my music teacher Mr Gambi- used to say to our class, "The mark of a good song is that anyone can whistle it back after hearing it just once! My teacher Mr Gambi- at The School of Creative and Performing Arts- Cincinnati Ohio- mid 70s. "A good song has a memorable melody in which one can whistle back after only hearing the melody one time! "Feels so Good" by Chuck Mangione has what Mr. Gamby talked about 😎🎸🎶🎶

Dude. This live version is half the length of the album recording but feels like it's twice as long. Phenomenal performance from everyone in the band

One thing about it is that it's about 10% faster than the original version, just coming down to random inconsistencies of playing live.

There were two versions. The long version on the album and the short version on the 45 rpm single that was played on top 40 radio. I still have the 45 single that Ithat I got back when I was a kid

Blast from the past! Feels So Good was one of the first albums I ever bought. It kept my sanity to blast and dance to my first year of college in '77.

The only thing I would criticize about this video is that they concentrated on Mangione's piano during Geisman's guitar sole. Grant was, and I presume still is a wonderful jazz guitarist.

I agree. It brings back great memories, but I wanted to see the drummer in action. He's doing some good work behind the scenes.
