    Phenomenal channel. No cringey or gimmicky nonsense, informative and good info. Thank you for reminding me to get around to cutting and programming some spares. I work at a hardware store and can cut keys and use our chipkey programmer for free. I will have to try and see if our programmer will work with these Amazon keys.

    Very good and informative video.
    I have two cloned keys--those same generic Amazon keys you have that I got cut by a locksmith and programmed myself with 2 master keys, for my Grand Marquis. They keychain I use every day for the car uses one of the master keys, and I figured if I ever lost it, I'd still have the cloned keys as spares and could program more spare keys. Now I realize I'm probably better off using one of my cloned spare keys for everyday carry and keep my 2 master keys at home.

      Hey Peter thanks for stopping by.
      Oh yeah, I for got to mention that.
      The reason I bought so many Transponder many keys, is so I can always keep two in a safe location in the house.
      So If I ever loose a key, I'll have two previously programmed keys capable of programming new cheapo's from Amazon (2 for $20), without having to go to the dealer to pay an hour of shop labor for programming.

      Search; "2003 Crown Victoria Remote Key Fob" in Amazon.
      Compare the numbers on the back of one you already have, and match them up with one on Amazon.

    I wish I took notes from the last time I watched your video.
    I gave local hardware store $75 to clone my key last year.
    Today they freely cut my new NOS Strattec blank but he cut it too deep and it does not turn the lock.
    To fix me up they kindly cloned my now-useless Strattec's unique ID to my previous clone.
    Now I have 2 unique and cut keys.

      Might be time to get a FORScan Device for $20.
      Then you can program your own factory keys that can be used to program extra keys.

    I have a Crown Vic [ex]-Police Interceptor, so I can confirm that it does not have the security feature you mentioned. (I could probably start my car with the handle end of a spoon-haha.) I had a few clone keys made, and they seem to work fine; however, I would like to add a remote so that I can lock/unlock my car from afar. I've heard that Crown Vics (or, at least, CVPIs) about 2008+ later all contain remote-entry boxes in the driver's door, so I'm going to look into it. Apparently, I need the keys + a cheap scan tool and the free-for-person-use Forscan software.

    My issue is the dumb key you have in this video, that you say is only able to open the locks and not start the engine, that’s all I have and while I’m glad I have a key at all that’s working I’m wandering if my pats system is compromised because it just doesn’t make sense that it’s able to start my car.

    • @PanzerPlatform
      @PanzerPlatform  ปีที่แล้ว

      Go make a "dumb" key copy at Walmart for $0.99 and see if it starts the engine.
      That will confirm your PATS is not working properly.
      That can be good, or bad on how you look at it.
      It's possible the previous owner disable the PATS system too.

    • @PanzerPlatform

      Hello,
      I'm not sure what you're talking about.
      Programming the Key FOB Remotes is actually easier than programming spare "smart" keys because the Remotes do not require 2 additional working Remotes to complete the procedure.
      You can program Remotes at any time, even if you have no other working / existing Remotes.
      When it comes to keys, you need two additional working / existing smart keys that were already programmed.

    We learned today from Isaac's uncle that his car does not have the module that allows key fobs let alone the actual keyless entry. So for now, he's stuck with old school manual locks. We're going to have to look at going aftermarket.

      This young man added Ford factory keyless entry to his P71, with factory key fobs by getting a driver door module from a civilian Crown Vic from the junk yard for $10. From what I see in the video it’s as easy as plug, and play. Factory key fobs are 2 for $10 on Amazon.
      -
      If you can’t get a hold of a civilian Crown Vic driver door module here is a good aftermarket option;

      Hello,
      Would you rather pay $10 for a key from Amazon, and program it yourself, or pay $50 for a key, and an additional $200 for the Ford Dealership to program it?
      Same with the Fobs, $5 on Amazon, or $50 at the Ford Dealer, and $200 for them to program it.
      You need to keep a minimum of two "already working / programmed" keys to program yourself.
      I also have other drivers that need their own key for both cars.

    • @PanzerPlatform
      @PanzerPlatform  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yo K,
      Thanks for watching.
      First I would re-read the programming procedure on page 83 of your owners manual.
      If you don’t have your manual, here is a link to view it;
      owner.ford.com/tools/account/how-tos/owner-manuals.html
      -
      Next I would confirm & verify you car can successfully enter the programming procedure.
      Do this by following the first step on page 84 of your manual.
      If your Grand Marquis can successfully enter the programming procedure, and you are still unable to program the remote key fob, it’s possible the key fob is not compatible with your car.
      The last time I checked prices on original factory OEM key fob remotes at my local Ford dealer, they were around $50-$80 each.
      However, I have purchased replacements from Amazon for around $5 each, and they work.
      If you’re trying to use the $5 ones from Amazon, I would say try a different brand from a different seller. So it’s up to you to buy / try / return from Amazon, or just buy the expensive ones from the dealer.
      Let me know how it works out.

    what if you dont have a remote at all bought a 2000 crown vic and was only given a key No Remote

    • @PanzerPlatform
      @PanzerPlatform  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yo Gabriel,
      Thanks for watching.
      Pages 85-87 of your Owner’s Manual will answer your question.
      In short, your 2000 Vic can have up to 8 programmed keys, and 4 programmed Remote Fobs.
      You may purchase the Remote Fobs on Amazon for around $5 each, (Ford Dealers charge around $30 each).
      You may purchase the “Smart” Keys on Amazon for around $12.50 each, (Ford Dealers charge around $30 each).
      Make sure you buy the correct ones.
      You will be able to program the remotes yourself since you have one properly functioning smart key with the instructions listed on page 85.
      However, in order to program extra Smart keys yourself the “easy way” as listed on page 86, you must already have TWO functioning Smart keys. So I suggest you buy at least four smart keys from amazon, and take them to your local ford dealer to be cut, and programmed, (or authorized locksmith).
      Most dealers will charge you 1 hour shop labor for this job, but based on my experience it varies wildly from dealer to dealer, ($75 - $450). So call around to several dealers to find the best price.
      If you don’t want to take your car to the dealer you have one more option, but it requires you purchase a dealer level scan tool called FORScan. They cost around $30 on amazon, and require a Windows PC laptop to operate. This option is very technical, and above the skill level of most people. But if you can hook up a wireless printer in your home internet network for example, you should have no problem.
      Let me know if you have anymore questions, and please come back to update me on how you resolved this issue.
      -Chuck

    So I'm confused. I have one original key and two "Keyless to go" keys from Amazon. Can they be programed ? Thanks

    • @PanzerPlatform
      @PanzerPlatform  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yo Robert,
      Thanks for watching.
      I'm sorry for the confusion.
      I'm not very good at explaining things.
      If you only have one original "smart" key that starts the engine, you will NOT be able to perform the DIY program method listed in your owner's manual.
      You must have at least TWO working "smart" keys that start the engine to DIY program new "smart" keys yourself.
      So I suggest you call around and comparison shop your local Ford dealers & locksmiths to cut & program ONE key.
      Once you have TWO working smart keys that start the engine, you will be able to program up to six more by yourself.
      I do not recommend the "smart keys" sold at Walmart & hardware stores because, even though they may start the engine, they cannot be used with the DIY programming procedure to program more keys, in the event you lose one. I found out the hard way.
      Let me know if you need any more help.
      -Chuck
