Really appreciate the info about using the lock pliers! I would have never thought of it to hold the spring while inserting the screw. Thanks again for the video!
I just purchased a Springfield Armory .40S&W EMP4, and I am so happy to have found your website. I was hoping I might be able to find a guide on replacing the EMP4's single, flat-wire spring here on TH-cam. I've been trying to reach someone at SA about spares like recoil springs, so I was thrilled to find your site.
Sir, thank you for this video! I have an SR9C and would like to switch to a recoil spring that isn't so heavy, my opinion, would a lighter one also help reduce muzzle flip?
Only if you are shooting a low pressure load to go with the reduced weight spring. The higher the spring rate the greater the reduction if felt recoil and muzzle rise, this is accomplished because the higher rate is slowing down the recoil impulse.
@@GallowayPrecisionhave you had anyone give any feed back on using the 18lb guide rod with 115 to 124gr 9mm loads? I ordered your guide rod for my sr40c and it's been so long I don't remember which one I got but I think I went 2 lbs over stock but I've used your parts on 3 other sr9c pistols and 2 sr40c. I've always kept my sr40c but let the 9s go but I just got another 9 and will be keeping this one for sure. Just stuck your smooth it kit in it 2 days ago.
HELLO GALLOWAY STAFT, LAST NIGHT I BOUTH A STANLEY GUIDDE ROD FOR MY RUGUER SR9. YOU SAID THE ORIGINAL IN MY GUN CAME WHIT 18 POUND FROM FABRIC YOU RECOMEND 20 POUND FOR MY GUN. THATS THE ONE I JUST BOUTH FROM YOU I HOPE WORK GOOD THANKS. ANGEL
Got one for my xd-s. Garbage.washer was bent from the pressure of the spring. Looked on TH-cam and others had same problem 4 years ago. Figured they'd redesign or stop selling this junk
is 22lb better than the 17lb in a ruger security 9?...mine starting to hang up as the next shell ramps into barrel, while another shell is pressing upwards against shell underneath it...did it like 3 or 4 times at the range the other day
You need fire a higher quality ammunition if it was doing it with the 17lb stock guide rod. If the pressures aren't consistent you'll end up with the with this type of malfunction as the slide isn't going all the way to the rear like it should. What ammunition were you having issues with?
Hello. I got one of this and I first like it, until went to the range. I lost so much accuracy. First I tought I was in a bad day. Then I asked a friend who is an instructor to shot with my gun. Same result ! Everything was going left. 40 Shot, all the same. As the only thing change on the gun was the Spring rod, I put back the old spring and rod in my PK380. Get 6 out of 7 in the 2 inches group in the center. I do not know how, but the new spring had influence on the accuracy. Any one experience the same issue ? Forgive my spelling English is not my first language.
Better than mine! Lol but yea. I bought a stainless steel guide rod for my Taurus th9 and it did that for a while. Think it just needs to be broke in as in shoot more to get it to shoot right.
I had no problems with my Galloway precision spring in my pk380. In fact I have two of them from Galloway precision for my pk380. No problem with either one with the accuracy of it.
That will depend on the load that you are shooting. The higher the spring rate the greater the reduction in felt recoil and muzzle rise. 115gr non plus p don't go above 18lbs, 124gr and plus p go with the 20bler.

Did alot of mods to my SR9 via your parts.Love the ghost trigger and no misfeeds with the stainless guidrod and firing pin rod.Great products.

Excellent video.
Glad you liked it!
3:42 Why you needed heat for blue Loctite? They can be disassembled using hand tools :)
Not always, look at any bottle of blue loctite and it will give you the correct heat at which it will melt to be able to remove something.
I just bought a Stainless Steel Spring and Guide Rod from you for my Glock 27 (Gen 3).
This should be linked to the pages for all your guide rods on the website. They maybe already but i didn't see them.
I'll have to check with Charles but I think they are on the website itself.
It's on all the spring set listings, just went and checked.
When will the guide rod for the spectrum be available again?
Will the ruger lc9s guide rod and springs ever be back in stock?
Redesigning the whole guide rod as we speak.
GallowayPrecision thank you for responding I will definitely be purchasing that when it is released

What type of tape are you using? Electrical tape is a nogo as it melts. Otherwise, great video!
Just some blue painters tape.
outstanding
