I'm from Detroit and I appreciate how you presented our city, it was fair, beautiful, and truthful. It wasn't all gloom and doom and it wasn't all glitch and glamor so I thank you
I visited Detroit last June and think that it's one of the best places I've travelled. The people make your city. Genuine, friendly, and fun. I skipped the touristy things and tried to go places only a local would and was rewarded with some amazing memories. Detroit, keep doing what you're doing.
Nice video but soo much more to see!!! Detroit is very diverse from the areas, cultures, and food. Beyond downtown is where you find the real soul and families with generations actually born and raised in the city. From a Detroiter born and raised ❤
Thx for visiting my city. We don't have a lot like other major cities, but I hope your time here was dope and you got to check out all the new things we've added in the last 5 years. Come again this summer for other events like our weekend festivals, RiverDays and our local Fireworks.
From my experience it’s the people that make a place. From Andy’s video that comes across. That’s more of a reason for me to visit. The cool sites are just the icing.
I live in a suburb of Detroit and I want to thank for portraying this city in a positive yet realistic way. This city has been through many ups and downs. But Detroit is rebounding, and I’m here for it!
Love this. Lived in Detroit my entire life, and in my 51 tears on this Earth, ive seen this city at its absolute worst. I've never seen this city so vibrant. People still trash us, talk shit, racist comments about the demographics. We are just like everyone else. Brothers and sisters just living, and providing for our families. I love this city. I'll never leave
Checkout local venues for live shows, there's a ton of events and it's the best city IMO if you like that kind of stuff. In Detroit there's Fox theatre, the Fillmore, Saint Andrews hall / the Shelter, Masonic Temple, the Majestic Theatre, el Club, Comerica park, Ford field, Little Caesars arena, Smalls in Hamtramck, Loving Touch and the Magic Bag in Ferndale, Royal Oak Music Theatre and Mark Ridley's comedy club in Royal Oak. Three casinos too; MGM Grand Detroit, Motor City casino, Hollywood Casino at Greektown.
I'm from 🥳💃🏽Detroit *West Side*!! You're the real MVP🏆 for visiting (Welcome) AND displaying our beloved city in such a fair light🙌🏽!! Glad you were able to see all that you saw & how awesome that you caught the Grand Opening👏🏽!! Thank you from the bottom of our ❤s!!
Thank You for Sharing this experience!! I cried as I feel that people think Detroit is a Hellhole But it Is NOT!!! I felt myself choke up with pride seeing my People in HEART of the City, I LOVE MY CITY!!! The D is That Place to Be😍❤️
As a native Detroiter (who moved away a long time ago) and a photography/video enthusiast, thank you for capturing the the D so beautifully! Loved this! 💛
Respect born in DETROIT, late in 58. Spent the first 20 years of my life there. Moved to the Bay Area, and spent the next 40 years there, except for Military service. I lived in Oakland. It took me a minute to catch the vibe of Oakland. A lot like DETROIT, only a lot smaller. I'll never LOVE anyplace like DETROIT. I have a very FOND place in my heart for Oakland, Da Town.
Nice video! But SO MUCH was missed!!!!!!! Move a little outside of downtown. Beautiful belle isle, ANOTHER country just by looking across the river, Detroit pizza...❤❤❤. Come back😂
Ay bro! Did u get back on smokin? That update video for the 365 days off weed ain’t comin no more? I was hoping for them to come dawg.. such dope perspectives! Cheers from Rio bro! I also go back and forth with it.. going to start again cold turkey last day with it today! Lets get it.. dope video btw feels very personal!
You just scratched the surface of the Detroit so much more of the seasons of the show hopefully you can come back can you show more than just downtown Detroit is a very beautiful city
I literally jus said the same thing... no hate but this was a Downtown Detroit video ...Detroit energy from west ,east, southwest is different and unique in their own way
I'm from the Detroit area. But live in the Bay Area near Oakland. It's been almost 13 years since I've visited Detroit. I've been living in the Bay area for 22 years. Most of my family are back there. Detroit and Oakland are very similar. More specifically, the hood and similar mannerisms. The only way that you'll know someone from the Bay area in Detroit is if they "Hella" a lot. In Oakland. The only you'll know if they say, "What up doe!" There are a lot of Oakland peeps who have relatives in Detroit and vice versa. Whenever you're back in the city. Head over to "Buddy's Pizza" in downtown Detroit. That's the origin of Detroit Pizza. Also, get the coney dogs. That's a Detroit origin, too. Detroit is heading in the right direction for sure. But it still has a long way to go. It's a big city that was once the worlds richest city. Venture into some of the historical neighborhoods. But also. Be careful. You don't want to venture too far. The neighborhoods can be dangerous like Oakland. Just know where and where not to go.
Come on now...I was born, raised and forged in the gritty streets of Detroit. Grew up in the shadows of the riots. Yes, it's a tough city but the people there have soul and true GRIT. Geaux Lions!!! 💙🦁
@@anniekrist1475 where'd I stated that Detroit people don't? I was just pointing out to be smart on his travel. But that wasn't the only thing that I'd mentioned. It's like if you came here to Oakland. I'd tell you the same.
Good video. I think viewers would enjoy you walking and touring some of the great food places we have, especially downtown. American/Lafayette coney Island, 5 guys (Awesome Cheese burgers with fries and drink, worth the money), Pizza Papalous (Detroit style Pizza worth the money), some of the best BBQ wings I ever had Sweet Guys Tavern etc.
Detroit deserves all the credit in the world. So much happening these days and none of the negative politically-motivated press or Racial BS stories that so many huge cities are getting! In the D people just live proudly for their city and love one another..Simple as that
I've been pondering visiting Detroit. I just got back from Chicago in October 2024. Solo trip as I usually do. No plans when I went to Chciago. Just walked around etc and found stuff to do or eat or grab coffee at. Can i do the same in Detroit?
Well he really only showed downtown detroit... most big cities ( downtown) looks amazing.. Detroit has a lot of different vibes from Eastside, Westside, Southwest "Detroit "... this video should be called " I went downtown detroit "
It’s one thing to visit but it’s another to live there! I love Detroit for a lot of reasons but Jefferson is off the chain!!! Unbelievable that people will drive on the sidewalks cut through the intersection because they had no patience or regard for life!! The Isley bro. concert was happening Police should have been patrolling. Nobody will let you chance lanes even tho you use your blinker! Bumper to bumper cars! It was Father’s Day so of course there’s extra traffic but when your stuck in it and someone has their music and bass so loud that you can hear for three blocks and got kids in the backseat with vulgar music playing and I mean I wouldn’t torture my enemy with how nasty the song was that I’m straight on ever going to the Aretha Franklin for concerts! I’m disgusted and seen just how ungodly the world has become! Detroit needs way more Police the city should be rich off tickets for all the non law abiding citizens! We need to do way better as people!
Anyone on here from Detroit?
Yessir! Stunning filmmaking, sir. Thanks for showing my city in such an amazing light. That night was so special.

It’s nice that Detroit has moved past the ruins porn that everyone was one 5-10 years ago and focusing on its next chapter.
