And no inclusions! Impressive! Nicely done and great save. That was a LOT of worm holes to fill too! Thanks LABD and MM. Two of my favorite quality savers of days gone by!
Kitty timestamps: 03:55 Avril on duty, checking the wood toughness 04:12 On the upper-right side of the screen 17:53 Introduction and a little petting So, that's an old option for wringing clothes. I know cats are very fluid, but please don't try to dry Avril with that :D Thanks for the great video! May God bless you!
As much as I enjoy the woodworking, I especially love seeing the metal components being revived. It must be so satisfying to take something that has been forgotten or neglected and bring it back to life! ❤️
Another lovely restoration you guys! My great grandmother used those back in her heyday. Back before washing machines weren't really a popular thing in the southern US. We had to use wash bins with the ribbed plank for washing clothes, and a hand wringer for drying them. Yes, there was such things as "washing machines" back then, but they cost an arm and a leg during those times.
Avril seem perfectly content with watching you do the hard part. After all he checked out and approved the new piece of wood. Great job on the restoration. I used a wringer washing machine for many years. I've never seen a hand crank version. We've come a long way since then.
I really appreciate the craftmanship on display at this channel (including the video production). You make it look easy, when I know from experience it isn't. You guys are doing it right.
I can watch y’all all day. I love the craftsmanship and the hard work y’all put into every piece of equipment. Please keep up the work and pet Avril for me.
What a blast from the past. My mother had one like that and I had the task as a child of cranking the handle on a Monday as it was wash day...Brilliant restoration..
we cant smel but the brain remamber this thinks befor you think that you smel im sory for my lauguage becse am not english man but i think the idea is clear
When I saw the wringer the first time I had a few flash backs. I've used one of those more times than I care to admit, and immediately my brain took me back to the smell of the clothes, the sound of the wringer and of the water dropping back into the sink, and the feel of the handle as I turned it for my grandma. I could also see her worn and red hands after a day of washing. She used this for small items, bigger items were wrung out on a full size mangle. My next door neighbour was still using her mangle, and washing with a "dolly tub" into the late 70s. Thank you for sending me back to a time of happy memories.
I love 💕 watching all of your videos, there is a zen-like quality to them that is extremely calming and soothing, and they help me to de-stress from this crazy world of Covid pandemic and dangerous politics. Thank you so very much for sharing your art and your master craftsmanship with the world!
Its nice to see an old tool like a draw knife being used for its proper purpose. Its also nice to see Avril doing her inspection duties and making sure everything is fixed OK.
You do such excellent work with everything. You are a joy to watch. Your woodworking skills fascinate me, especially using the chisel. Ear rubs to Avril and best wishes to you.
I can't help but to think about how many years this was used. Howw many historically important events that have come and gone during it's life... and how many pairs of underwear this has wrung out 🤪.
Aside from the superb craftsmanship. I love seeing someone use tools correctly. Then there is Avril making her inspections throughout the video. Well done all.
Bravo.
Very good work guys !! I remember my Grandmother using one theses .......so many memories !! Great restoration it looks and works wonderfully !! Fabulous work casting a new part as well !! Cant wait for the next video !!
My favorite TH-camr! Beautiful restoration, as always; thank you! Love Avril! I was worried she was walking the plank 😆 Your care for her and your work is lovely 😍
You are a true master at restoration and Avril is the perfect supervisor, lol. It is always such a pleasure watching you working on any project. ~Kevin
I do remember a round washing machine with a wringer assembly on it when I was very young. I also heard of people getting their hands caught in them as well. Thumbs Up!
I remember tat I remember that my Grandmother in Liverpool, England had a mangle as she called it. They were good at breaking buttons. A great renovation job. Congrats.
I've been snooping the channel after I got recommended the restoration of the bread slicer and I have to say your videos are so calming. I normally have the worst attention span but I've sat calmly through at least 4 of your videos already. Also makes me miss the woodshop class I took! Anyway, keep up the amazing work!!
Another fine restoration goes into the books, of a piece of equipment that's extremely nice to have, yet can cause such pain if misused! Thanks again for sharing. Be well, stay safe and God bless. Rev. D.
I haven't started watching LADB's new video yet, but I already clicked the thumb up. You just know it's going to be excellent. Update: just watched it. No disappointment. Brilliant!
I find it fascinating just watching you , not knowing who you are and what you look like but wondering how long you have worked like this and where you live etc etc .
Very well done. Lots of arts/craftsmanship being used in one video. I hope it inspires the next generation to learn to make and repair items not only for history preservation, but for using these items in everyday life. Nicely done sir.
Wow. What a great restoration. I love the idea of remaining faithful to the original design and not "moderning" (is that even a word?) lol. Brilliant 😁
Beautiful piece, i didn't know that existed 😄 I love when you try everything to keep the original and changing something JUST if you really have to. Really amazing 👏,
Casting new replacement parts? Wow that was crazy!! Beautiful job, well done.
...said the God of "make a new one"..
Thanks you my mechanics, means a lot 🥲 😁
And no inclusions! Impressive! Nicely done and great save. That was a LOT of worm holes to fill too! Thanks LABD and MM. Two of my favorite quality savers of days gone by!
@@Traboukos LOL Good one
For a "I make a new one" guy it must be a challenge.

Wow, a lot of work. Very well done from start to finish. Congrats 🥳
Great restoration, I'm older than dirt and i remember my grandmother using a similar one. Great kitty kat
Your videos give the impression that each hand made object is precious and has an history.
First thing to do when receiving a worm drilled piece of wood: Cook it in the oven. 2h at water boiling temperature will kill any worms or eggs...
Two minutes at 900 W microwave oven works great.
Did he just..? ... Why ... I think he did ... “He made a New one!!” ... Fantastic restoration!!
LADB actually makes new parts quite often, usually in wood and others by filing some bolt or screw on the drill press.
Bravo
I can watch y’all all day. I love the craftsmanship and the hard work y’all put into every piece of equipment. Please keep up the work and pet Avril for me.
Beautiful job! Avril was even more helpful on this job more than she normally is. 😻
What a blast from the past. My mother had one like that and I had the task as a child of cranking the handle on a Monday as it was wash day...Brilliant restoration..
This may be my favorite of your restoration videos! And, of course, love seeing Avril! 😻
First of all , you've got to get Avril's approval !! Work's amazing ... Congrats
I can smell the old wood, even though I'm not there.
Reading this tricked my sense of smell into remembering hiding in old cupboards and wardrobes.
Witchcraft!! You're lucky TH-cam doesn't accept that as a reportable offence, yet.
Surprised to see you here, but a very welcome suprise
Must have a good nose

I love your attention to detail and how you re-use as many of the original parts as possible. Thank you.
Your craftsmanship has been great to watch and learn from. Each video I seem to learn something new.

Very Nice! I love the beauty of the old wood and metal that you brought back to life.
Stunning piece of restoration! Loved every minute!
I so much enjoy your restorations! It seems to me that you’re turning back, even if briefly, the malicious hands of time. Thank you.
Love how Avril sits in the middle of the parts as if saying, these parts aren’t impressive, I’m impressive!
