      Thanks Courtney. I find it so sweet too. In day 4's video, I managed to watch them get settled in together. Squabbles at first but then all cosy and loving each other again. They are hilarious. Will upload day 3 later today, and day 4 tomorrow. Thanks for your lovely comment.

    I say it all the time, who needs a TV when you have chickens lol. My girls & guys are so full of personality & drama.. I'm glad they came to an understanding, hope it lasts lol.

      I am glad you are enjoying watching them. It is my aim to make one every day until they hatch, and maybe also while the chicks are young, if we are lucky enough to hatch any! I so glad you;re enjoying following the journey. Thanks for your lovely comment.

      @@r.k.dreamingspetchickens1266 thank you for describing your set up in the last video . I have 4 seramas . Two smooth and two baby silkied seramas . I hatched them out for a friend and she let me keep two but i think they are both roosters . Uff . My two smooth seramas are Betty and Ginger - who looks like Artemis . Poor Artemis :( yes in a serama FB page I am on , it says they have heart issues and maybe the new chicken caused her a fright . I am so sorry and hope the egg hatches . Betty - my white smooth serama is sitting on 3 frizzled chabo eggs -

      @@bhaarpropertiesllc3095 Thanks so much for your sympathy about Artemis. It's lovely to hear that your Ginger looks like her. I follow a channel on instagram called Mad4hens (check it out - you may like it) and their Lily reminds me of Artemis too. I find silkies seramas adorable. Were their parents a silkie and a serama? (Which parent was which? And how big are the babies? Serama sized or bigger?) I am curious because we used to have silkie hens and I had wondered what would happen if we hatched the eggs from them and Mr Snuggles. Unfortunate to hear your two babies are roosters , but I hope they will be lovely boys and bring you lots of enjoyment. And hope Gigners frizzle hatch goes well! Will be so cute to see her with the chicks.

      I had read the same about chickens having heart issues and possibly dying due to shock or fright. I cannot be certain what happened to our lovely Artemis. it was such a shock to find her like that. She was only 2 years old. I had been worried for a couple of weeks that maybe she was feeling poorly, but it is so hard to tell with chickens. And then we had slowly introduced a new chicken to the flock and they seemed all fine together, but I think they may have had a squabble on that last morning when Artemis passed away. Artemis had no clear injuries, but that may have been it. I was devastated. (We re-homed the new chicken.) I miss Artemis, but am so glad that we have that last egg of hers to try and hatch out. I hope you are enjoying your flock of seramas. How many do you have?

      Hi RJ, I was so upset about Artemis. She is one of the reasons I started this channel because after she was gone, it was actually so lovely to have those videos of her to remember her by. Because she was in the house during the incubation, I got so attached to her. I am not sure what had happened exactly. Seramas are prone to heartattacks. I had also been keeping an eye on her because she had been acting a bit tired sometimes. We had carefully introduced a new chicken to the flock at that time too (who we have since rehomed) but Artemis and the new chicken may have tussled for pecking order. All I know is she had passed away when I arrived to find her in the morning. No injuries on her body. It was very upsetting. So wonderful to hear you thinking of her, and appreciating what a good mama she was. Take care.

    Why not transfer the eggs squeak has with the other girls why let them go to waste? I would leave her in the cage alone and place the reste of the eggs with the other girls.

    • @r.k.dreamingspetchickens1266
      @r.k.dreamingspetchickens1266  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That would have been a wonderful idea, but I don't want to risk hatching too many chicks due to lack of space. The eggs that Squeak has were only incubated for a day, so will not have developed - I shall feed them to the chickens., They love a fresh egg treat. Thanks for your suggestion :-)
