Our silkies are the best bruters. We have about 20. They refuse to leave the eggs. We have had about 10-12 birds born here in about 7 months. They also teach them to go into the coop at night. We put Rhode Island, leghorns etc under them and we get new birds. Very cool.

Not all silkies will have the same feather type, so some may be fluffy headed with the pompom heads lol. Some won't though, it's just the feather difference.

Of all my chickens I dislike my Silke/bantam mix. Eggs are small. The rooster is loud and aggressive. I think they are ugly. My favorite is my americanua. She is a good cold hearty bird with a decent temperament. Also smart enough to avoid Predators. Wish I never bought those stupid Silkes
