      @SMC #1 we were winning at the time
      #2 we won that game anyway
      #3 Yeah he left for a larger and longer contract, and yeah we were sore at him... 7 years ago. As it turns out, our GM was smart not to try to beat the Angels offer as he clearly had his best years with us, so that sounds like a win-win. So the only people that would think it's okay to hold a 7 year grudge for that probably didn't have parents that loved them.
      #4 So your highlights of Matsui and Cano are suggesting you're a Yanks fan. This would explain the assholishness that it would take for you to think appreciating one of your prior greats, no matter what the circumstance for them leaving, on a simple regular season game out of 162 (not to mention their first return to our ballpark in 7 years), that we won anyway would be categorized as stupid. As if hatred when it comes to sports is somehow justified. I second z 2019, don't reproduce.

    As a lifelong Cards fan , who watched thousands of games with my father , and was the biggest cards fan ever. He may have passed on from down here but I gotta believe he saw this special moment from up there- if you ever had that special father/son relationship , the one where your dad never missed a game from little league through college and never once refused to throw batting practice, or have catch. The type where dad has you in his teams apparel at a month old. This was very emotional to say the least. How you dislike this idk?? The guy was the best player in MLB while in StL- got robbed of MVP the year Ryan Howard got it! Pujols had more HRs when he went on the DL- having a career year. His team wins the WS , with very little help that year.Very similar to 88’ Dodgers - No guy with 190-200 hits like Philly no one with more than 22 HRs or 94?95? RBIs - Rolen was like 22 95? That was it!! Meanwhile Phi didn’t even make a WC with Rollins having 190+ hits .290+ 25+ hrs 40 2B tons of steals! Utley had .300+ 200+ hits 32 HRs 100+ RBI 45 2B’s !! Considering them being the SS n 2B they had as good a year as Howard!! Plus Abreau for awhile- PURE BS Albert didn’t get that MVP , that’s a 4th MVP he deserved..If Gibson gets one in 88’ cus Dodgers had nobody with any stats but him - n Strawberry with much higher HR n RBI totals didn’t get it , how does Albert not? Phi had 3 guys have AWESOME years and they weren’t even a WC. Worst yet is Howard ended up sucking and never became anything! He was 1 of 3 guys that had career years on a non playoff team. Unlike Gibson , Albert was .331 119 RUNS, 49 HRs n 137 RBI !! While missing almost 20 GAMES!!!

  • @URAWESOME94
    @URAWESOME94 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    You gotta love Yadi. He’s one of the handful of players where you can truly see their love of the game. The types that would still show up for a fraction of the pay. He stands in front of home plate for a second to first allow the crowd to embrace Albert for returning, despite the fact that they’re on opposing sides. He then kindly gestures Albert when he comes back to the plate after a homer. Instead of just standing to the side as he would any other player, he takes a bit of dirt and sprinkles it on Pujols as he crosses the plate. “Welcome home.” Beautiful stuff. He’s one of my favorite players, despite being a cubbies fan. Truly one of the better guys. Wish he’d come to Chicago.
