    Two cool facts about Albert's homers this year:
    1) Only four were hit before the All-Star break. Two of those were in the same game, and one of those was off a position player.
    2) The Cardinals have only lost one game this season in which Albert hit a home run; his second, back in April.

      who cares... Bonds was a big phony. He shouldn't be part of the club. In my eyes he never hit 700 nor bested 61 in a season. McGuire and Sosa should be scrubbed from the records, as well.

    • @NemosNightmare
      @NemosNightmare 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@ubernate860 ok so this is a serious debate among the men in my family. Bonds, McGuire and Sosa all cheated, no doubt about it. But to say that it didn't count is up for debate. At the time they supposedly started using steroids they were not illegal. The league banned PEDs in 1991 but didn't even begin to test for them until 2003. So basically they were legal until 2003, because they were not enforcing the law they had made.
      The other side of the argument is what do steroids do, they make you STRONGER. They do nothing for hand eye coordination, ability to make contact,
      Pitch detection, etc. The tools needed to be a great hitter were there, they just added an extra 40-50 feet onto the ball every time they hit it.
      Again this is a hot topic debate, opinions sway wildly to either side depending on the arguments made for or against. Please feel free to join in and help prove or disprove the point!!!

    It was absolutely crazy how hot he got and how much he carried that Cardinals team. It was the last year Arenado and Goldy hit well together and if they couldn't get the job done, you could wager your wallet on Albert. Watching him hit the second half of that year was like watching him when I was a kid. Magic. Pure magic. Sure, you can break every AB down to a statistic but the way that each AB made you -feel- is indescribable. The stats were great, too, though!
    I will forever credit the Dodgers organization and fans for helping Albert love the game again. That team's deployment of him as a LP specialist made him worth signing for a playoff-bound Cardinals team. I think that organization and their fans helped "tio Albert" rediscover his love of the game. If he wasn't gonna hit 700 at home, I'm glad it was in Chavez Ravine. More than anything, I'm just grateful I got one last year with one of the greatest hitters of all time.

    Watch this, then go back and watch any home run he hit before this. Every time, he knows immediately that it's going out. It's the same step, turn of the head, and toss of the bat. You can tell when somebody gets ahold of a pitch, but Albert knew on instinct. Absolutely one of the greatest to do it, I'm grateful to have seen him play on a few different occasions in Anaheim.

    i remember earlier in the year people were doubting him saying it’s unlikely he will get to 700 , those same exact people in the comments praising him now 🤦🏽‍♂️

    I would like to offer my Congratulations to the one and only Albert Pujols on reaching 700 career Home Runs joining Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, and Babe Ruth in the 700 Home Run Club and soon gonna be in the Hall of Fame. And I hope he and his Cardinals teammates can make his journey to the World Series in Albert's final season! Good luck to Albert and his team and make their 11-year World Series Championship drought come true!

    It's the fact that when it comes off his bat, something that looks like a line drive to left field ends up being like, 458 ft.

    God I wish He'd come back next year...12 away from passing Ruth...That be historic achievement...He could definitely do that....How far past Ruth not sure...But if he smacks 30 homers, he's just 31 away from Bonds 🤯
