A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away there existed a group of anthropomorphic animals who flew aerodynamic space-crafts powered on Mode 7 graphics. Ever since the Super Nintendo, Star Fox and his crew of chatty team members have been making a lasting impression on gamers with their dynamic personalities and memorable one liners. Whether they're telling you to do a barrel roll, use a boost, or to "get this guy off me," the Star Fox characters certainly know how to make an impact in the story of the Lylat System. With so many characters despite so few games, which members of this cast rank as the most moral, and which ones fly their Arwings down into the realm of pure evil?

Poppy playtime characters good to evil
My thoughts if Star Wolf were ranked individually from least evil to most evil:
1 (Least evil). Wolf O'Donnell
- He's the cunning, ruthless and brutal leader of his space pirate gang, Star Wolf with a longstanding grudge against Star Fox, most especially Fox
- Though willing to destroy Fox one day, he's willing to put aside his grudge when a greater threat to the Lylat System emerges, making him an occasional anti-hero
2. Panther Caroso
- Introduced in Star Fox: Assault, he's about as dangerous as Wolf and Leon, yet he is smitten with Krystal. He's willing to work with his enemies to take down greater threats still
- He states he and his team last saw Pigma heading to planet Fichina, allowing Star Fox to track him down (though he mainly did this out of infatuation for Krystal). His lust for Krystal indicates he wouldn't make for a good boyfriend
3. Leon Powalski
- Once again, he's just as dangerous as Wolf and Panther with a grudge particularly against Falco. Still, he'll work with his enemies to take down greater threats
- He's arguably the most sadistic member of the Star Wolf team, as he prefers to torture his victims before he kills them
- Evidence of his sadism:
. Star Fox 64: "I think I'll torture you for a while!"
. Star Fox: Assault: "Haha! I think I'll torment you a bit before I cook you!"
4. Algy:
- Only appearing in Star Fox 2, he isn't given much character, but was nonetheless willing to destroy Star Fox.
5. Andrew Oikonny
- Arrogant and continues to follow in his uncle Andross's footsteps (along with a grudge against Slippy), claiming to be the heir to become the new emperor hellbent on taking over or destroying the Lylat System.
6 (Most evil). Pigma Dengar
- Betrayed Star Fox by selling out James and Peppy to Andross (James died while Peppy escaped back to Corneria) when they were sent to investigate strange activity on Venom.
- Joined Star Wolf to destroy Star Fox. He's just as sadistic as Leon, but is arguably worse especially by taunting Fox about his father's death
Examples from Star Fox 64:
. "Daddy screamed real good before he died!"
. "To bad dad's not here to see you fail!"
- Plus his grudge against Peppy, as evidenced by his taunts to him:
. Peppy, longtime no see!
. I'll do you fast Peppy old pal!
- In Star Fox: Assault, due to his untrustworthy and traitorous nature, Wolf kicks him out of Star Wolf and ordered his goons to kill him on sight should he return to their hideout, the Sargasso Space Zone
- Stole the Aparoid Core Memory to sell to get rich. This ends up getting him possessed by the aparoids before turning into one himself. My theory is had Pigma sold the Core Memory, it would have likely infected anyone else that came into contact with it. This proves that Pigma will leave anybody for dead for some quick cash, whether they're his allies or enemies
I agree. Also, what helps Leon to be a bit eviler than Wolf and Panther is that he has a body count higher than both of them combined. (While none of his victims are named, it’s possible some of them knew Falco.)
I discovered the Star Fox franchise from playing the characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Falco is my favorite character from Star Fox. He does have some arrogance, and refuses help from the others at times, but it's clear that he has a heart of gold being a bird of prey, and master of the air. I like to call him the nickname bird brain, and that's actually one of the nicknames he's called lol.🦅💙❤✈

I had the demos of Star Fox Zero and Guard, but it’s Sm4sh who presented me Fox and Falco. I started developing a deep fascination for them, especially Falco. While Fox’s past is a beefy told in Sm4sh, Falco’s past is full of mystery. Now, I’m a huge fan of the series and is still very fascinated by the story of the series.

I think Pigma should've been ranked the third most evill considering his evill deeds far outpace Star Wolf Even Wolf himself kicked out of Starwolf
Well, in Command, he mentions that despite Wolf kicked him out of Star Wolf, Pigma has a soft spot for them, especially Wolf and still cares for him. But since Command might not be canon, we don’t know if that’s the truth. (After all, it’s hard to trust Pigma after he betrayed James and Peppy.)
I feel like the Star Wolf team should have been ranked individually. Each of the members are not equal in intentions even though they were initially on the same team technically. Andrew was just a blind follower for his elder kin, Leon was a classic greedy mercenary only after the money, Pigma was a traitor through and through even to Wolf, Wolf actually helped Fox once or twice and caused direct trouble in Starlink so he basic played both sides out of convenience, and Panther actually had a turn around after quitting the team and genuinely helped the Star Fox team later on.
It seems unfair to put them all as one single entry just because they acted as a “team” for short spurts.

Pigma would be higher than the rest of the Star Wolf team when it comes to greed. He steals an Aparoid's Core Memory in the hopes of selling it, not realizing the vital information it held, mainly the Aparoid Homeworld location
He also helped the Aparoids to attempt to kill Fox and his crew.
While I like Krystal, I have to agree that she is a bit of a Mary Sue and could use some more character development. She has a ton of positive traits such as her kindheartedness, selflessness, and pilot/combatant skills... However, she barely displays any negative character traits outside of Command in which she was just written completely out of character imo. (Then again, almost everyone was written out of character in Command... 😅)
In her defense though, Krystal was originally going to be the heroine of her own non-Star Fox video game by Rare, Dinosaur Planet on the N64 which later became Star Fox Adventures. Thus, I suspect that Nintendo didn't have the time or resources to fully integrate her into the Star Fox universe and flesh out her character/backstory considering how they had to rush Adventures and Assault out the door. (Fun fact: Assault was originally just going to be a multiplayer SF battle game, but later on had to be changed into a full SF game.)
Honestly, the bigger idiot is whoever decided to risk the mechanic by putting him in a fighter. They should have found a better pilot and left Slippy to do what he's good at.
Fox, Falco, Star Wolf, Krystal, Katt, and Bill. There needs to be an animated Star Fox series.
We have Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins. We also have Starlink: Battle for Atlas. But it’s not enough. Please Nintendo, do something with Fox and his team!

Other than Pigma. I agree with Starwolf. After all when Pigma ditched his team for a gem that turned him into a monster. And team Wolf helping Fox (if for no other reason than to not be out of a job) stop the bugs.
Also, the Aparoids nearly killed Andrew and really killed Pigma, two of Wolf’s former teammates.

I ONLY came here, cause' of My Most Favorite Star Fox Heroes and Villains from the franchise: Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, Slippy Toad and Peppy Hare of Team Star Fox. And, Of Course, There's Also One of My Most Favorite Bad Guys in the Star Fox franchise: Wolf O'Donnell, Leon Powalski, Andrew Oikonny and Pigma Dengar of Team Star Wolf. I Absolutely Love Team Star Wolf, as one of THE Best of the Best Nintendo Villains There Is from the Star Fox franchise. Wolf O'Donnell is definitely and totally one of THE Best of the Best Evil-Doers and Combatants There Is. I always Appreciate him, for being the Potential Evil Archenemy/Worthy Adversary of Fox McCloud. Heck, I even love him, for Making His Super Guest Appearance in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and for Making His Comeback in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
if there will ever be a video on how smart the star fox character's are put rob 64 in 1st and andross in second because in the training of 64 if you get all the rings he tell's the player "good job now let's get back to the game" so that probably means rob 64 knows that there is someone else if you think about it. it make perfect sense he is a robot but how would we know

*Video Idea:* Which Star Fox Character would survive the Squid games?
Considering how 3/4 of the characters are mercenaries, multiple characters will easily pass the first game.
I found Star Fox from seeing his name somewhere in a Super Smash Bros animation to seeing him again in a mix-media animation that included the cartoon character Captain Bucky O’Hare
The list seems okay, but there are some flaws I want to point out. Firstly, James and Fox are more good than Peppy (although, Peppy _does_ make it to the top 3). The other two are more admirable than him. Secondly, the Star Wolf members should’ve been separated. Like you said, they have their own distinct personalities. In order, I would rank: Panther, Wolf, Algy, Leon, Andrew and Pigma.
Lastly, I would swap Andross and the Aparoid Queen. The Aparoid Queen is THE most evil. Andross has a debatable redeeming quality, that being he seems to care about Dash (or at least being pragmatic enough to save Dash from his minions that attacked him). His crimes only affect the Lylat System, while the Aparoid Queen’s crimes affect the entire universe. The Aparoids were a threat to literally everybody. Not to mention that The Queen had less resources than Andross.

pigma should be higher than star wolf as wolf at least shows in assault/to an extent command he has a heart helping fox take down the aparoids and saving him while pigma's greed caused him to get kicked out of star wolf and caused a majority of the problems with the aparoids stealing the core memory infecting him enough to become an abomination that had to be destroyed.
also would put the aparoids on the same level as andross as what they did in assault was pretty dark for a nintendo game.
I personally think James and Peppy should switch. I know James has very little information about him, but he is more implied to be more heroic and his death was due to a self sacrifice. Plus regardless of whether it's his spirit or a memory of Fox, it doesn't change the fact that it's his heroic influence living on in his son. Also, naming his son Fox isn't something to take points from his morality, blame the writers for that. Would have made more sense if Fox was his last name instead of his first name to be consistent. Looks at Toad and Hare being surnames. But his name is consistent with Wold O'Donnell.
Speakin about Pepps, RIP Rick May... Still haven't forgotten you, ya magnificent bastard.

I would have put the dinosaur tribes from star fox adventures in a grey area since while they do help and have fought off scales and the sharp claw but most sit around or will only help fox if given something first

Nope, the Aparoids are worse than Andross, especially since at least Andross has a debatable redeeming quality that being that he at least is pragmatic with Dash. The Aparoids have none of that and they are fully aware of the damage they cause.

EVERY wingman needs help, not just slippy
Exactly. While Slippy gets in danger a lot, it doesn’t make sense to say it doesn’t happen to Fox’s other friends. Fox sometimes has to help Peppy and Falco, even going to the former’s rescue when he crashed on Titania with Falco and Slippy’s help in Star Fox Zero. Considering that it already happened to Slippy in Star Fox 64, it’s very likely that Falco will be the one needing help in the next reboot.
Ok I have a huge complaint. First of all, star wolf should have been ranked sepertely. And there should be a grey area. And Wolf should be in the grey area. he is 100% an anti hero and not a villain. Wolf may seem like an evil psychopathic monster, but he really is not. In fact he cares very much for his team members and doesn't want to see them die. He has a ruff and devastating past . He also saves foxes life and does it because he cares for the people of Lylat. He even gives a speech that he only wishes for forgiveness and friendship. Wolf is 100% not evil. he even kicks out pigma because he no longer wishes to serve Andross. He realizes that what he was doing wasn't right. In a way, wolf is just a poor soul that has a desire to be loved. he has a dark past that messed with his mind and then was used as a puppet for Andross. Wolf deserved Better, While he may not be fully good, he deserves the grey area or maybe even the bottom of the good.
Calling Krystal a Mary sue is a wild take, and grouping Star Wolf together is a crime.
