    I am a beginner, just did a warp on my loom , I don’t quite know what thickness of yarn I can use for weaving , is there a guide line?

    What is the difference between single and double warping

    Great tutorial, thanks! One question: Does it make any difference if I use metod 2 or 3 for double warping? Is any of them better?

      Hi ! No, just what you feel works for you . Either work just as well .

    Can you use this type of loom to make a scarf? If so, how would you lay out the warp to accommodate the longer length? Thanks.

      Hi . You could make a scarf - by undoing the top bar and then clamping it to the other end of the table - at the distance you want and then clamping the rest of the loom to the other end of the table ? I haven’t tried this - but it could work I think, though it wouldn’t be easy . Hope this helps ? The easiest is obviously a rigid heddle loom .

    Hi, I am trying to use method three but am confused about how the last warps are supposed to look before I tie off. Will the last two only be single warped? Or should I loop the last warp one more time leaving the second to last row with three warps?

    • @weavedeck

      Hi Cassandra - the last one is single warped as it does not go back - but remains then parallel to the side, which I just find easier on the eye to begin with. After this you will do some twinning or an alternative method (like half hitches) to space out the warp so that ultimately it does not really matter - this spacing of the warps (before you start to weave) is what then becomes important. So don't worry too much and just have a go. Apologies for not replying earlier to this. Let me know if you need any further help? You can also check out my video on "2 Ways To Set Up Your Frame Loom For Weaving & Tapestry, With Twining" - th-cam.com/video/oQxNKxzyHdY/w-d-xo.html which may help too? Good luck. :)

    On the last double warping can you use a heddle bar ? How do you apply it to the frame?

    • @harrieta6961
      @harrieta6961 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also how do u attach the heddle bar? X

    • @weavedeck
      @weavedeck  ปีที่แล้ว

      So sorry for very late reply . You attach the heddle bar with an elastic band to the frame .

    • @weavedeck
      @weavedeck  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi . Yes you can . You attach it to the frame using an elastic band on each side wrapped around the frame and the heddle . Hope that makes sense

    How do you warp to make a longer item? Do you use a warping board as with a rigid heddle loom? Thanks

    • @weavedeck
      @weavedeck  ปีที่แล้ว

      So sorry for not seeing this comment . On the frame loom the only way to make the warp longer than the board size would be to detach the top frame and clamp it to the table at a distance . You could then, with everything clamped warp the now elongated frame . But it wouldn’t be easy . A rigid heddle loom would be much easier !

      @@weavedeck Thank Jane, I have a rigid heddle loom but its too big to use sitting on the sofa, this little one is great for small projects. I had a feeling there wouldn't be an easy answer

      Yeah. That’s the only thing with these lovely frame looms . You’re really confined to their dimensions .
