  • There are certain things I see new tapestry weavers struggle with over and over again. This video talks about the four that I see the most in my online classes and in workshops. I teach tapestry weaving online at rebeccamezoff.com/online-learning. My comprehensive tapestry technique book, The Art of Tapestry Weaving, was released in 2020. It is written for beginners. It'll help you find your feet and figure out all the little things that lead struggle. Let's find the joy in making things! rebeccamezoff.com/the-art-of-...

    Just started weaving yesterday when my 14" Beka loom came :) Decided to try some of the things you are demonstrating on my own :) so glad I found your video, now it all makes sense.

      You're welcome Mindy! I'm doing a new blog series about tapestry weaving and sett which is also an important basic concept. (March 2018). www.rebeccamezoff.com/blog/2018/3/14/sett-what-does-it-have-to-do-with-tapestry-weaving

    Thanks Rebecca. I have taken Beginning Tapestry twice over the past 5 years but do so many other things that I don't get much done with my tapestry and my memory stinks.

    Ah! I get it now, took a second for the "wait for the popped up warp" to click. Our super lovely weaving instructor, here in Orkney, says, "Take care of it on the way back" and either saying really helps! I was always sweating over that seemingly rebellious warp! :-)

    I don’t understand the meet and separate still. Could you explain it a different way?

    • @RebeccaMezoffTapestry
      @RebeccaMezoffTapestry  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure Paige! I do so extensively in my Warp and Weft online course as well as other online courses like Weaving Tapestry on Little Looms. There is other content on my blog which is free also. But the online class will give you the best explanation. Happy weaving! Also there is a free TH-cam video about meet and separate, so keep looking. This video isn't specifically about using meet and separate.

      Hi Julie. I'm not sure what your question is, but Navajo weaving does use tapestry techniques.

      @@RebeccaMezoffTapestry I'm gonna check your videos to do my rug. Because navjo's video here is rare.And nobody explain it.So that's why i'm asked you if your technique is the same of navajo.

I teach all of the answers in my online classes and you're welcome to jump into one of them to find all the answers.
